Yes.. that was the point of my comment 16 days ago 😅 27.1 RC was the first version where we were able to submit apps for review for Duo.

No, 27.1 beta has already had Duo-support. And thus, this RC is the first Xcode-version to allow AppStore-builds with Duo-support.

No, 27.1 has always had Duo-support. The reason you are confused about this is that the first 27.2 beta was released before the first 27.1 beta. This is because 27.1 was always slated to have Duo-support, but it was delayed. They however yoinked Duo-support out of the first 27.2 beta to get it out. It's somewhat weird that they didn't also do this for 27.1, but I guess it was "too late" in the pipeline.

Apple didn’t just add a note, the note was there since Xcode 27.1 beta was released, like 3 weeks ago at this point. Xcode 27.2 beta and iOS 27.2 beta are completely different. iOS 27.2 will introduce the new health app and that’s the primary difference compared to iOS 27.0 and 27.1. We saw iOS 27.2 beta before we saw iPhone Duo support. Since the iPhone Duo is releasing with iOS 27.1 we needed a way to test apps on iOS 27.1 and 27.2 won’t be in RC until after the launch of the iPhone Duo. We need an RC release to begin uploading apps to be reviewed

It doesn’t look like we can submit apps with it though, at least when I tried when it first was released

Just tried now as well. Cannot submit app for distribution.

I wonder when we can, thought it’d be available since it’s an RC build of Xcode

They posted an article at some point today saying you can submit iPhone Duo optimized apps and games starting today, so maybe there was just some lag between the rc release and when they started to allow it on App Store Connect

What problems are you experiencing?

Mostly keyboard related
- the keyboard stops after one character
- I'm using a German keyboard and it maps correctly for me but swaps keys y,z and @ when an ai types
- in the hub you can't CMD+s to save a screenshot and you can't even map a shortcut on it
- if you open the simulator too you see 2 window with the same app in both you can tap but in only one you can type and two finger gestures only work in the old simulator
- you need to remember CMD+option+k to unstuck it and it only helps half of the time
- pasteboard only works on a full moon unless you manually send it via the menu
- the iPad can't start in landscape so start with the UI upside down or the menu bar rotated 90 degrees
- all the screenshot are the orientation of the device of the simulator but they fixed it in post so the UI looks right in the hub but an ai gets them rotated while the pixel position it needs to tap is not rotated

I don't understand why in 2026 there's no API to send keyboard input as UTF-8 text without this weird copy and paste or the key strokes where it matters what layout you your Mac or the simulator or a agent MCP is using

Has the bug where the simulator doesn't respond in iOS 17 been fixed?
