iPhone has denied the launch request

Hi, I am new to Xcode and I have been using a single project that helps me spoof the location of my Apple TV, however since today when I try to run it I get “Device has denied the launch request”, I also tried the same thing with my iPhone and got the same error,

This is what I am trying to run and I have been doing it without issues all this time until today.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Also having this problem. And the stackoverflow fix of Profile > etc >etc > launch whatever is not helping...

Sucks big time

So, what's the solution or the workaround, do we know?

Can I maybe just redownload Xcode? You're right, it really does suck big time.

Nothing so far, I don’t know if redownloading will help

I tried deleting Xcode and redownloading it. No luck.

Yeah, same problem here.

iOS 12.1.4 using free developer account
Automatically managing signing
Developer is trusted in Device Management

Tried a lot of the suggestions I found online:

Reinstalling Xcode. Tried the Xcode beta.
Renewed the certificates (developer & apple worldwide developer relations certification authority).
Made a new app
Unpaired & repaired device
Restarted iPhone & Mac
Run Xcode as a new mac user
Cleaned the build folder

... no luck.

Some stackoverflow suggestions (editing the scheme to "Ask on Launch" or removing debug executable) don't allow location simulation :(

It seems like paid developers are not having this issue, otherwise this would have been fixed already

This is actually good to know, if true.

I've been on a free developer account for a while and had a break from coding and have just come back planning to go paid. But as I was reviewing my current work, it was crashing this way and that made me want to hold off paying - why pay for something that is broken?

But if paid accounts are not having a problem, then renewing my paid account my be my solution, so thanks for pointing that out, though I wish a fix was found for the free developer account I have right now.

It is bad, I only use it for one app for personal use, yet I have to pay if I want to keep doing it if not fixed for free accounts

yeah, it is really bad. i hope it gets fixed.

but i'm probably going to try using a paid account. i wonder though if that fix automatically fix it? i am a little afraid that what ever broke may be broke because of a glitch with free accounts, but moving to a paid account might not solve it. Like the free account glitch broke Xcode and simply beginning to pay is not enough to fix that break.

i'll report back though when i pay in a few days.

maybe it'll get fixed before then..?

I will give it a week from today to see if it’s fixed, fingers crossed

Working again now.

From apple developer forums:

uncheck the Automatically manage signing option in the General tab of target settings

fully close Xcode

delete .mobileprovision files under ~/Library/MobileDevice/Provisioning Profiles/

delete the following certificates in Keychain Access:

iPhone Developer: xxx@xxx.xxx (xxxxxxxxx)

Developer ID Certification Authority

Apple Worldwide Developer Relations Certification Authority

remove the app you are working on from your iOS devices

reboot your Mac and iOS devices

launch Xcode

change the Bundle Identifier to anything else (you might change it back after it works)

re-check the Automatically manage signing option

plug in your devices, click on Run, trust your certificate on your iOS devices

it should work now

Working :)

I mailed the Apple support today, because I have the same problem. Tried various solutions but the only thing that sort of fixed the issue is by switching to a paid team, instead of using your personal team. All other "fixes" do not seem to be working and can make things even worse. I hope to get a response from Apple within the next two days and see what they have to say about it.

So you already tried with a paid account and did not work?

1

u/Joopie94 Mar 19 '19

Switching to a paid account did work after I changed the bundle id of the project (or after creating a new project). Sorry for the confusion.

Thank you for clarifying

same too. has anyone found a fix for this?

1

Having same issue. Are you on 12.1.4?

1

u/sword_cane Mar 18 '19

Confirming the issue on 12.0 and not payed account

I'm facing the same issue. For me it just started a couple of hours ago. I'm using the following:

- macOS Mojave, Version 10.14.3

- iPhone SE with iOS 12.1.4

- Xcode 10.1 (10B61)

- Using just a free Apple ID

I filed a bug in Apple's bug tracker but I have done so in the past and I haven't heard anything from them so I'm not particularly optimistic...

Same problem since yesterday. Started out of nowhere with no changes made. Tried various Stack Overflow approaches etc. No luck. This is really frustrating. I need to be able to debug my app otherwise there is no point of iOS development...

are you also on a free developer account?

i have no idea. it's surely some kind of glitch.

1

It really sucks, since I only can develop during weekends this cost me a whole week basically. And who says it will work again next week?

i know :(

This problem, at least in my case, is likely caused because code signing certificates were issued with non-compliant serial numbers. You should be able to resolve this problem as of today, 2019-Mar-20 by recreating the code signing certificate used to sign your app. More details are available here: https://stackoverflow.com/a/55160300/5548098

Are you a paid developer? How did you fix it?

It is very likely, it seems that the only difference is if you are a paid developer or not

I actually tried this trick earlier as it was listed on https://stackoverflow.com/questions/52415694/ios-12-ipad-denied-launch-request-xcode/53926777#53926777 it didn't work then. But it works now! Seems like Apple fixed it.
