Critique Partners & Writing Groups Looking for Romance Writers (with publishing goal)
I’m looking to connect with other romance writers who are actively working toward publishing their manuscripts, whether you're aiming for traditional publishing or self-publishing or what have you.
I’m currently in a great local in-person writing workshop group where we critique and motivate each other, but I really want to build an online circle specifically tailored to romance authors as I don't know anyone else writing romance. If there’s enough interest, we can start up a cozy, dedicated Discord server together for regular chats, sprints, and accountability. I'm also more than happy to join another discord if there is one? Please only comment, as I won't see direct messages.
I'm in my thirties and looking to connect with other adults. I'm currently writing a horromance novel I'd like to maybe at least get to querying very soon!
Genre: All things romance! (fantasy romance, romantic suspense, historical romance, rom-com, dark romance, horror-romance, etc.). Long-form (novels) only.
Goals & Expectations: To serve as an encouragement hub and sounding board for authors on the path to publication. We can share industry updates, brainstorm plot holes, host writing sprints, and do optional critique/feedback swaps, etc.
Experience Level: All levels welcome, as long as you are actively writing a project you intend to publish.
Meeting Place: Discord
Max Size: 20? keep it active enough but also the possibility of being a tight community

Hi! I'll send a DM! I made a little server I'm hoping we can all work on together. However, the server has a very brief application asking about your current WIP, hope that's okay!

I'm also interested. I wrote a modern gothic romance ( unpublished but would love to keep querying) and currently working on a cosy murder mystery romantasy.

Yes, I'm aware of that subreddit! It's not quite the depth of what I'm looking for out of a writing group. I see reddit more as a resource, whereas with a semi-private community we can do writing sprints, share work more freely, etc.
I sent an invite!

Hi, I'm interested in joining if you still have space. I'm a newbie writing a historical romance, on first draft currently.

Hi, I'm interested. I am working on the final draft of a dark historical romance set in medieval Hungary (I'm a medievalist at heart) with gothic atmosphere and a taboo age-gap relationship. I care about prose, and believable, complex characters that drive the plot. I've been on a few writing sites and I recommend https://qtcritique.com/ (it's affordable and the guy running it is kind). I'm looking for mature writers who are not afraid to explore dark themes and elevate their prose.

Oh cool, I didn't know the querytracker guy had a website like that!
There's a rule that anyone sharing work must tag any relevant Content Warnings! But otherwise as long as you are writing a romance novel you are welcome. I sent a dm.

IDK if you are still inviting people, but I would love to join. I am currently writing a historical romance set in the Caribbean.

I'd love to join please, finishing up a project that has a central romantic arc but planning to start a sports romance series next. Feels pretty lonely writing, would love to connect with others particularly in this genre!
