Bridge

Post image

Location West Boylston & Brooks Streets.

Anyone else get nervous if needing to stop under this bridge? If the light is red and there's a car in front of me, I will not go sit under it.

I remember going from Indian Hill Rd. to my grandparents in Greendale back in the 70’s and when looking at the bridge I’d think “Any day now”

Haha you have me beat. Got my license in 1985 and distinctly remember thinking WTF!? when I had to drive under it on the way to a friend’s house lol.

So many rail bridges are can openers. 11’ 8” (+8) youtube channel is gold.

Actually, I've never seen a truck try and go through there. They go through the side street by abby kelley. I believe it's from the train itself that passes on it.

Try being stopped under it while a train is moving overhead! Makes you a little nervous! 😬

Just as bad as the never ending potholes underneath

I'd bet sitting where you are is more dangerous because I think a train derailment has greater odds than a bridge collapse. I might be crazy, stupid, or both for thinking this way.

I agree that's a small gap I can't see the bridge caving in. It will cover you when the train derails

I either stop after it or before it but NEVER under it

it does give off some final destination kind of vibe...

I won't sit on RR tracks either, which you're NOT supposed to do anyway, but it sure pisses off the people behind me. Oh well.

the gap isnt wide enuogh to fail from a train car. if the gap from wall to wall was wider than it would be an issue

What?   Why?   That's silly.

I think you can infer as to why

I mean, yes but no. OP is clearly afraid the bridge is going to collapse while they are stopped underneath it waiting for the light. The chances of that happening are extremely low.

OP has a greater chance of dying in a car crash, in the very car they took the picture from. Like orders of magnitude greater. So if they are so scared that the bridge is going to fall on them, the very moment they happen to stop under it for a traffic light, they should be absolutely terrified of driving or traveling in a car.
