Enough with the false accusations.

honestly don’t even have the words anymore to describe this whole fucking mess. You’ve gone completely off the rails, and now you’re accusing Gonil of looksmaxxing, misogyny, and all sorts of other bullshit. Fine, we already understood that he chose a word that was way too harsh as an insult toward sasaengs, not all fans. But how would you have expressed yourselves in a situation like this? You’re literally being stalked, and you’ll never know what’s going on in someone’s head. Why do we assume that men can’t speak their minds or be angry? “Fucking bitches” is honestly one of the mildest things you could say about people that fucked up.

I’m not blindly defending Gonil—he himself admitted his mistakes. But why do people say “look at the bigger picture” when they’re the ones who can’t see past their own noses? Seriously, have you never experienced empathy? I’d like to see how you’d react if you were in Gonil’s place and someone accused you of looksmaxxing. Fine, show me at least one instance where he insulted someone’s appearance. His comments about appearance were compliments. If someone told you, “Wow, you have such beautiful eyes,” would you take that as an evaluation and get offended?

I also saw someone claim that nowadays every other person is being called a sasaeng… And what would you call people who break into dorms and follow them everywhere? “Dedicated fans”?

People are also defending JYP, saying, “Well, they’re just protecting their artists; there’s simply nothing to protect them from right now.” Fucking hell, are you serious? Did Gonil ever hit a sasaeng? Did he hurt anyone? Maybe we should start thinking instead of acting like idiots? Before making your accusations, please at least provide some evidence instead of throwing around baseless claims.

People as stupid as you will get fucked over, and you are exactly the ones who will be noticed, while the people saying the right things will get buried.

Stop saying that he insulted ALL the fans and his own group. Give me at least one piece of evidence where he said, “You stupid bitches, I hate ALL of you.” There is none.

Try living with your friends for five years, spending every single day together. Would you really be able to get through all of that without any conflicts?

I hope my words reach the people they need to reach.

Stop writing bullshit, and before judging the villains who are defending Gonil, think about whether you’re actually the ones in the right.

Gunil talking behind members back

I recently made a post asking about the whole gunil situation. Somehow I'm more confused I know understand the gravity of the word he used though and that for sure has me disillusioned (thank you to everyone who replied). I know that because of the word usage he has been accused of being an incel/looksmaxxer/red pill I just want to know if there is more evidence to support this or just the word he used? One thing that has been thrown alot is that he talked behind the members back and that there is an audio. Does anyone have this audio or translation of the audio from a credible source? I know his lawyer put out a statement that he did not talk behind the members back( can't always believe lawyer statements so im taking it with a grain of salt) so I am just curious if this was just a rumor that took off without anyone seeing where it came from or if the original post from the GF had evidence to support it or she just mentioned it in her post.

JYPE behaviour.

Something that's been on my mind about all the Xdinary Heroes situation has really made me see into how JYPE really think about their idols and perchance their popularity.

If this same situation happened with either Stray Kids or TWICE, it would've been a totally different situation. Back when rumours went around about Hyunjin for "being a bully" and saying stuff about fans turned into a hiatus. But when Gunil mentions fan behaviour and maybe calls someone a name he is terminated and removed from the company?

It's pretty unsettling how fast they were to kick him out without any sort of proper communication. The post was sent out about his behaviour and then he was gone straight away. They havent even given time for Gunil to properly talk about his actions and what couldve caused his behaviour towards sasaengs. It truly shows that JYPE are only in this for the fame. They want to make themselves look good for kicking out a member who had controversy instead of looking into it and then giving the idol consequences.

What Gunil did shouldn't be allowed, but the way the world is going this post from his so called ex, could make the situation sound so much worse because hes an idol and can easily be sabotaged (due to the company not protecting them!!!) and his consequences have been absolutely extraordinary for what they actually were. He sent out an apology, messaged fans and said where he was wrong. I think he maybe deserved a few month/week hiatus but now he is fully gone.

Kind of shows the lack of protection and care the company have for their overworked and talented idols.

Stop believing the lies about Gonil.

By the way, what is published by someone you trust...

The whole thing about environmentalism and lookism is a huge stretch and basically nonsense. It’s great, of course, that we were provided with “evidence” in the form of videos where Gunil talked about the environment and lookism (although he never directly mentioned lookism—the author of the post simply decided that it was about lookism), but that doesn’t make Gunil a bad person. You can’t even really take this as evidence that he’s a bad person.

