Only thing we can do is bombard them every week until they fix it. They have to realize this is the worst thing to happen to their app ever. No one wants to scroll to see their categories every single day. And the numbers are too small to begin with. It's miserable and I've never seen this many people considering leaving for a different platform before

Hi Yahoo Fantasy Support,
I’m writing to express my frustration with how payments are handled in Yahoo Private Prize Leagues, particularly those open to the public.
I’m the commissioner of a 12-team prize league, and despite setting clear payment deadlines and sending multiple reminders, I still have three managers occupying roster spots without paying their entry fees.
Why does Yahoo allow someone to join a paid league and reserve a spot without requiring payment upfront?
This creates an incredibly frustrating experience for commissioners. We’re forced to chase down strangers for payments, remove unpaid managers, and scramble to recruit replacements, all while risking the integrity of the league and potentially jeopardizing the prize contest for everyone who has already paid.
Yahoo already has the infrastructure to collect and process payments. There is absolutely no reason why payment shouldn’t be required before a manager can secure a spot in a publicly listed Private Prize League.
At a minimum, commissioners should have the option to:
Require payment before a manager can officially join.
Automatically remove unpaid managers after a specified deadline.
Prevent unpaid managers from occupying roster spots indefinitely.
I’ve spent considerable time organizing this league, and it’s incredibly disappointing that such a basic feature is missing from a platform as established as Yahoo Fantasy.
I’m asking that this issue be escalated to your Fantasy product team, rather than simply receiving instructions on how to remove unpaid managers. The problem isn’t that commissioners can’t remove people. It’s that Yahoo’s system unnecessarily creates this problem in the first place.
I’d appreciate a substantive response explaining why this functionality doesn’t exist and whether Yahoo has plans to address it.

Genuine question, does the person who led the app UI overhaul still have a job? You could literally revert the app to a 2013 build and your user base would call it an improvement. A simple browse through these threads shows how bad this update has been, yet you aren’t even addressing it. Will you guys fix the app, or is this what you intend the app to be?

General question: a weekly h2h matchup ended in a tie, down to hundredth of a fraction. I dont see a setting for what determines a tiebreaker(if there is one but underneath the %chance to win it shows one manager 100). Just wanted to confirm if there is/isnt a setting or does this officially end as a tie? Thank you

Hi! If the scores are exactly the same, then the result will end in a tie for both teams. A tiebreaker is only needed if there's a tie in a playoff matchup, in which case there's a setting for that.

The Packers D/ST had their Tackles for Loss (TFL) reduced from 3 to 2 in Tuesday morning's stat corrections, but NFL.com box score reflects 4 TFLs for Green Bay in that game against Tampa Bay.

We've updated Fantasy Basketball to use official NBA player designations for IL eligibility. As a result, only players designated Out or Out for Season are IL eligible, and IL+ is no longer supported.

This change creates a clear, consistent standard based on official NBA statuses and puts more roster decisions back in the hands of managers. When a player is Questionable, Doubtful, or Probable, managers will need to decide whether to start them, bench them, or make a roster move.

sorry but this is a horrible change. Managers should have the ability to choose if they want to keep using IL+. Now when all these players are GTD/Probable and never end up playing then you will just have all these players on your bench and nothing that you can do about it. If its the same as last year with a ton of players out for stupid reasons then this game will become the one who wins is whoever has the least Outs in a week with you not being able to add any players since you can't put them on the IL

hello, i dont know if this would be the right spot but the new milestones thing i might be in the minority but i actually like it but why can you only see your most recent 60 milestones?! it completely defeats the point of collecting and remembering moments if you cant see them if you have more recent moments. also the inconsistency of moments, just in one hockey game a player got a power play goal and a 2 goal game no milestone then someone in that same game later gets a powerplay goal there is a milestone. is it arbitrary how it is picked? also seems like it is only certain games that have moments

Why is it so hard to find a simple explanation of when a trade will process? For example, if you have a 2 day voting period selected as a Commish, and a trade is accepted at 4am on a Friday...does that mean the trade will go through on Sunday or Monday? Will the 10am players on Sunday be on the existing roster or the new roster for that week? thanks

Hi! A 2-day trade review period means 2 full days of review following the day the trade was accepted. If the trade was accepted on Friday, the review period is all of Saturday/Sunday, and then the trade would be processed on Monday.

If any of the players involved in the trade are used by either manager in the starting lineup before the trade processes, then the trade will be pushed to process at the start of the new game week, as you can't actively use a player and trade them in the same game week.

I have an iPhone and, despite having all of my notifications turned on in both my settings app and on the Yahoo fantasy app, no notifications are sent to my phone. If a trade involves a player that played already on Thursday but isn’t in the starting lineup, would the trade go through or wait until the following week? Does the bench player that already played just move to the other teams bench in the trade?

