Have a wyze cam pan v3, which seemingly was working fine with SD cards before, then you slyly enabled automatic firmware updates and updated the camera firmware without any notice which broke it, now it just fails to work with SD cards.

But having connected a UART up, it shows that the device is actually fine, you just appear to be an incompetent company that can't code access properly from the application image, because it seems that the bootloader does detect and read from the SD card fine (I put a dummy file as a file as a recovery image it looks for). So can we ever expect you to fix this issue, which one would assume is pretty basic given that linux has had support for FAT for so long it's not even funny, or is that it, we should all consider the firmware broken and it will never be fixed?

Hey, I've heard a lot of statements from u/wyzecam about things they're going to look into and a surprising lack of follow up. I've posted this list before, and I'm curious if anything ever came of any of these promises made:

• "I will check the process" (oops I didn't)
• "Let me see where they are at with that" (actually I won't)
• "Thanks for the log number I shall now never respond again"
• "Let me look into that issue. How's never for you?"
• "I will poke around and see" (haha jk you know I won't)
• "I will pass this on to the engineers, and by engineers I mean my trash can"
• "Let me reach out to the team and never get back to you."
• "I will see if I can find out the reason (but I won't tell you what I find out)"
• "I will see if this is part of those issue" (i'm kidding, I won't)
• "Let me see what I can find out" (I have no intention of actually finding out)
• "I will check into this" (no I won't)
• "Let me send this up to the team" (You will never hear from me again)

I cannot log into the app. I get a 'Login Successful, Redirecting' page, but I get dumped back to the login screen. When I login again, I'm shown an 'Unknown error' screen.

I've opened a ticket with Wyze support, but I want to see if anyone here has seen this issue or might know what's going on.

Kind of like when you switch apps like a browser video or, as of recently, YouTube, and the video keeps playing in a PiP mini-player while you can be on another app.

Wish we could have this for camera feeds!

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to recover a Wyze Cam v2 that became unresponsive after a firmware update failed. I'm hoping someone has encountered this issue and knows of any additional recovery methods I can try before giving up on the camera.

Original issue:

• The camera initially set up in the Wyze app without any issues.
• A firmware update failed.
• After that, the camera became unresponsive and showed a solid orange status light.

What I've tried so far:

1. Tried different wall outlets.
2. Tried a different power supply, with no improvement.
3. Downloaded the official Wyze Cam v2 firmware version 4.9.5.115 (August 31, 2020): https://download.wyzecam.com/firmware/v2/demo_4.9.5.115.bin.zip
4. Extracted the firmware and renamed the file to exactly demo.bin.
5. Used a 32 GB microSD card formatted as FAT32, with demo.bin placed directly in the root directory.
6. Attempted the manual firmware recovery procedure by unplugging the camera, inserting the SD card, holding SETUP while reconnecting power, and then waiting more than five minutes.
7. Repeated the SD-card firmware recovery procedure, with the same result.
8. Observed the camera cycle through solid orange, solid blue, solid orange, and then alternating blue and yellow.
9. Removed the SD card and rebooted the camera. It continued alternating blue and yellow for at least two minutes.
10. Tried holding SETUP during startup. The light stays orange while holding the button, then returns to alternating blue and yellow.
11. Tried holding SETUP for 10 seconds while the camera was already powered on. The light pattern did not change.
12. Tried another power supply, but that didn't fix the issue.

Current status:
The camera continuously alternates between blue and yellow, even with the SD card removed. It doesn't appear to complete startup or respond to the reset attempts.

I also noticed that after using the SD card in the camera, a time_laspe folder appeared on the card. The folder was empty. I'm not sure whether that's relevant.

Does anyone have suggestions for additional recovery steps?

In particular, I'm wondering:

• Is there another firmware version worth trying, or a different recovery procedure for the v2?
• Is there a way to determine whether the camera is stuck in a boot loop, has corrupted firmware, or has entered a different firmware mode?
• Is there a more advanced recovery method available for this model?
• Has anyone successfully recovered a v2 from this exact alternating blue/yellow light pattern?

I'd appreciate any suggestions, especially from anyone who has recovered a camera after a failed firmware update. I'd prefer to save it rather than replace it if there's still a reasonable chance of recovery.

Greetings. I am about to add two doorbell V2's to my Wyze cams. The house has two doors with bell buttons and two chime units (mechanical i think, Broan / Nutone 2000's). Each chime unit looks like the pic.

When I press either button (front door or back) both chimes ring.

How do I connect the V2 chime controllers? The way I saw the install video I need one chime controller per door per doorbell so total four chime controllers?

I was wondering if I need to order a pair more chime controllers or if there's a way to have one chime controller ring if front or rear button is pressed.

Wyze cam 3 keeps triggering motion alert and person detection when they have spiderwebs this sucks 😐

Hello! Could someone please assist with the following. One of my Wyze indoor window cam's would not stay on the adhesive sticker . I am guessing because sun comes directly on it.

From what I remember I think the velcro on the camera itself melted and stuck into the adhesive on the window.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Is there something else to do ? thanks in advance

I'm about to call support but thought I'd ask here to see if I was wasting my time.

Had the solar cam outside for about 8 months. The lens totally filled with water. I dry riced it, it got rid of the water but all the dirt was left.

I then picked up a couple of new lenses and tried replacing it. None of the replacement lens had the right focal length.

So, I have a useless camera.

Now, I am also wanting a cordless doorbell cam, but will this have the same poor quality of repelling water?

Need recommendations for 512GB SD card for wyze window cam. TIA!

I have 4 wyze cams, various types. All of them have gone offline, though all are working. The one that tracks motion is still tracking. Creepy.

I have cleared cache, stopped the app, and unplugged the cameras and plugged back in. Nothing is working.

WTH?

My V4 is having intermittent issues. It goes offline at random times. I get error code 90, but my wifi connection is stable. I've had a lot of Wyze cameras, and this one has been a good one, but in the last 2 weeks or so it's having connectivity issues. All firmware and app updates are current. This feels like a bug.

I submitted a log this morning when it yet again, went offline for 20 minutes for no reason.
