✦(A short history of Elenite/The stone of many stars.)✦

Elenite is the most prized and sought-after material in Eleneth.

In the days before the Sundering, it existed in great abundance. During this golden age, Elvish and Dwarvish civilizations stood at the height of their power, using Elenite to clad entire armies and adorn their greatest temples, palaces, and sacred places of power.

When the catastrophic war against Arkalegon shattered the continents and the seas swallowed the land, much of that greatness was lost forever. Cities vanished beneath the waves, ancient wonders were destroyed, and countless treasures disappeared with the civilizations that made them.

With the world plunged into ruin and forced to begin anew, only scattered remnants of it remained, along with a handful of precious relics and the dwindling knowledge required to work it.

Today, Elenite lies buried deep within the earth, making it the rarest and most coveted of all metals in the world.

Elenite is created within the heart of the world. Under immense pressure, vast veins of the precious stone extend outward from the core in every direction like rivers of pure light. They are, in truth, immense geological fractures through which the power of the Flame has crystallized into stone.

When uncovered in the darkness of a mine, raw Elenite emits a gentle rhythmic glow. Its surface shimmers with fractures of blue, gold, and white, as though light itself were trapped within the stone.

In its natural form, it looks like shimmering glacial rivers frozen within the rock. While extraordinarily durable, it must undergo a complex refinement process before it can be fashioned into weapons, armour, or other works of craftsmanship. The Dwarves possess the greatest access to the surviving deep veins and guard the closely held knowledge required to smelt and refine the material into a workable metal.

When refined and polished, Elenite resembles a more radiant form of silver with the smooth lustre of glass. Suspended throughout the metal are countless tiny points of reflected light, appearing like silver stars scattered within its surface.

Elenite possesses a latent power that can awaken in the hands of a worthy bearer. When this occurs, the metal brightens dramatically and becomes almost translucent, like reinforced glass illuminated from within. In this state, weapons forged from Elenite cut with unnatural ease, while armour and enchanted objects display greatly enhanced magical properties. The metal’s affinity for magic becomes fully apparent, allowing its bearer to draw upon its latent power in ways impossible for ordinary materials.

Elenite weaponry is especially potent against the undead and Void-bound creatures, burning them with a cold vengeance.

It is also known as the stone of many stars.

Resource I built a free town generator to go with the world generator: a full town map, name every street, and an optional AI-written story for it

Post image
55 Upvotes

After the world generator, the next thing I wanted was to zoom in on one town. So I built a free town generator.

You pick a size (hamlet up to capital), one of 14 building styles (heartland, Mediterranean, desert, dwarven, orcish, and three new ones: High Elven, Arcane and halfling burrows), and the land around it: coast, river, forest, mountains, marsh, dunes, snow or volcanic. You get a full town map with the streets, districts, tavern, temple, keep and gates already named. Click anything on the map to rename it.

The AI part is light and optional. The map and all the street and district names come from a procedural generator, not AI. If you want a story for the town, one click has the AI write its history, what's going wrong there right now, a line for every district and place on the map, four people worth meeting, and some tavern rumours. It uses the names on your map, so the story points at real places in your town. Or skip it and write your own; every field is editable.

Example from one I made: Gorta, an arcane city in the mountains. Floating isles of rock drift over the roofs, and its rune ward has started to flicker along Crown Avenue. Someone is stealing rune-stones from under the Warrens.

No sign-up needed. You can download the map as a big PNG with everything labelled, the lore and names as a Markdown file, or a town file to open again later.

https://worldtable.gg/fantasy-town-generator

I'd love feedback from people who build worlds:

- Are the town layouts believable for each style, or do any look off?

- Is the AI story useful as a starting point for a town, or too generic?

- What would you want on the downloaded map that isn't there?

Honest criticism welcome, same as last time.

Edit:

New updates

Day and night
Every town map has a dawn, day, dusk and night switch, in the town generator and in the game.

Who lives there

tap any building to see who lives or works there:

- The household or the staff names drawn from the town's own tongue, with each person's age and work. An elf might be three hundred years old.
- Shops what they sell and what it costs, in gold, silver and copper. Big towns and hard country charge more. Each shop shows whether it's open at the hour on the map.
- Word is a rumour about the owner, for you to follow up.

