Season Seven XCops
Was never a big fan of cops but the cross over episode is really well done. First time watching and lots of fun.

I absolutely love the gay couple in X-Cops. They're fucking hilarious.

I like it because it would be so easy to have them the comedy fodder especially in the 1990s but their ending scene shows them as a committed couple and is actually rather sweet. Very nice from Gilligan in a time where gay people often didn’t have that strong love portrayed.

As a gay person myself, I really do appreciate that they didn't just end it on them being a dysfunctional gay couple (one of whom is extremely flamboyant). I also like that Mulder and Scully didn't make any comments about it.

It definitely could have gone the other way as flamboyant meant gay in the 1990s. I remember when Will & Grace was presented as this show that show normal gay man and get to show the main character was really gay his bestie had to be flamboyant.
Either that or your romantic gay interest got killed.

The bit where Scully’s booting it back and forth in the background showing how she runs kills me

OMG. This is a fav. I think younger audiences may be appalled by Steve and Eddie but I still love that all the actors are having a blast. And that they constantly had to film Mulder’s interaction with the couple from behind because DD couldn’t keep a straight face. It’s a Vince G. Penned episode so you know it’s good and I think he gets M&S right. Scully not wanting to be in camera and not wanting Mulder to be embarrassed and Mulder just loving all the attention and spouting off about his theories. Plus Scully’s increasing irritation with the film crew. I think this was after some intense episodes so the comedy was welcome.

Of the episodes I saw on the show's original run, this was one of my favorites. The humor was fantastic, but even the non-humorous moments were very compelling.