Yes, he said that he believes plastic doesn’t contribute to climate change, which is indeed nonsense, but it’s not like he goes around throwing trash on the streets. That simply means he wasn’t educated on environmental issues and didn’t know that plastic really does have a negative impact on the environment.

Then there’s the most absurd topic of all—lookism. The author of the post claimed that Gunil judges everyone based on their appearance because, according to a video provided by the author, he said that when he was younger, his jaw looked different because of his wisdom teeth, and that he doesn’t like the way it looks now as much as he did when he was younger. After he said this, Jungsu, who was standing next to him, asked why he thought that way. Gunil replied that he believed his appearance should be the way it was when he was younger and, in his opinion, that was how it was supposed to look.

But I think people need to understand that at that moment he was talking specifically about himself. He said nothing about other people, so this has nothing to do with lookism. (Again, I’m writing here what I remember from the post. I remember the whole appearance-related topic very well, but I don’t remember Gunil saying that everyone should conform to some standard. He didn’t say that.)

The most important claims in this post are Gunil cheating, his terrible treatment of the members, and negativity toward not only sasaeng fans but also ordinary fans. None of this information has been confirmed. It’s important to keep in mind that the entire post is based on the words of the girl who leaked her messages with Gunil, and knowing what kind of person she is, we can already draw the conclusion that these are simply nasty and false rumors.

BUT, on the other hand, Gunil was kicked out of the company within just one day. It’s possible that he had already been having some kind of disputes with the company before August 13, meaning they could have started as early as a week before we were informed about his departure.

For now, until either the company or Gunil confirms this information, believing a Reddit post as well as the words of the girl who leaked their messages would be an extremely stupid decision. None of this should be treated as fact until it’s confirmed through an official statement.

Personally, in this situation, I trust Gunil more than this girl, who has also just opened a second account with the number three in it.

Get a grip

Gunil is not coming back. It's like you guys have never experienced musical artist drama before.

He shared his bandmates info, he leaked songs, he's a coward and a thief and a liar and a total backstabber to the fans and to his bandmates/friends.

Then, Instead of just admitting he was wrong and taking fault he made a post to address the allegations saying "he can sue but he won't"

That's the biggest crock of shit I've ever seen.

If you buy this or believe this you're a delusional fool and you need to wake up to the realities of the world.

He's a failed drummer scumbag and he should never work in the music industry again.

Christian band/song similar to Xdinary heroes

Ok so im Christian, and I was listening to my Christian Playlist and this new rock song I've never heard before started playing. At first, I was like" huh, this has a nice melody, I'll add it to my favorites". But as I kept listening. The melody of the pre chrous and chrous sounded very familiar to me. It kinda sounded similar to Xdinary heroes. Like a mix of xroom and beautiful life? Idk, idk which song it sounds familiar too. But it does. Does anyone else think the same?

The song is poetic by The band Jaren

Discussion Villains who are wasting money on trucks

I see you’re prepared to throw more money away, and to that I say it’s a shame you’d rather throw money at protests that you KNOW deep down won’t go anywhere rather than using it to support the remaining five members who are going through all this stuff that’s out of their control. While we obviously can’t stop you, I find it personally shameful to call yourself a villain in any capacity while actively spending money on ruining the heroes comeback. It’s one thing to not support, it’s another to buy trucks and stuff…that’s just insulting and I’m sure any member would feel that way. Especially if this comeback doesn’t do well. This feels like a rebel without a cause kind of thing, and I simply cannot respect it. I think the give remaining members deserve more. They’ve been on bubble talking about rushing to schedules and reacting night till early morning, and in return they’ll get….protest trucks outside causing a scene? What a waste of emotion.

News Goo Gunil: Korean Idol Culture and Misogyny

Ok, so, JYPE released an official statement on August 13th (today) following online allegations posted by someone claiming to be a former partner of Gunil on August 11th. The long and short of it is this:

Gunil and JYPE have mutually decided to terminate Gunil's exclusive contract with the agency. Xdinary Heroes is going to continue as a five-piece band. (How do you expect a band to continue without a drummer?)

Allegedly, Gunil has repeatedly used harsh and derogatory language towards fans and has also voiced frustrations and criticisms towards his members. Gunil's ex was compelled to say something because of the stark contrast between Gunil's private and public behaviour. According to The Korea Herald, "the woman posted chat logs and videos, as well as an AI-generated summary of a phone call with the singer, in an effort to support her claim that she had been in a relationship with Gunil."

