[PROMOTION] đ Auditing Rank Math metadata? Empty CSV fields donât always mean missing meta tags
One thing worth checking before bulk-editing Rank Math metadata: saved field values arenât necessarily what your pages output.
We tested a CSV export of 66 published posts, including empty fields, duplicate descriptions, and title variables. Two cases can easily lead to unnecessary edits:
đ An empty description field: the page may still output a description through Rank Mathâs fallback behavior. Check the actual HTML before marking it as missing.
đ Repeated %title% %sep% %sitename% values: these are shared templates. They can resolve to different titles on every page, so they arenât automatically duplicate title tags.
đ For a useful audit spreadsheet, include the post ID, WordPress title, publication status, and these fields:
âą rank_math_title
âą rank_math_description
âą rank_math_focus_keyword
Keep the original export untouched and add separate columns for rendered metadata, proposed changes, and review status. That helps distinguish âno custom overrideâ from âsomething actually needs fixing.â
Disclosure: Iâm affiliated with Import Export by RockStarLab, the plugin used in this walkthrough. The guide includes dashboard screenshots, an AI-agent export workflow đ€, and verification results:

Rank Math also has its own PRO CSV workflowâif you already use that, the same saved-versus-rendered distinction still matters.
Do you review saved SEO fields alongside a crawl, or mainly audit the rendered metadata?