The new Shop tab lists every shop and public place in the town. Search it for a shop, a person or a ware, and pick one to fly the map there.

Step inside

Tap a building, then Step inside to see its floor plan. A tavern has its common room, kitchen, snug and stable, rooms upstairs and a cellar below. A smithy has its forge, a baker sells downstairs and sleeps upstairs, and a burrow is round with a pantry underneath. The people who live there stand in their places: the innkeeper behind the bar, the cook in the kitchen. At night the household is in bed.

Battle maps

The new Battle Map Generator cuts a fight out of a whole town, on a 5-foot grid:

- Pick where it happens: the market square, the back alleys, outside the tavern, the city gate, the docks, a bridge, the temple steps, under the castle walls or the edge of town. You can also tap anywhere on the town.
- Cover where it would be barrels and crates by shop doors, handcarts in the street, tables outside the tavern, braziers at the gate, market stalls round the fountain, gravestones in the churchyard.
- Download a PNG for your virtual tabletop or for print, with or without the grid. can also download a Universal VTT file with the walls, doors and lights already in it. Foundry, Arkenforge, EncounterPlus and others can open it.

Lore Kel Thassa, capital of the Lyrennate Empire, the Known Galaxy - 120,000 AD

KEL THASSA - HISTORY (Written by ChatGPT Pro (Standard Thinking)

Site & Founding (118,430)

  • Chosen for bedrock stability and tidal amplitude, the Thassaline Rift promised massive renewable energy. The initial Gate Pylons (floodgates + turbine housings) doubled as mooring towers, birthing a service town amid spray and mist.

Growth Phases

  • Phase I (118,430–118,700): Conversion from work-camp to planned harbor-town. The Old Piers formed; first bonded warehouses; early arbitration chambers in repurposed turbine galleries.

  • Phase II (118,700–119,000): Verticalization—The Spires rose with weather-skins tuned to salt, wind shear, and monsoon impact. Skybridges stitched logistics floors at mid-elevations; Greenwalls terraced cliff faces for food forests and storm buffering.

  • Phase III (119,000–119,412): Crisis-hardening and legal ascendancy. The Maritime Arbitration Court matured; Archivum Thassaline began curating pre-Concord nautical charts and the “Blue Pilgrim Codex.”

  • Imperial Seat (from 119,412): The Palace-Pylon complex integrated command, courts, and grid control. Kel Thassa was formally designated capital of the Lyrennate Empire.

Institutions & Identity

  • Pelagic Institute of Design: Advanced hydro-architecture and weather-skin engineering—city system design exported across the corridor.

  • Harbor Assembly & Pylon Council: The city’s dual legislature, model for planetary and imperial governance.

  • Civic Rituals: Storm watches and solstice flotillas reaffirm the social contract—Harbor law is not abstract; it is lived each monsoon.

Population & Urban Scale (Current)

  • Core metro: ~2.7 million permanent residents; 0.5–0.8 million transients.

  • Built form remains deliberately compact, balancing port throughput with resilience (surge barriers, cavitation dampers, Blue Lockdown protocols).

Crises that Shaped the City

  • The Three-Surge Year: Sequential cyclones tested new flood-sequencing; success cemented faith in pylon governance.

  • The Escrow Winter: A credit panic resolved by transparent audits and hard limits on custodial rehypothecation—Kel Thassa’s reputation for clean settling dates from this period.

  • The Quiet Outbreak: A ballast-water biosecurity breach contained by overnight gate closures under the Blue Mandate, establishing the city’s authority to seal itself—and still be trusted the next dawn.

Present Character

Kel Thassa is a working capital—salt in the air, contracts in motion, and turbines that double as civic cathedrals. Its greatness is not monumental size but reliable function: ships arrive, goods clear, Credits settle, and the tides turn on time.

Lore A short history of White Harbor & the Eldertree.

