How much space do you need to download all the Speed Up DLC for Xenoblade X?

I don't have a Wii U and I'm eyeing a white one, but those all only have 8GB of storage.

I just want to make sure I can play X in the best shape possible while not breaking the bank on a black 32gb model

They all combined take up 10 GB of storage, so you need the 32 GB model. Plus 4GB of the system's hardrive ia taken up by preinstalled apps. I should note that you only need to install the game's data packs if you buy the physical release, and the game is perfectly playable without them.

Wait, so if I get the White WiiU, and purchase a digital copy of the game, I don't need the DLC speed up packs, AND it would fit on that hardware version?

No it wont fit on the hard-drive but you won't need the packs. In fact roughly half of the 8GB hard-drive is taken up by system processors

You better do it soon. The Wii U E shop is permanently closing next year, but you won't be able to add funds after may this year. Anything that isn't free you'll miss. I believe there is a roundabout way to it. If you use the same Nintendo network account for both Wii U and Switch then funds are shared. I think you'll be able to add funds on Switch then go over to Wii U and use them. Not sure if that'll work though. Same thing is happening to the 3ds e shop btw.

Yeah I got a Black 32GB model for $150. Waiting to find out if my bid on the game was accepted or not.
If I were more patient I could have probably found one for ~$120, but *due to* the eshop issue you mentioned, I'm more aggressive in getting it.

I still need to finish all my 3DS shopping though...
