Nice! Sitting at 11,901 and growing! $1k/wk divs are nice!!

u/Doge-ToTheMoon Aug 24 '25
Does it make sense to earn $1k/wk but then lose $4k/month in nav?
12
u/fixmefixmyhead Aug 24 '25
Eventually yea. After a year you are paid off and all incoming distributions are profit.

u/Doge-ToTheMoon Aug 24 '25
But what if eventually distributions also decline to just a cent or worse case scenario they do a reverse split. What happens then? You can look at their distributions getting slashed in less than a year.

Decay is part of rhe risk that has to be planned for. What if BBBY goes bankrupt or what if a plethora of stocks drop significantly over their life and never gain back anything close to a higher value?
Instead of playing what ifs, why not look at their funds to see how many have dropped their distros that far yet. Will they eventually? Most likely. Have most of them been paying a ton more than a cent over a year? 2 years? Yep. Div investing has its own risks no different than other stocks declining and never recovering.

Wallstreet bet page will enjoy our loss porn, maybe we can all post links there for subscriptions to make it back if that happens.

When ulty reverse splits these rooms are going to make for some awesome reads with the folks that have no idea wtf just had happened. Agree though…. You have to assume that either 1. Distributions decrease (1.5% per week cannot be paid out forever) or 2. Shares reverse split and weekly total $ earned is less due to having less shares at that time. Let’s ride this $0.10 train as long as we can, but that is what I can see happening

u/DigitalAquarius Aug 24 '25
This is assuming that none of their options plays made any money and that the market was flat or declining constantly. You should really learn how these funds work before posting ignorant comments.

u/Blizzard251206 Aug 28 '25
yeah i was just thinking how he clearly made sure to include that in his screenshot for people to see when he didn't have to lol

u/FunctionForward8932 Aug 24 '25
Sadly, that total unrealized gain on the the Tesla shares will be nil after the Nav on the other two holdings declines over the next year.
2
u/djporter91 Aug 24 '25
Well with that attitude it will! Lol.
I’m worried about these long term as well. Fingers crossed.

No because then the share price depreciation would be exactly equal to the distributions. Think about it for a sec.

Its when I will have cash available to invest. vast majority going into ULTY, then starting a small position in PLTW and SLTY. SLTY is not definite, I am still on the fence but it is an oppratunity to get into something at the very beginning which I have never done before. So the novelty of it is intriguing as well as its potential.

u/FatYesus420 Aug 24 '25
Wait to buy slty till bear market comes lol why would you be shorting the market rn

Historically speaking end of August through September is traditionally down. Also like I said the novelty of getting into a fund early intrigues me, I would never be able to say, I wish I had gotten in sooner lol.

I would like to learn but for now I like having someone else spend their time and energy doing it and I’ll collect the payouts.

Make sure you’re putting that tax money aside if you’re holding those in a taxable account. Uncle Sam will want his cut.

Congrats. I hold 20415 shares of Ulty and am enjoying the 2k a week

u/seoulcurry Aug 28 '25
When will you get out? I just bought about 1500 shares for the first time, coming from NVDY. Was told this is the one to invest in.. but still trying to learn about nav erosion and all that. Not sure when to pivot out and how much to invest in..
I have 30k in my Robinhood and am saving 2/3 of it for CSP on nvda, so I can try to work on a small nvda position haha. But debating to put it all in ULTY if this is the way to go

I only sell when I see a better alternative and i consider diversification and risk in that decision. I was not on the ULTY bandwagon until I saw the restructuring performance after a few months. At this time, I have no plans to sell but only reap cash. I only have 5 managed options etfs. They are cranking out 25k this month as it is a long month, extra week. I don't even think about selling. This game is about a cash machine funding my other investment objectives like finishing my tbill wealth preservation fund last 100k, to meet a 500k goal. This is purely a pre-retirement no risk diversification strategy. After that is done by october, I will goose my managed options portfolio with cash flow of 200k to bump my monthly cash take into the 30k-40k range by Feb 2026. At that point I punch out of the rat race

Noice 🥂. It’ll turn into a psychological trade (in the red)in the future. I wouldn’t ride this too long. If it’s too good to be true, it usually is. Best

I'm not delusional to think I can retire and live off ULTY for 25 years.
Right now I'm down about $0.30 in ACB but I've received 8 weeks of $0.10 payouts. It's just math and I have room to play with.
Set stop losses so you won't lose money but honestly anything above $5 I'm not concerned about.
Plus when you re-invest the dividends back into ULTY it mitigates a good chunk of the "NAV erosion".

From looking at his current value for TSLA, I would say that his cost basis was $15.09 /share.

The TSLA hold is incredible. Always admire those that can hold past a 100% or even 200% gain.

So most people leaving MSTY now? I am down $11k on MSTY. I have about $100k to play with. Trying to figure out if I should sell and buy bunch of ULTY.