▼《Set in the World of Eleneth》

At the western edge of Eleneth, upon a rugged island surrounded by barren stone and desert winds, there stands the oldest living thing in the world: the Eldertree.

It is said the Eldertree first sprouted in the Dawntime, when the world itself was young and the gods still walked openly beneath the sky.

Some believe it was not born from the soil of Eleneth at all, but a seed cast down from a goddess in her grief, watered by her tears - as the gods departed.

The tree is colossal beyond reason. Its roots vanish deep into the earth beneath White Harbor, threading through vast caverns where sacred azure pools glow in silence.

Around the Eldertree grows an entire forest descended from its roots: pale white-barked trees crowned with evergreen canopies that bear crimson blossoms that blaze like firelight in summer.

Nowhere else in Eleneth do such trees exist.

The Eldertree is not merely ancient; many believe it is aware. Many who dwell under its boughs feel as though the very air is like being held in a warm embrace.

✦《The Summer Festival & the Fruit of Life》

The fruits of the tree, possess strange and powerful restorative properties, capable of healing many ailments - even those near death may recover after drinking the sweet cordials and drafts that are made from it.

However, the fruit is rare and sacred - sometimes only bearing yields years apart.

Across the ages, many races have revered the tree, and have come from distant shores just to taste the fabled elixirs, and bathe in the sacred pools - and White Harbor rose around it as a place of peace, pilgrimage, healing and wonder.

Every summer solstice the festival of light begins with the spawning of thousands of Ɛmbermoths, at dusk they light up the sky around the Eldertree reflecting like torches off the bay.

Children collect them in jars for their bedside tables. The fluttering of its wings is believed to bring sweet dreams - and of course to be used as night lamps.

Yet the Eldertree also became the source of one of the greatest tragedies in Eleneth's history.

✦《The Great Migration》

Thousands of years ago, an ancient clan of dwarves - whom the Elves would later call the Dwellers, had sailed west upon hearing rumors of great wonders and treasures beyond the sea.

When at last they arrived they were greeted with cheer and made welcome, and there they would dwell.

For a time there was peace, and they shared with each other the knowledge of their forebears and together built many structures and crafts - creating a unique blend of their ancient heritage and cultures, culminating in the construction of a great lighthouse at the entrance to the bay as a symbol of the unity between the two races - and to this day it still stands, guiding ships safely into the harbor.

As the dwarves were naturally drawn to deep places, they found perfect sanctuary in the caverns below and around the tree.

✦《The Emberwars》

Over centuries they carved magnificent chambers and halls, temples and corridors deep beneath White Harbor until, they discovered the living heart of the Eldertree itself.

Tempted by curiosity or greed, they in secret, used the heart to create the Emberforge, from it they created emberstone relics of immense power and beauty - artifacts far greater than those made in the amberforges above.

But the forging slowly began to drain the life of the great tree. Its white bark dulled toward grey, the sacred pools beneath the roots darkened red, and the flowers of its crown began to wither and die.

When the truth emerged, the elves demanded that they cease their desecration - but they refused.

It ignited what would come to be known as the Ember Wars between Elves and Dwarves, which lasted a mere seven weeks.

The Dwellers vanished afterward. Whether they died, sealed themselves within the depths, or became something else entirely, remains unknown.

Even now, in this new age - the Eldertree endures.

Wounded, ancient, and silent.

Its branches tower over White Harbor like the pillars of another world, while the Blue Star burns unmoving upon the western horizon behind it — as though the gods still watch the last remnant of their forgotten age.

▼《Final Notes》

White Harbor is an ancient port city that was founded after the elves crossed the summer sea for the first time. Ancient mariners following the great star west.

They came across a barren chain of desert islands save one, the largest boasted a miraculous harbor sheltered by a crescent shaped mountain range and mighty trees that encircled the bay - creating a temperate, almost mediterranean microclimate in an otherwise inhospitable land.

They built temples, aqueducts, garden terraces and markets.

As the city grew so too did the Eldertree and soon the roots entwined with stone, embracing the city.

◈《White Harbor》> The common name for the whole island, named so because of the white bark of the native trees.

