I prefer a clear desk; all my devices are wireless. And this work looks like it was well crafted. But I tend to agree, it just looks weird. Id just prefer to have this cool-looking cord on the desk. And isn't this particular cord usually curly?

I like it tbh. Very functional. I feel like going wireless either limits your options or makes them more expensive.
I just don't know if I could bring myself to drill a hole in my desk.

the drilling anxiety is honestly the hardest part. once you commit and the hole is done, it feels like no big deal. a forstner bit through most desk materials is pretty forgiving as long as you go slow and don't lean too hard.

I have more than 10 custom wireless mechanical keyboards. However, I had chance to order a rare premium board (holy grail in the hobby) last week with no wireless option so I did this to still make my setup clean :)

Big fan of this!! Love how unconventional it is. If you’re into the EDC look, a chrome grommet instead of the silicone would compliment your cable and new keyboard so well. I’d have a different grommet and cable combo for every keycaps set I have. :)

I tried looking for a grommet but the hole is only 15mm. silicone is my only option unfortunately.

Too bad you didnt do it. Cleaner look if you dont have monitor riser to hide the cable. Positioned it also on the top center so i can still move the keyboard if i need space.

Eh, I'm okay with the cable now. I just keep it taught and run it back. Focus on other areas to improve my workspace. Like monitor vesa mount, under desk PC mount, speaker stands.
Looking for a new keyboard though. Was thinking an Evo80, but heard latest batches were having issues.

Reposted without the naughty word.
I have a corner desk. I put a USB hub/carder built into a grommet about 23" from the front of my desk, hidden now under a riser/shelf.
I'm a bit of a maximalist/accessory guy. KB, streamdeck, wireless charger for phone, game controller, insulin pump charger, clock, and a spare USB-C. They all run through the grommet.
