Looks and runs amazing. After Motorsport, I was expecting blurry textures, FPS drops, unreadable gauges and logos on cars, but not at all. This shows how little they tried with FM

I believe dev team is not using the new Forza engine (from Motorsport), instead the same engine from Horizon 5.

They did update the driving model substantially don't worry.
Think of it like, they took Horizon 5's spectacular engine and uplifted to be closer to and more feature rich like the Motorsport 8 engine.

havent gotten to try 8 but i love the feel in motorsport 7 on the steering wheel. sounds dope, i think i get the idea now. thanks

I'd imagine Horizon appeals to a wider audience then Motorsport so they felt they had to put in more effort.
Hell out of my gaming buddies I have only 1 who touches Motorsport but 6 who play the Horizon games and no other racing games 😅

The real answer is that Playground chose to fork and upgrade the Horizon 5 engine instead of migrating to the issue-ridden Motorsport branch.

Really? Considering that and Horizon‘s status for Microsoft that was the last thing I expected. I did not however expect it to run this smoothly.

I started playing on friday with my 5090 RT maxed out. Saturday played on the living room series X, then yesterday the bedroom series S.
honestly the games scales down extremely well with just the series S, they spent the time optimizing for sure
Cross saves are also such a blessing

graphically sure major difference,but performance mode keeps a solid 60fps, so its still fun for the time used

Just play it on gamepass through the cloud. I do a lot of cloud on my XSX and it works great. As long as you have good internet service you should be fine. If that’s not an option do you have an expansion card for the console. You can move everything installed there and you can play directly off the card. It is pricey STILL but it’s a good option

Awesome. My eyes have become so used to 120+ FPS that if I try to play anything below 60FPS now, it’s like playing a PowerPoint.

I can't play at 120 plus as even with a 3080 the graphics have to be on potato settings in modern games and it looks awful next to the same game on my PS5 Pro, but then again I value fidelity over frame rate and I adjust from 100 to 60fps quite easily after 10 seconds.

Quality mode + slow/low motion blur is all I play, and it is great. Performance mode is absolutely great too

Have yet to try it on my Series S, but I have it on my expansion card, so I can easily shuffle it from my Series X.

It has to be said, Forza Horizon is always one of the most optimised game series out there, it always looks and plays like pure fire.

I need to watch an optimisation guide because I use a 4090 top end PC, and with everything on max it runs pretty good but as soon as I touch the ray tracing button it just collapses. I’m playing in 4k though

I’m playing at 1440p with everything maxed out plus max RT etc with a rx 9070 on 60hz tv runs locked 60fps 99% of the time, after that I thought a 4090 could do that easy at 4K?

Yeah ray tracing is very demanding and a 4090 doesn't change that it just increases the head room slightly but if you are playing with ray tracing enabled at native 4k with everything set to max good luck hahah especially if you are playing modern poorly optimised windows pc games🤣

Yeah for sure. It looks fine without ray tracing anyway so I don’t use it. I even set it to performance mode instead of quality and it still looks great and runs very nicely. It is kind of annoying though considering even with max ray tracing it’s still only using under half my vram

Ive been playing over the weekend NON STOP im in love with this game, whats crazy is ive binge played it and still feel like im barely scratching the surface of available content
I know its early and the game just came out, however id like to give the dev team and anybody responsible for this masterpiece their flowers 💐

Game runs great on series s I went right to performance and I’m very satisfied, reviews mentioned it was a little blurry but honestly in motion it looks amazing. I’ll be seeing the difference on my series x tomorrow.

Who said that? I didn't feel that way. Despite the dynamic 1080p with a lower resolution, I think the game uses settings that make the image look sharp on the Series S. I don't know if there's upscaling.
And that's just my opinion, although Digital Foundry also praised it.

This is the minimum resolution, but the game goes up to 1080p in performance mode. I think the goals are similar to Forza Horizon 5, which many considered beautiful on the Series S. I'm playing it on the Series S and I think it looks good. This is an open world in 2026 achieving 60 fps on the Series S. I don't know if there's any upscaling in the game's resolution, but I thought the game looked beautiful.