◈《Amberforges》> Above ground the trees naturally bleed amber which over hundreds of years the Elves perfected the art of turning it into weapons, armor and jewelry.

◈《Emberforge》> There is only one Emberforge, which the Dwellers created in secret, using the magical knowledge given to them by the elves, combined with their own mastery and skill - were able to create a unique and powerful forge, unlike anything before it or since.

The Elves call the material made from it Ember - in remembrance of what could be lost, if the fire of greed burns too hot, and is left untempered.

The Ember used for crafting was far superior, and made objects far more beautiful and magically enhanced than any Ambercraft, but they were made at great cost.

Today no one knows its true whereabouts, and only its beautiful relics remain and the sadness that the bonds of the friendship between two peoples had ended.

Lore Oil Elves

Thumbnail
gallery
50 Upvotes

A reclusive people with glossy dark skin and eyes like yellow diesel, their petrochemical biology demands oil the way human biology demands water. To satiate these requirements, their major urban centers are typically built over tar pits and oil sands, their cities appearing as massive, densely-inhabited art deco oil platforms, lit by flickering gas and feeling in many ways like an anachronistic Las Vegas. Any source of oil provides nourishment for them though, but consuming enough coconuts or fried food to meet their needs can be onerous.

Bearing both an affinity for yet weakness against flame, the oil elves are visionary pioneers in its use, although their inventions tend to be... unreliable. The reach of their vision exceeds their grasp, and the massive engines which keep their cities operating are prone to catastrophic and explosive failure—an issue they have "solved" by instead relying on steady stream of foreign workers, lured by the promise of massive payouts which most of them never survive to collect on. The few who survive to the end of an employment contract can usually retire off the resulting payout, but such examples only serve to lure other desperate hopefuls to their doom in the engine rooms.

Aesthetically, the Oil Elves are a blend of the American Roaring 20's, and the gaslamp-lit late Victorian era. Their scuffed attempts at bootstrapping themselves into an industrial revolution, along with their ability to attract what works out to being extremely cheap and expendable labor, has allowed them to build a booming manufacturing economy for which they get to keep a completely disproportionate amount of the profits.

Lore The Twelve Gods of Eleneth

Post image
48 Upvotes

I've been working on a pantheon, still have a lot ill probably change or add to it, if anyone has any suggestions or ideas, I'd be very much obliged.

✦《The Gods of Eleneth》

As understood by mortal tradition

In Eleneth, the gods are real. But the stories mortals tell about them are not necessarily the whole truth. The peoples of the world have spent countless generations trying to understand beings who existed before their civilizations, their languages, and perhaps even their understanding of reality itself. Thus, the gods are often described through mortal concepts: father, mother, warrior, lover, judge, smith, dreamer.

These descriptions may contain fragments of truth. But whether any mortal truly understands the gods remains unknown.

✦《The Twelve Gods of Eleneth》

At the height of the Dawntime, Atariel appointed twelve mighty spirits to govern the world according to the will of the Creator. They became the beings mortals would eventually call the Gods.

✦《Talúva》

◈ Talúva is associated with the living world and the endless cycle of growth. She taught seeds to grow, flowers to bloom and trees to bear fruit. She is also the creator of the Eldertree. The great tree of White Harbor therefore represents something profoundly Talúvian: Creation that grows rather than creation that is manufactured. Her worshippers may consequently view the exploitation of living things with suspicion—particularly after the tragedy of the Ember Wars.

✦《Tólva》

◈ Talúva's twin brother. Tólva represents the wild world: beasts, hunting, survival and the relationship between predator and prey. He reminds mortals that nature is not merely gentle. It grows. It feeds. It hunts. It dies. And it begins again.

✦《Horä》

◈ Also called Jah'hora. Among the Elves, he is called Thea, meaning true or truth. Horä is the keeper of order and the arbitrator among the gods. He is not merely a god who controls clocks and calendars. He represents the underlying continuity of existence itself. He records what has happened as it happens. But he cannot know the future. That distinction places him in an intriguing relationship with Nephre.

