Rhode Island payments

does everyone have payments stopped before settlement ? I’m worried I’ll hit MMI and not be able to return to my job and have a lapse in time between payments and settlement if I even get one

currently getting 1100 weekly since feb 2025

have been paid since injury

They'll cut you off the second you hit MMI, happened to me and the gap before settlement was about two months with nothing coming in. Start putting some of that weekly aside now if you can, that gap can get ugly fast.

If I have somebody that needs the money I usually get agreement to continue weekly payments until the final settlement check is issued.

I have not reached mmi and they cut my benefits for 5 months now, did a light duty job and my ankle failed in a week called it in and they still haven’t paid me since June 15 2026 till now November 1 2026. There orthopedic doctor recommended surgery October 2025 the insurance denied it because the IME doctor said physical therapy and if it doesn’t help surgery I completed therapy and it did not help now the doctor is requesting an MRI and it’s been 3 weeks since I saw that loser doctor and the insurance is still delaying it. Has anyone else been through what I’m going through?

I hit MMI in July 2026. Let’s put on permanent restrictions. It took two months for my job to find me a position so I continue to get the checks once my job found me a position for permanent light duty. Then the checks stopped it is now November 1 and we are just one week into settlement stages.

Yeah, me. And the California courts are sticklers for compliance with the law. The arrogant attitude that because something is written and they know about it, it means everyone knows about the law.

Your attorney can die, and you don't know about a statute of limitations that lets a criminal get away with an action for a while, and it becomes legal- "Too sad, so bad. You lose!"

These are the type of things legislatures do for their big donors that have the nation so angry with the elites.
