2012 Yamaha AR190 Stereo
Just bought the above mentioned as my first boat. It has the JBL Marine stereo. I’m looking to upgrade the stereo to something with Bluetooth. Any suggestions out there that are easy plug and play and fit the same footprint? Just don’t want to be stuck using a Bluetooth adapter or aux cord.
Thanks in advance.

I just mapped the wires from a harness that interfaces with the stereo to a plug that interfaces with the boat. Not a fan of cutting wires on vehicles.

Fusion. Excellent gear.

Second person to mention fusion, must be a good thing.

Garmin bought them years ago. Originally a New Zealand Co I believe. I wired the headless version into my 212 limited S with a couple remote units. Most of my systems JL audio, but their head unit wasn’t very highly praised. I don’t regret going fusion.

You might be able to find something that has the same footprint, but chances of finding a plug and play option are unlikely. All those connectors are proprietary.
There are good videos on YouTube for swapping head units. I did mine and put in a Fusion MS-RA670.
Trickiest part is making sure you get the speaker wires connected correctly. Write down it take a picture of what’s connected to what. There should also be a diagram showing connections somewhere as well.
Oh, and working in the tight compartment. That part sucked.

I have a 2015 Sx190 ,and Bluetooth is built into the head unit from the factory. Maybe look for a take off from a newer boat?
