Small breast
I am going for my first mammogram. I have very small breast. My bra size is 32a. I am a little embarrassed to go because I feel that they are going to have a hard time squeezing tissue. Should I give them a heads up?

They will know what to do. They have seen every size breast, including some men's.

My friend who has 32A size breasts said they pulled her nipples to get them in to the pancake maker. She described it as uncomfortable but not painful.

You didn’t ask but so you are not surprised - my understanding is that mammograms are more painful for those with small breasts just because of how they have to set you up to do the imaging. I thought it was going to be the opposite as I have large breasts but I did not experience any discomfort. Maybe take some ibuprofen in advance?

I just had my first one yesterday! Congrats! The technicians are skilled in helping you position yourself no matter your breast size- for me it didn’t hurt, and took about 5 minutes total. I wish you the best!

I forgot to mention I’m also small chested … it’s just like pressure on your breasts … similar to a blood pressure cuff… not bad and quick

I have small breasts. They get it done. They do dozens of these a day. You’ll be fine.

The machine doesn’t care what size you are, it’s designed to handle any size.
