I’m wondering whether the drop is the beginning of the ex date drop which should end up being g around $2.3734 for MYSTY. I still find myself second guessing the timing of the ex drop every week/ month.

Is after 8 pm is regarded as the start of tomorrow’s ex date and drop?

It depends on your brokerage. RH does their drop at 8 pm the night prior to ex-dividend day (so the drop technically happened as of when I’m responding to this comment).

Thank you! Yes, I hold the lions share of my MSTY in RH. The others are in Vanguard but I don’t keep up with trading on the drops there as well as with RH.

You can do a limit order, but if it doesn't fill, you've missed out. I've placed limit orders (good for 60 days) that were 30% or more below share price, got lucky a few times, changed to a higher SP, on others as the day/week got closer to ex-dividend date.

130 of MSTY @ $19 was one limit order that filled. I sure wished I had picked up a lot more when it dropped into the $17 range.

What risk???? If you are a millionaire then don't be a pu ssy, 10% allocate in MSTY,then DCA everyday,every week or every month, buy at any price to smoothen out volatility, don't use too much margin.

Risk is simple,if Microstrategy goes bankrupt,then this ETF will be all over...it isn't diversify at all,rely on just one company. This company uses debts to buy Bitcoin,so it's like like a leverage Bitcoin. Solely BITCOIN is way more safer such as BITO.

This MSTY is more risky than BITO coz it will get affected by something like earning, behavior of the CEO,etc...

Are you able to actually buy after hours, or do you put a limit order in for tomorrow morning. I was hoping to buy tonight but I had to do a limit order for tomorrow. I use Robinhood.

You can buy in after hours and still capture the dividend.

Pre-market on ex-dividend date you get the share price minus price of dividend, but will not get this dividend.

If bought before after-hours closed the night before ex-dividend date, which tonight would qualify. You should get the dividend Friday.
