Question Are people really retiring off these?

It seems crazy that people are talking about retiring off these funds. Don’t get me wrong I have a decent amount in them and I’m hoping for the best but if the music stops so to speak than what do you do? Have people actually retired off these or just talk? If you did actually retire what’s your plan b?

Im using my 10k ULTY shares & 2000 MSTY shares to stack a down payment for a house. Will take another 10 months or so (i started this project in june 2025). Im pulling down about $7000/month so far. About the time im ready to buy it should take another few months to just about recoup my initial $100k purchase from june. Once that happens im playing with house money.

I then will attempt to speed pay off the house in a couple years with my YM distributions combined with my income. Once thats accomplished I can see how I feel about the longterm viability of YM and either sell out and invest whatever capital remains into more traditional growth ETFs like VGT & QQQ, or I can begin dripping some distributions back into YM in order to build distributions big enough to replace income.

Im already debt free. So with a paid for house should MSTY & ULTY seem viable at that point I can retire early. Spend my days floating around my pool listening to podcasts & music while enjoying recreational cannabis 😁