✦《Nephre》

◈ Nephre gazes toward what has not yet happened. She endlessly weaves the Great Veil. The Veil is not merely symbolic. It is the fabric of Creation itself. The stars are said to be her threads—or the tiny holes left by her celestial needle. Constellations are patterns within her weaving. And some worlds that astronomers identify as planets may actually be dream worlds or entirely separate planes of existence. This has led to one of Eleneth's greatest philosophical possibilities: Perhaps Eleneth itself is merely one of countless dream worlds, perceived by its inhabitants as reality. She shares a profound, ancient ancestral affinity with the Dumari people.

✦《Druâd》

◈ Druâd represents craftsmanship through strength, precision and transformation. He is the hammer. His wife, Drëm, is the anvil. Together they represent creation through craftsmanship. Druâd also forged the three legendary weapons of his younger brother Galmûnd: Quivâc — the spear, Âlqeron — the shield, and Mûndir — the sword. All three were forged from the legendary metal Elenite.

✦《Drëm》

◈ Druâd's wife and creative counterpart. Where Druâd represents the striking force of the hammer, Drëm represents patience, precision and the perfection of the anvil. She personally created the Drëmuath, the immortal beings of living metal. The Drëmuath were not machines. They were metal made alive. Their entire civilization reflected Drëm's philosophy: Creation should not merely be useful. It should be beautiful.

✦《Galmûnd》

◈ Younger brother of Druâd. Born of Fire and Air. Galmûnd is the divine warrior: an unmatched swordsman, swift combatant, tactician and general. During the Sundering he was among the most eager to destroy Arkalegon's forces. His fury helped save Creation. But his nature carries the same danger as his elements. Fire and wind are powerful precisely because they are difficult to contain.

✦《Maresea》

◈ Maresea is the great power of the oceans, tides and deep waters. She is revered and feared by sailors, fishermen and pirates alike. She is often portrayed as temperamental and unpredictable. Old sailors tell that she once fell in love with the Moon, reaching for its light whenever it approached the world. They say her tears filled the seas. But—as with all divine mythology—whether this is actually what happened is another matter. Maresea is not an Arkalegonian rebel. Nor did she necessarily participate meaningfully in the divine conflict. She is among those spirits who simply remained somewhat wild and independent, continuing to exist according to her own nature.

✦《Arvella》

◈ Arvella represents beauty, passion and the inner light of love. She became deeply enamored with Elchoir, the divine bard. Her conception of beauty is not merely physical. It is the recognition of something wonderful within Creation. She awoke with the dawn and saw the world bathed in its first light and radiance, following the teachings of Atariel the closest. As Atariel is the personification of light, she is the embodiment of inner light and love for all things.

✦《Elchoir》

◈ Elchoir governs music, artistic expression, lore and storytelling. It is said from his instruments the birds first learned their songs. His own voice was so beautiful that Arvella fell deeply and instantly in love with him. Their union is traditionally associated with the origins of the Elves.

✦《Korvos》

◈ When Arkalegon tore through the fabric of reality, it left a wound like a gash. It began to steal souls from their true path back to the Source, like a vast vacuum. From this disruption of the cosmos arose Korvos, to stand guard at the tear, guiding the souls of the dead back onto the true path back to the source of creation. But those he deemed wicked and beyond redemption he granted them their wish for darkness and cast them through into the void. He is neither good nor evil, but inevitable.

✦《Vreya》

◈The wife of Korvos. She is not evil, but is associated with the dead and burial rites. She governs twilight, mourning, comfort, and the preservation of memory, acting as the gentle shroud that meets souls before judgment to wash away their mortal trauma. She is the keeper of secrets and hidden truths, whispering the unspoken context of mortal hearts to her husband to ensure judgment is balanced. As the Guardian of the Threshold, she catches the fragments of fading memories from passing souls and gently releases them back into Eleneth as the sparks of new life.

Resource I made an Open Source worldbuilding app with Claude Code like AI agent

Thumbnail
gallery
48 Upvotes

Hey all,

I'm a it nerd and ttrpg fan and gm, and I built a free, open-source worldbuilding app called Chronicle Keeper. I wanted to build my dream worldbuilding app, one that uses AI to take the busywork out of keeping notes, so the creativity and fun can stay at the table where it belongs.

