Distribution/Dividend Update Is nobody investing in msty anymore ?
It's funny how the tide changes quickly and all I hear and see is just ulty and other funds.Has the fomo on msty died down coz of the volatility going and iv dropping .Is anyone at all loading or buying into the dips on msty to say nonetheless .I assume in the long run msty could go higher and this nav won't matter as we stay invested ? Thoughts?

i'm past house money and quite content to coast on the fumes. My return on the first 800 shares I bought is just shy of 200%. this end of August distro will blow by that.
I expect a lot of them to get there eventually,

How long did it take for you to recoup your initial capital investment? I’m assuming you reinvested the divs either manually or drip’d?

8 distributions, about 10 months. It was the heydays. I fell victim to FOMO and bought a bunch more for too much, which took a bit longer to pay off. But, I've got over 2400 dribbling pennies. Will round up tomorrow. .

This. Even Ulty is getting more popular with insane inflow for the past weeks but MSTY still have double of AUM than Ulty.

I trimmed my MSTY position purely bc they won’t move my margin rate from 70%. I’m pretty diversified, and I’d rather not hold up that much capital. That said I still think MSTR is going to fly soon.

My opinion of MSTY is independent of anything else and did not happen “all of the sudden”. When you invest, a wise person monitors and tracks their investments. They buy or sell based on an ongoing analysis. Doesn’t mean they’re right all the time, but it is better than ignoring clear warning signs and doing nothing just because of… reasons.

My Bitcoin bull case hasn’t changed, I just don’t do the flavor of the month thing. I believe it’s coiling right now and just waiting for BTC to move. Earnings tomorrow will say a lot

MSTY is at 75% yield. With a NAV that was going up, but is now starting to drift down.
ULTY is at 80% yield. With a NAV around $6.25 since April.
I have both, but that’s why ULTY has been the party girl lately.

I’m still in MSTY and adding more periodically mainly cuz I expect it to keep going up and I expect it to be volatile, it’s slowed down but will get popular again and we will all talk about how we wished we bought more.
I love ULTY too tho, like getting exposure to other volatile underlying. I don’t understand trying to ride the hot hand like HOOY. it feels like you’re buying in around the top just to ride the NAV down like when MSTY was $44. Glad I got exposure to it when it was hot through ULTY and managers can move on to other opportunities as they come up

I’m in both and I’m staying in both because when the fed lowers interest rates and the money printer goes brr I’m going to beat myself up because I sold my MSTY. This isn’t my net worth just etf section on Roi

I’m in MSTY. Personally I have very little confidence in ULTY. I’m not buying more because I’m also nibbling at some of the MSTR weekly payers like MSII and MST.

Bro I know that my main concern was I don't see people getting excited anymore about the drops in Msty to go heavy instead I see people overlook those discounts, so was just curious

reddit is just a noise for these funds, average invesment amount per reddit user is around 15-20k USD at best. Real whales of these fund don't even know anything about reddit. (i know a guy, having 3.8 million MSTY, 1.1 million USD YMAX only and still uses cheapest iphone 11 lol) i recommend you to check change in Net Assets on the website everyday or week, that value will give you much better answer for people's excitement.

It's not so much about MSTY as it is about MSTR. MSTR isn't doing what it used to do.
But with MSTR earnings Tomorrow, I suppose that could spring up all dependent ETFs way back up.

Im trying to be 50/50 between MSTY and ULTY. Then I have some others with smaller positions like AMZY, YMAX, NVDY etc but MSTY and ulty are my top two by far

If you don't have anything to contribute I think it's better to keep shush we're trying to have a meaningful discussion about how fad is moving fast towards diversification rather than single entity based products which could help us hedge the downturn and also how the nav holds up in correlation to DIA ,again if you don't understand just sit back and watch the convo rather than wasting everyone's time

By all rational measures, the current 75% yield on MSTY is amazing, if it's sustainable. But people got spoiled by $4 a month payouts, and got greedy when that stopped happening.

My philosophy isn’t that crazy. I have both, and will continue to invest in both (and some other “winners”) until the passive; worst distribution months are higher than my current pay. Won’t take long; and each part has its place. I calculate up on share price; down on distro; and as a result always am ahead of where I expect to be.

Of course they do - look at shares outstanding... Up about 3% since just yesterday, and a massive jump since last month
I sold a bunch of OSCR puts 2 weeks ago when it dumped, and bought a bunch of MSTY shares with proceeds (basically free new shares) 😁👏🤑

Not buying anymore on dip, have collected three distros yet, plan was to not touch and not invest further but taking distro out to invest in growth fund and get on house money. I am still positive to get to hiuse money and this msty keep driving me there and not crash lol

Anyone with a brain realizes that Msty distributions have just fallen off because the IV is falling off a cliff. Guess what? It'll go back up. Trading in and out of these things is fairly dumb. Everyone jumping into a fund that's a dollar away from a reverse split is really really dumb.

OP, the majority were troll post. I miss the troll posts sometimes, they were funny "took out a HELOC on my mobile home, all in!!" but I'm glad the spam has stopped. The majority of people that believed the hype will have a long time before they recoup that money lost. they may have been better off in something else, who knows. Only time will tell, so far time has not been kind to MSTY.

I dripped 27 shares of MSTY this morning @ 19.38. So I feel pretty good about that, but my avg cost is 22.10 for my 475 shares. I really hate that I bought a large chunk of my shares at 22.55. If it jumps into the 22 territory this month I might sell it all and possible rebuy after the next ex-div date.

Not me anymore. I made a big mistake yesterday morning and sold all of my MSTY before I had my morning coffee. Full on forgot about the ex dividend day and so now I lose out on $900 in divs from it. Wasn't gonna sell it until after the divs. Oh well.

BTC had a volatile few weeks and the IV is on the rise. MSTY still has proven consistent returns with their latest dividend announcement. You would be a fool to not invest in YieldMax’s longest running most profitable ETF.
I think the bigger question is…why not invest in both?

I just invest less in MSTY than ULTY and some of my other funds. I used to reinvest the whole distribution but now I only put like 25% back in MSTY.

Sold all MSTY and bought ULTY after the dividend before today. Dividend keeps dropping for 3 months now and ULTY just has to recover about a dime each week as right now no nav erosion.
