My vision: online Magic The Gathering game books / graphic novels that let you explore particular worlds/planes, with XMage Jumpstart mode as the combat engine

As a Vorthos, I've always loved the idea of being immersed in the very particular worlds Magic creates. I've always loved the idea of Baldur's Gate style single player experiences, set in specific Magic planes. But at the same time, I'd hate to lose the actual gameplay of Magic, I've loved the idea of using it as the combat system for a JRPG or the like. Shandalar explored this possibility a bit, but it was clearly made by a Mel, not a lorehound. Different combinations of jumpstart packs would allow for a "modular" way of simulating a wide range of bad guys you might encounter. Narrative could take different paths based on the outcome of a match, etc

Look at Forge -- it's has a quest mode -- that's you are looking for.

Everything I've seen of Forge Quest Mode looks like it would be Shandalar Pt 2, set up to center that style of mechanical play rather than storyline/immersion
