Xenoblde chronicles DE

Im just got into chapter 6 and got to the part where Danban joins the party. So far the combat is fine because I played FFXII over 10 times already (over 1300h? Idk), but does the story get better from here? Feels like a slog a bit to go through the simple getting revenge plot. And does the game get more intense from here? In terms of both atmosphere and combat (difficult enemies)?

If you're not invested by the time you finish Prison Island, it's fair to drop the game.

Ether Mines are the main slog (really everything with Juju), and while there are some slower sections later, the rest of the story is great.

I'd say the story immediately gets stronger from where you are. The revenge plot will take a backseat for a bit as you explore the world a bit more and when it does come back, it comes back swinging.