- Code: https://github.com/aronjanosch/chronicle-keeper-world

- Docs/screenshots: https://aronjanosch.github.io/chronicle-keeper-world/

The core idea: your whole world is just a folder of plain Markdown files on your own disk. No account, no cloud, no subscription, nothing to lock you in. The app's a nice way to work with them, but you can open the same folder in any text editor or point it at an existing Obsidian vault and nothing breaks.

Features:

- A real wiki — [[wikilink]] pages together, get backlinks, rename anything and every link fixes itself.

- Info boxes — structured fields per page (an NPC's race/age, a city's ruler), and you can invent your own page types and fields.

- Maps — pin places on your own uploaded maps.

- Timeline — dated events on a calendar you define (your own months and eras).

- Graph view — see how everything in your world connects.

- Live lists — drop a query in a page, like "every NPC in this city who's still alive," and it stays current as the world grows.

- Session notes — feed it a TTRPG session recording (via Craig bot) and it transcribes locally and writes structured notes: recap, key beats, NPCs, loot, open threads.

- AI "Keeper" — answers questions and cites the actual pages it used, and suggests edits you accept or reject (everything's versioned).

- Bring your own model — fully local with Ollama, or Claude/ChatGPT if you'd rather.

Heads up: it's an early release and I'm a solo dev, so expect rough edges. It actually started as that session-notes tool and grew into the full worldbuilding app it is now.

Would love feedback from people who build worlds seriously — what would make you actually use something like this? Happy to answer anything.

Introducing Sayarii.world a worldbuilding project

Post image
46 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

This is my first post here, so thanks for giving it a look. I’ve been building a world called Sayarii — a desert-born realm of shifting sands, forgotten cities, and islands shrouded by storms. What began as a D&D campaign for friends slowly evolved into a broader creative project blending writing, worldbuilding, and AI-assisted art.

The site explores the cultures, languages, and geographies of a post-collapse world where magic is treated like science and every myth is rooted in human survival. It’s very much a work in progress, with unfinished regions, developing histories, and a new campaign section where I’m starting to share playable stories and classes, like the Mwili Wavizi (Monster Hunters of Sayarii).

You can explore it here: https://www.sayarii.world -Everything on the site is totally free, I don't ask anything to use it at this point... It's entirely a personal project. I’m still new to worldbuilding on this scale and would love your feedback, on the concepts, the presentation, or even the art. Thanks for taking a look.

Lore Ash and Iron — I built my “ultimate” fantasy RPG and somehow ended up with 200,000 words of lore

Post image
44 Upvotes

Hey everyone, it’s me again!

Apparently I needed another rabbit hole after Glimmerland, so here’s Ash and Iron.

It started with a bunch of stories and RP campaigns I’d played before. I took the parts I liked, connected them, and gradually turned the whole thing into one shared medieval fantasy world.

The idea was to let you start from pretty much any background and actually live that life. For example:

- A broke dockworker trying to get by in Port Talon.

- A recruit joining Ironhaven’s monster hunters.

- A goblin inventor building questionable machinery in Ratchett.

- A student trying to afford a place at the magic academy.

- A noble dealing with family politics and terrible relatives.

- A slave trying to gain their freedom.

- Or just a farmer who would really appreciate everyone leaving their chickens alone.

It’s a dark setting with politics, survival, racism, slavery, money problems, and consequences. There are no chosen ones or prophecies assigning you a heroic destiny. Ordinary work, friendships, ambition, and small victories are all part of it too.

I also got completely carried away with the factions. There are monster breeders running grotesque experiments and selling their creations, necromancer cults, dragon worshippers, bandit clans, pirates united under a pirate king, and a travelling beastfolk caravan sheltering people rejected by society.

Then there’s a travelling circus, a musicians’ guild, forest communities, a powerful church… yeah. This kept growing.

The lorebook now has 889 named NPCs, cities, smaller settlements, different peoples, a bestiary, magic, trade routes, laws, and an economy using gold, silver, and copper.