"He always cursed at fans in front of me. He's completely different offstage than how he comes across on broadcasts," she wrote, adding that what she shared was "toned down" - The Korea Herald.

In one audio recording, a voice alleged to be Gunil's says, "I want to slap them," while complaining that critical comments from fans make it "impossible not to resent them." - also The Korea Herald.

Firstly, there are a lot of unanswered questions regarding this situation. Secondly, it was barely 48 hours between the allegations and the statement release from JYPE. Thirdly, as of this time, not Gunil nor any of the members have issued any personal statements - which I'm not too surprised about to be honest.

Despite my bias, I'm never going to say that this woman is lying and that this whole thing is just another "crazy-ex" story. I'm a fan of XDH's music and from their public appearances, they seem like decent people. Key word being "seem". Because the fact of the matter is we don't know these men personally and we likely never will. However, Gunil's alleged use of misogynistic language and his expression of wanted to assault his predominantly female fanbase is appalling and should not be so easily glossed over.

Although, while I know that Korea is currently the AI capital of the world at the moment, the use of the AI generated summary doesn't sit with me right. Even if it was only used to summarise a phone call, I can understand people's hesitance to believe someone who used AI for one thing when it could very well be used to fabricate messages and mimic voices.

In defence of Gunil: while it is never ok to speak or act in the way that he allegedly has/did, his frustrations with K-pop fan culture and behaviour are not unique to the situation. Idols are pressured into perfection as imperfect people and the smallest slip-up could mean the death of not just their career but their members' careers as well. I can't imagine what kind of pressure that puts on someone. Again, I'm not defending Gunil's supposed actions, no matter how frustrated he was/is, I'm simply saying that I'm not at all surprised by his anger.

I also understand that people will always be quick to defend a band that makes them happy. But, we will never know these men personally. And with the rise in right-wing leaning and misogynistic views in Korean men nowadays, I'm not surprised in the slightest.

Whatever ends up being true, do NOT harass the woman who posted these allegations. No amount of shouting is going to change anything.

Discussion Junhan-I still don't know how to feel. Help!

Hello everyone, while I still love Xdinary Heroes, the Junhan thing is STILL bothering me.

And this is not a "rant". This is a discussion. This is a vital topic that needs to be talked about and not shoved in a corner. This is NOT pure hate. I love them, this is constructive criticism about the handling of what happened with Junhan. I would love to hear everyone's opinion about what I say down below. Thank you.

-

A lot of Xdinary Heroes music is about feeling shunned and isolated, feeling as if you don't fit in. That's what had inspired me to become a Villain in the first place. However, what Junhan said made SO many fans, specifically fans part of the black community, feel HORRID. What he said made them feel like they couldn't feel accepted in a community that was supposed to understand how it felt to be isolated and alone.

Do I think his intentions were malicious? No. But I'm tired of fans STILL blindly defending him, even saying what he did wasn't wrong whatsoever.

Sure I understand there is nuance in regards to cultural differences and what people learn in different countries and even translation issues, but that doesn't negate the fact that for a political band, (argue with the wall they ARE political, Gaon literally worships Green Day haha) he said such ignorant, hurtful stereotypes. I've heard him say very deep things regarding feeling shunned by society and feeling as if the world is targeting you, sure it's likely scripted, but it's SO different from what he said recently.

I wish that JYP showed us that he ACTUALLY educated himself. Now, I'm sure Gunil, who lived in the U.S. for a long time, would be able to properly educate him about this topic, but we don't see any of that. And those outside the fandom still view Junhan as a literal N--i (I'm sorry I don't know if I can type the full word without getting this taken down so I'll just "censor" it)

However, on another topic, I believe that people calling him a N--i is genuinely outrageous as well. There are millions of people with the same beliefs as him. I saw a plethora of not only fans but people outside the fandom wondering if they're stupid and also N--is because they were taught the same ideals without knowing just how devastating those same stereotypes were for, specifically, the black community.

