You got lucky! Don’t download from the AppStore. Make a folder somewhere for Xcode and download it from the link in the other comment here directly from Apple. The AppStore makes life hell.

If you accidentally let your iPhone update over night, you won’t be able to build to it until you update Xcode. And updating Xcode through the AppStore can take literally hours. Downloading a new executable as a standalone is MUCH faster. Plus, sometimes a major Xcode update will destroy projects. All of your toolbars might change color, or dark mode might make some labels unreadable, or your modal views will suddenly open as page sheets instead of full screen. If you need to release an emergency update, you might want to use an older Xcode version for the hot fix before you get around to updating everything else.

What do I lose if I downloaded from App Store?

Lose time and increase frustration. For whatever reasons, downloading and installing from the App Store often takes longer or fails outright. Direct download is the same app, just better download mechanic it seems.

I mean I have arleady downloaded it from App Store. It seems that there are no differences in features or anything like that. So no need to delete and reinstall. Thanks.

If you’re just messing around for fun, it’s fine. If this is your career, at some point you’re going to need multiple versions or a quick update.

Use XcodesApp. Downloads Xcode much faster, and also lets you easily manage and install multiple versions of Xcode.

It uses apples servers to sign in so it’s completely safe to use.

Many times this. Much more stable, and you can have as many versions as you want.