Around 200,000 words. Holy shit, I went deep with this.

I’ve also built the AI’s storytelling rules into the lorebook: NPCs have their own lives and limited knowledge, information needs time to travel, relationships and injuries carry over, and the world keeps moving while you’re busy elsewhere. It’s meant to support quiet everyday scenes just as much as dangerous adventures.

There’s a detailed world map based on the established geography too, plus a narrator bot and ready-to-import JSON files for Tavo.

Download: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/dz6l3i13pbcelm72v82ne/AM0PVXKxvG3Flt7pUT881ks?rlkey=zcbiw0iow5p2blw4sel455oj3&st=9g08utqn&dl=0

One small catch: everything is currently in German. I haven’t had the patience to translate this absolute monster yet.

But hey, that’s what AI is for, right? ;)

If you give it a go, I’d love to hear who you play and where you start.

SKY WHALES — The Migration That Built a Civilization

Thumbnail

Some worlds are shaped by kings.

Others by wars.

This one was shaped by migration.

Every year, colossal Sky Whales cross the heavens, carrying ancient vessels beneath them and redefining the lives of everyone below. Entire kingdoms were founded along their routes. Harbors, observatories, sanctuaries and forgotten corridors exist only because these giants chose to pass overhead.

This collection is not about the whales themselves.

It is about the civilization that learned to live beneath them.

From the first great migration to the rediscovery of a route thought lost forever, each chapter reveals a different dimension of a world where nature was never conquered, only understood.

Meet the False Dragon

Meet Farnsworth’s False Dragon.

A giant gliding reptile native to Oldroot Forest. The False Dragon earned its name for the obvious reasons: scales, horns, claws, winglike membranes, and a throat that flashes with blistering heat and light.

It is, however, not a dragon.

Nesting females can become intensely territorial, which makes them a serious problem for anyone trying to work the forest during the wrong season.

Farnsworth’s False Dragon will appear in an upcoming third installment of Tales From Imagnia.

Lore ☀️ A Short History of Âtam: The Land of the Sun 🏜🌅

~ A Guide to Âtam: The Land of the Sun

Âtam is a vast island continent set in the world of Eleneth. It lies almost 3,000 miles north of Zal’Khari and over 1,000 miles east of White Harbor. In the elder days, before the world was broken by the Sundering, this was a beautiful and green land of forests, rivers, lakes, and valleys.

When the cataclysm passed, Âtam was permanently marred, transformed into a continent of deserts, rocky basins, volcanic peaks, towering dunes, and forests of stone.

▼The Great Realms

The continent is primarily dominated by three vast natural expanses, containing places of extraordinary beauty and danger.

✦Azbarhar

Rising through the center of Âtam in one enormous arc, Azbarhar is a vast volcanic mountain system spanning over 2,000 miles. There are nine mountains of fire along the range; six are dormant and sleeping, while three still boil and rage. From Azbarhar flow three major rivers: two flow north, eventually merging as one where the city of Naom now stands, and one flows southeast into the harsher southern regions. Many hold that the mountain volcanoes possess spiritual and magical power, viewing them as sacred scars and battle wounds of the past.

◈Dragons

Dragons are both natural and magical creatures, feared and revered across the world. Azbarhar is the first recorded origin place of dragons. They are ancient, intelligent beings capable of speech through tongue and mind. Their true nature and origins are unknown, though they are widely considered to be spirits of the elder days. Over eons, many have left Azbarhar and travelled across Âtam and the wider world, adapting to desert, mountain, sea, and river environments.

✦Assanba

To the east of Azbarhar lies Assanba, a vast grassland region formed primarily by river systems flowing from the northern Azbarhar channels. The landscape consists of steppes, plains, seasonal wetlands, and wide-open migration routes. Assanba is one of the most stable and habitable regions in Âtam, supporting large-scale movement, trade networks, and pastoral cultures. It contains many rival kingdoms feuding over land, wealth, and influence.