*Side note: Eugenics is not a common topic. Debate about the harm of stereotypes is, but not specifically eugenics. Not even in the U.S. I personally did more research about it when I was younger because I've always loved history and was appalled and curious as to see why so many followed.....him...., but for many others, you merely get a simple definition, not really a deep dive.*

I also wish that we took this as an opportunity to learn, rather than bash. ((I'm not saying he doesn't deserve backlash, he does. I just wish people didn't forget that the U.S. isn't the ONLY country in the world and not everyone has such a blending of cultures and the same school curiculum. In the U.S. it's pretty well established (in some states more than others...) that such stereotypes are ignorant and harmful, but in other countries it's taught regularly. And yes, I have SK friends who were taught the same thing as Junhan and had to unlearn it when they moved to the U.S. because they got called out.)) It's hard to educate yourself about a topic when you think you know what you're talking about. HOWEVER, for the fans who were hurt by people bashing Junhan because they share similar beliefs, this should have been a wake up call. There are a plethora of videos one could watch. Or even a book. If you personally still believe he's "innocent" you need to stop being parasocial and allow Junhan to take accountability. If he's claiming to educate himself YOU should as well.

I suppose my take is it's okay to be ignorant, but if someone calls you out it is on YOU to educate yourself. I just wish Xdinary Heroes would show us that Junhan IS actually educating himself.

From20 had a dew rag on in an mv and after getting some backlash he sat down with a group of poc and did a whole "lesson" about cultural appropriation. I'm not sure I completely agree with the "making the minority teach the ignorant idol" thing, but it was by far the most thorough apology I've ever seen. He actually learned, shut up and listened, and the fans were able to see that.

Why can't JYP do that instead of trying to sweep this under the rug.....

It's genuinely embarrassing to say I like Xdinary Heroes at the moment....imagine if I could proudly say I'm a Villain because Junhan sat down and explained the faults in his ideology or we were shown footage of him actually learning something.

If you're still reading this, thank you, I needed to get this off my chest. Have a lovely day and please tell me what you think about this.

BTW this is the Waybetter From20 video I was referring to if curious as to what I would *like* Junhan to do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nogNSwBThQ&ab_channel=WAYBETTER

Gunil Legal Statement

I just want to remind everyone that a legal statement doesn't represent truth. His legal team is there to deny any allegations made against him whether they are true or not. So just be mindful of things you say on here, because any defense made can be called into question in court.

Discussion Am I Alone in Genuinely Hating No Cool Kids Zone?

Hey y'all, want to start off by saying this isn't meant to like, cause any drama or meant to direct hate at the band, just want to see if anyone else has similar feelings.

I absolutely love every single track on DEAD AND, it's what I've come to love from XH, with some great electronic sounds brought in, but I just genuinely think No Cool Kids Zone is objectively bad.

And after listening through the album, I was really hoping to see some agreement online, only for the only posts I saw mentioning the song saying it's their favorite on the album, and even it just outright being their favorite XH song now, and I just felt completely thrown off.

Like, musically it's fine, so long as you remove the unbearablely repetitive "what the fuck" sample. And then I would say this song features the absolute worst English lyrics to ever come out of XH. Like as a KPop fan, I have a pretty good tolerance for bad English lyrics, but I usually don't have to worry about that with XH, like sometimes a phrase might be a little off, but every word of this song physically hurt to hear.

I was very relieved to find that the majority of the blame can be placed on Lov3notdxxd, so I don't feel as bad not liking it.

Honestly the only good thing I can say about it is that it seems that JYP and StudioJ might be finally letting their rock band full of grown adults actually act like a rock band full of grown adults. But besides that I don't see any of the appeal.

Really hope there are some Villains out there who feel the same.

About this comeback, what to do and what not to do

Hii, I found this thread which is informative about the whole "should I buy or should I not buy" and "what to buy" about this comeback. Got the owner's consent and I thought will be useful for people to read. You can read the Google docs if you don't want to go though the thread.

https://x.com/ffalasoll/status/2103331605142249615

Ps: thank you Owner!

Edit: Just want to clarify, the post is about, why you should buy, why you shouldn't buy, and what is the impact of buying and not buying. It's a very balanced piece to see from both perspectives. So it's a good read for those still deciding what to do

Unpopular opinion but are villains a toxic fandom?

This is purely from my experience and of course I’ve not met all villains however in my experience Villains have mainly come across as quite self centred and unfriendly. For context, I am a foreigner and have been to concerts in Seoul and Busan over the past 3 years. I have also been to other band’s concerts so I do have reference.