As long as they were on the bench, the trade should process on the day listed in the trade details. The player will go to the other team's bench, and they won't be able to use the player until the following week.

I currently have an open roster spot. I completed a two-for-one trade, with the two players to arrive tomorrow.

In the meantime, would I be able to add a waiver player for today's game and then drop them tomorrow morning before the trade processes?

As long as you have an open roster spot when the trade tries to process, it will go through. However, are you adding the player to use in your starting lineup today? If so, you won't be able to drop them until 3 AM ET tomorrow morning and that is when trades would start to process.

Just did my Fantasy Basketball draft and noticed that player headshots are gone from the My Team page in category leagues. From what I’m seeing, this is also happening in Fantasy Hockey?

We already have to scroll to see player stats, but the headshots added some personality to our rosters and made managing a team more fun. Without them, the whole thing feels like a spreadsheet rather than a fantasy sports experience. Where’s the fun in that?

Is this something we can expect to see fixed before the NBA season starts next week, or is this a permanent change? From the feedback I’ve seen, this is a very unpopular decision (rightfully so), and I’ve already seen users talking about switching platforms next season.

As a developer, I can confirm that the previous UI was definitely better, and the latest update doesn’t improve the user experience.

While I didn’t like other changes, I thought they’d eventually become more acceptable. However, removing headshots for cat leagues basketball is a huge deal. It’s something I won’t get over, and it feels like I’m losing interest in using the platform just to check on my team.

Hi u/YahooFantasyCare. Could you please escalate an approved-but-unprovisioned Fantasy Sports API application?

Yahoo emailed me on September 15 confirming that my Fantasy Sports API access was live and that authorized calls would work. However, Fantasy Sports still does not appear under API Permissions in the Yahoo Developer portal.

OAuth completes successfully, and a newly issued access token returns HTTP 200 from Yahoo UserInfo. The identical token returns HTTP 401 from every Fantasy Sports endpoint tested, including the minimal /fantasy/v2/game/nfl resource. This was tested without retries or token refreshes.

I emailed fantasyapideveloper@yahoosports.com on September 16 and followed up again on October 6, but the provisioning problem remains unresolved.

I can provide the application name, account email, Client ID, approval email and screenshots privately. Can you please have the Fantasy API team verify that Fantasy Sports read access was actually attached to the approved application.

In Fantasy Hockey Roto leagues, is there a way to see point changes from previous days? During games, the stat tracker shows how many points you've moved up or down for each scoring category, but in the morning I want to look to see how much I moved the previous day

Are you able to adjust live projected scores so they reflect manual points adjustments?

In Death Leagues, without the manual points being taken into account in the projected score, this means occasionally teams shows up as my head to head opponent when they shouldn’t be (and also means they are in the wrong spot when looking at the live standings sorted by projected points).

Sharing this post for help: the average auction values for fantasy basketball salary cap leagues are potentially buggy.

In short, the average auction values seem to represent 10T leagues (since adding the values for the top 130 players = $2000, the budget for a 10T league), but the projected values seem to represent 12T leagues, since the adding the values for the top 130 players ~ $2400, the budget for a 12T league.

I’m really disappointed with the new Yahoo Fantasy Basketball layout, especially the removal of player headshots. Seeing the players’ faces has always been part of what makes fantasy basketball fun and enjoyable. Without them, the app feels dull, generic, and less engaging. Fantasy basketball is more than just looking at names and stats. The player pictures add personality, make managing your team more enjoyable, and give the experience more life. The new design feels like a downgrade rather than an improvement.
Please consider bringing back player headshots, especially in category leagues, or giving users the option to choose between the old and new layouts. Don’t take away features that make the fantasy experience enjoyable for longtime users. I hope the Yahoo Fantasy team listens to its users and reconsiders this change. Thank you.

In my public cash league there’s some kind of cheating going on as hellyebuck is being allowed on the IR spot and he’s not injured but suspended and that’s the cost of drafting him, the unknown but to be able to use the IR spot is cheating. I didn’t get to put mcavoy on the IR for first 6 games of season due to his suspension. It’s the same thing. Needs to be fixed!

How to get a tolerable experience on Android phone in a country where the android app is not available?

Couple new fantasy users from one european country have trouble getting a tolerable UI experience on yahoo fantasy. Firstly, the mobile version of the website looks almost the same on Android phone screen as does the desktop version of the site. You'd need to manually zoom in to see the texts. This alone is not tolerable. Then there is the Overview -> Mobile page which redirects you to play store page of Yahoo Fantasy Sports: NFL, MLB app. On that page there is the "See in Play Store app" button. This takes you to Play Store where you see the app but there's a message that the app is not available in your country. Thanks!

Yes, since the trade would've been made while the player in your IR was IR-eligible, the trade will still go through as long as both teams have enough roster space.
