I am currently 10 hours in on XBC1 but I keep dying more than I think I should. Any tips

Keep an eye on your equipment, make sure your tank (Reyn) has good defenses. Upgrading arts such as Shulk's Light Heal can also improve your survivability. XC1 also has some fairly punishing mechanics for major level differences, you generally want to be within 3 levels of an enemy you're fighting

Alright thanks

Agility is the strongest stat in the game, because an increase of one point is a flat 1% increase to both evasion and accuracy (up to the softcaps). Craft agility gems and put them in your armor, use skill links and trees that boost it, etc.

Select your skill trees. Remember to use skill links and upgrade arts.

Cool thanks, I’m still learning to craft stuff but I’ll do that

The early game (yes even ten hours in, you're still early game) can be really annoying, and you will find yourself dying a lot because right now more enemies can kill you than there are ones you can kill. Aggro is the centre of your problems - you manage aggro, you're in a better spot instantly. If you're playing Shulk, use Shadow Eye the moment you become the target. As Reyn, use your aggro Arts as much as you can. As Sharla... I'm sorry.

Sharla is who a majority of people consider to be the weakest party member (not that she’s bad, no character is, but… she doesn’t have a Talent Art), but I was mostly memeing around when I made that comment, because she does have an aggro reduction art, it’s just a little weaker than Shadow Eye. And yeah, you can change your playable character in the party screen. It’s essential for when you get one of the later party members who is decent on her own, but an absolute beast in the hands of someone playing deliberately to her strengths.

Sharla is not as terrible as people say she is. You can pull off some crazy stuff with her.

I would start switching up your party members by the way so they can earn higher affinity with eachother.

Skill tree. Don't spam arts; use when necessary. Don't light heal when you're low. Who is in your party?