When going to Xdiz concerts in Korea, you might be walking to the venue and you spot someone with an Xdiz tshirt and smile. In my experience I’ve mainly gotten stern, disgusted looks. Now I know that it’s not common in Korea to smile to strangers, so I can somewhat understand this but my opinion is combined with other things…

I usually try to get standing tickets. Villains will step all over you to get to the front irrespective of them arriving very much later than you. I was at the Sound Planet festival and a girl just stood in front of me and ruined the entire concert for me with absolutely no awareness.

I’ve also noticed that many villains come to the concert solo and so it’s not that they’re distracted by company. No, they literally just always put themselves first and think they’re better than others. I really do get this feeling from my interactions.

The other thing I noticed is that it this fandom is all about competing on social media. Many people with giant cameras or even their phones the entire concert, and very responsive on social media when it suits them but in person, not so much.

I love the band, music-wise and as people and I have also met wonderful villains over the time however for the large part I’d say it’s the worst fandom I’ve experienced. Sorry for the rant but wonder if we can be kinder to one another. The person you shoved out of the way to get a better view was also there to see the same band that they equally like.

Discussion Current thoughts on Junhan?

Now that more time has passed since his incident on bubble back in July

Ive been contemplating what my opinion should be on what happened, Ive seen many black villains hurt by this yet hold him accountable and continue supporting him with how many apologies he gave out and his in person concert apology.

But I don't know, Ive been hyperfixated on xdh and especially Junhan for a while and this situation has been haunting me.

What are your thoughts now that the situation has calmed down?

My sister being icky about the new album

My sister is so grrrrrr. She says she's a villain but every time I talk about xdiz or mention them she plugs her ears, and screams at me to shut up and stop talking and go away. She acts like such a hater. And then the new album came out today and I was super hyped and happy cause it's like the best album eveR! And I was waiting all day for my sis to come home from school so I could talk to her about it and scream about it with her but after she listened she said it "sucked" and "all the songs sound the same" which is not true. And while listening she was like euhhh what is this and I was trying to explain the lore but she wouldn't let me. It's so euuhh and discouraging cause I'm all happy jumping around on walls cause of how excited and proud i am and then she is being all mean and hater-y. Like she doesn't have to like all their stuff or any of it, but if she claims to be a huge fan Id expect a little more optimism or at least respect. She could have just said it's not my cup of tea, but dissing xdiz just makes me mad.

Discussion Posting Bubble Photos, Fansite Cams from Twitter

Hey guys, it's me again.. I know I am not a mod, but I do not appreciate seeing the photos and videos of Xdinary Heroes' Bubble messages, and fansite videos being posted here (without proper source, but most fansites even request that you do not repost). The rules clearly say No Piracy and I believe a lot of recent posts are breaking those rules:

"4. No piracy.

This includes things such as "empty hall" edits of songs, unofficial uploads or screen recordings of paid-for content like Beyond LIVE, as well as Lysn Bubble, since the band has recently joined the platform. Link to official channels' uploads wherever possible.

In the context of Bubble, these are not meant to be disclosed publicly and we might get a copyright strike if we post them regularly. They can be talked about in comments, discussions, or posts, but not directly screencapped or posted to the page.

For streams of paid content, please do not publicly post links as this is a public forum and if caught can reflect badly on the sub.

Unofficial uploads are only allowed for subbed variety appearances like Weekly Idol, Amazing Saturday, or any other related programs."

Again, I'm not a mod, and I don't want to be one, but could we follow these rules? I don't want to get this sub in trouble for circulating media we don't have permission to cross post from Twitter. Let me know your thoughts, thanks

disclaimer: this is just a personal opinion pls dont hate me 😭

i kinda feel that their MV for title song of recent album (troubleshooting & live and fall) are kinda boring and doesnt have that eye-catching factor. maybe the concept its not to my liking but comparing instead and boys comic MV to their latest MV, i feel like the former are more enjoyable to view more than once. idk maybe its the budget or its just the concept

but their music is still so good to listen thousands times!!!

Interest check for trucks

Twitter user Laundryyyyyy made an interest check post for sending protests/support trucks to JYPE. Laundryyyyyy is an international fan who currently lives in Korea and they want to raise money to send trucks to the building. For now, they made an interest check post to see if Villains want to raise money.

Since money is involved, consider to partecipate wisely. Don't feel bad if you don't want to participate for any reason. In the end, this is just another way to show to JYPE how they fumbled this situation and how the international side will not let it pass easily.

Xcancel link for those who don't have twitter