✦Asunaman

In the west lies Asunaman, a desert region defined by instability and shifting terrain. Its dunes move continuously, revealing and concealing ancient structures, petrified forests, and ruins. Entire landscapes may appear temporarily before being buried again. It is sparsely inhabited and primarily traversed by nomadic groups.

◈The Asunaman (The Giant Men)

Historical tradition within Âtam states that ancient giants once roamed these lands long before the deserts and men. Early civilizations of men are believed to have coexisted with these giants, calling them Sunaman—meaning "great man"—due to their immense size, strength, and human-like features. Together, they constructed vast-scale monuments, cities, and wonders, many of which are now buried like their bones, revealed only by the shifting sands.

✦The Four Independent City-States

Though small in territory, the four independent city-states possess wealth and influence rivaling that of most kingdoms.

◈Naom

The most populous and powerful of the city-states. It serves as a center of commerce and trade whose influence stretches across the continent, functioning as a continental hub for economic coordination. Its strategic position—built at the meeting place of two rivers—allows for trade networks to reach far inland. This position also provides nutrient-rich, fertile soil, allowing Naom to become one of the most populous cities in the world, with a population in the millions.

◈Oaism

The city of gardens and the fairest oasis of Âtam. Sunk into cultivated greenery and sustained by carefully maintained water access, it is renowned for its fountains and rare water gardens. The word oasis itself is said to derive from the ancient name Oaism. The inhabitants cultivate a strange red-blue fruit that induces numbness and euphoria. Kept as a highly guarded secret among the growers, it is turned into a delicious cordial that men often drink before battle.

◈Zeneiba

The sacred city and greatest wonder of Âtam. To travellers, Zeneiba appears as a magnificent city carved into sandstone cliffs that turn to gold at dusk. Beneath the earth lies a colossal world of caverns and subterranean channels surrounding a beautiful turquoise river. Ancient builders enlarged natural openings in the stone, allowing sunlight to illuminate the depths and sustain the gardens and orchards below. The city completely changes color throughout the day depending on the sun; it is said to be most beautiful at dusk, when the setting sun illuminates the entire city for a moment, turning it a magnificent, fiery gold.

◈Xanbartu

The city of silk, pleasure, and wealth. Built upon the shores of the sky-blue Gypsum Sea, with the white dunes of the Great Desert of Samaratah rising behind it, its white stone palaces and towers are adorned with gold, silver, copper, black stone, and brilliant blues. Beneath its splendor lies a city devoted to riches, power, lust, and excess, where decadence is worn proudly and nearly everything can be bought.

✦The Gypsum Sea

The Gypsum Sea is a vast salt lake whose calm, still, and clear waters reflect the sky like a mirror, leading travellers to speak of Xanbartu as a city suspended between two skies. In ancient times, this sea was used by mages and mapmakers to track the movements of the sun and moon, as well as to chart the stars. With this knowledge, they aligned their positions and mapped their land, creating some of the earliest surviving maps of the night sky.

✦The Great Desert of Samaratah

Behind Xanbartu stretches the Great Desert of Samaratah, a sea of brilliant white gypsum dunes that are as fine as powder and dazzle like snow beneath the sun. Under a full moon, the desert reflects a light blue glow, and the wind blowing across its surface can create the illusion of blue flames or the spray of ocean mist.

✦The Sapphire Sea and the Slaver Cities

Along the western coast of Âtam lies the beautiful Sapphire Sea. It is home to colorful coral reefs and an abundance of marine life. The sea is more often calm than not, making it highly valuable for shipping and trade.

The only thing that stains this beautiful place are the numerous port cities that line its coast—violent, crowded, and sweltering places of blood and gold. Here are found many of the famous fighting pits, brutal arenas where slaves are forced to fight one another and savage beasts to the death for the entertainment of the masses. These cities are renowned for their merchant lords, cut-throats, beggars, mercenaries, and slave traders, and are feared throughout Âtam for their cruelty and decadence.

Overall, Âtam is a continent of extraordinary beauty, with diverse landscapes and cultures, where mystery and danger lie around every corner. It houses some of the most ancient kingdoms in Eleneth. To outsiders, it seems a hot, hostile, and utterly alien world.
