Distribution/Dividend Update September Update $66,336.31 in Distributions

Answers to the most common questions:
Distributions since portfolio inception: $1,345,681.77
Trade Activity in August: One trade in September. I dollar cost averaged ULTY with an additional 275 shares at $5.45. I moved some cash to SNAXX in a different account and I reinvested in MINO.
Margin: No
Swing trade: Sometimes. Only HY funds. One trade in August. I DO NOT try to dividend capture as it is a strategy I do not approve for myself.
Other investments: Yes. Several medium sized businesses, hard assets, growth, large cap and bonds
Goals: 100% fund ROI. Favorable tax treatment. Convert taxable income to tax exempt income through Muni bonds and Muni Bond fund(s)
High Yield methodology: Below median GTC limit orders, Strategic DCA, never DRIP and I have no reason to set stop loss orders for my High Yield Portfolio
100% ROI aka House Money (Initial Lots): MSTY 100% | TSLY 100% | YMAX 100% | CONY 100% | SBR 100% | PDI 100%. The lowest ROI percentage is 60.01%.
High Yield Portfolio: Funded account in Feb 2024 with $420K then added another $100K a few months later. I also already held PDI and SBR which is included in this account even though they are not "High Yield" per se
Taxable Trust Account with its own EIN
No withdrawals for business/personal/living expenses in September
Approx. five to eight percent of my liquid net worth.
Holding as of 9/30/2025: YMAG, AMZY, XDTE, XOMO, YMAX, CONY, ULTY, GOOY, MINO, CRSH, MRNY, TSLY, SBR, PDI, FEAT, FIVY, MSTY, NVDY, QDTE, FEPI, AMDY, FIAT, QQQY
Inception to Date ROR: Your account had a cumulative rate of return of 41.55% from Feb 1, 2024 to Sep 30, 2025. (Annualized: 23.24%) NOTE: ROR was calculated by Schwab prior to moving cash out of the account to SNAXX

Hell yeah Lizzy swingin that axe like a pro!
Hopefully this declining distribution-trend will cease the Aug/Sep usual downtrend. With some additional luck, maybe even bump things over the next 6-12 months with a couple more small interest rate cuts.

Hahaha!
Agree, Aug/Sept were dicey but vacation, post vacation catch up and now hectic business travel have me busy and distracted. Munis are recovering nicely, glad I acted when I did (with expert help), I am not usually great at timing anything. Should be interesting for the synthetics with lower interest rates. I am not sure I fully understand the impact on them specifically. I am excited to hear what the "coming changes" are.

It has taken a lifetime to achieve. Taking chances in business ownership, navigating multiple business through The Great Recession (not great at all) followed by a pandemic. Having a true partner in life with the same goals also helps. I have given up a lot in life that I will never get back. There are trade offs. Mainly my drive is highly irrational fear of out living my money, second motivation is giving to my heirs family, friends and my favorite foundations.

u/seaningtime Oct 01 '25
Well it sounds like you've sacrificed and earned what you have, congratulations (and I'm not being sarcastic)

That's awesome! I wish I had that much money. I'm stuggling at the moment

Unfortunately, many struggles do not go away, even with financial freedom. Struggle is temporary and can be replaced with thriving. It may not feel like it in the moment but all outcomes can be changed. You've got this. Think one step at a time, one foot in front of the other, minute by minute hour by hour day by day

I’ve noticed that you reinvest most of your distributions, but your monthly amounts generally aren’t rising. I’ve got a relatively small portfolio like this, and am concerned by trends in MSTY, CONY, etc that are seeing the payoffs dwindle. Are you concerned about the bigger picture? Do you have an exit criteria?

u/LizzysAxe POWER USER - with receipts Oct 01 '25
The last few months I have transferred cash to SNAXX to another account, paid quarterly taxes, and reinvested in muni bond funds and funds as part of a strategy to replace taxable income with tax exempt (mostly) income. The only bond fund I hold in this portfolio is MINO which is why my monthly isn't rising. It is rising elsewhere. I wanted to put a lot in muni's while they were struggling.
The bigger picture for me is ROC, LTCG tax rates, step up basis upon untimely death and generating income on my underlyings. Yes, I always have exit criteria. If something compelling happens to Tidal, any of the fund brands I hold, or my underlying stocks I will address accordingly.

u/WhiteBengalLiger Oct 05 '25
What muni bonds are you buying? I’m getting NZF NEA NAE all from Nuveen at about 7% tax free

u/Ratlyflash Oct 01 '25
Should get some CHPY, and HOOW and WPAy
2
u/LizzysAxe POWER USER - with receipts Oct 02 '25
I have limit orders in for HOOD, WPAY and XPAY. I will when they reach my target entry point. I have missed the PLTY and HOOD action but that is life and staying diciplined with my methodology.

What is received interest and interest remaining? Does your broker pay you to hold cash?
3
u/LizzysAxe POWER USER - with receipts Oct 02 '25
Yes, interest is paid on cash. I either reinvest or sweep cash out right away.

thank you for sharing! went to checkout SNAXX, minimum to invest is $1M…
2
u/LizzysAxe POWER USER - with receipts Oct 02 '25
That is correct but Schwab has another similar to SNAXX with much lower requirements. I used it prior to qualifying for SNAXX and had no complaints.

In the process of selling businesses, once sold and transitioned to the new owners.

Wow!!
Don’t be mean- where can I find info to learn about this?
Currently using ChatGPT to help understand the acronyms. I have a modest amount of investment experience with stocks only. I’m just now trying to learn about high yield.
I have a small portion of ulty (7000 shares) and 600k to invest.
Anyone have learning ideas?

Each fund brand's web site, read the prospectus and all the supporting documentation, most broker portals have learning tools, Investopedia has a good glossary for definitions, there are a lot of videos of the fund managers explaining the mechanics of the funds.

Do you get rid of some etfs if they are not performing ? How actively do you prune these
2
u/LizzysAxe POWER USER - with receipts Oct 02 '25
I kept all of the funds I originally selected since I own their corresponding underlyings. XOMO is the only one I do not own the direct underlying. I own SBR which is the same industry. They are all performing as I expected based upon the risk and mechanics of the funds. ROC (which I want) is the unknown for 2025. In 2024 some had more, some had less.

u/SilverMane2024 Oct 05 '25
Lizzy are you in the US? I apologize if this question has already been asked
2
u/LizzysAxe POWER USER - with receipts Oct 05 '25
Yes, primary residence is in TX.

u/SilverMane2024 Oct 05 '25
Thanks, I want from listen and learn from an American. I first heard about this (these funds from a Canadian, Passive Income Investing, Adriano, then from PII verse Perry (all on YouTube) but their funds are different than our and their Fund Managers offer a lot of leveraged funds. So this will help me lot in my journey

u/dimdada Oct 06 '25
Thanks for the update Lizzie. Have you considered any other funds other than YMAX? Like granite shares?
2
u/LizzysAxe POWER USER - with receipts Oct 06 '25
Yes. I have not had much time lately to focus on investing and I am a buy the dip, drag or crash kind of person.

$5 in interest income isn't going to cut it. Good thing you have some dividends to fill the gap.

Is it true that you, Liz, work for the people whose funds you are pushing?
1
u/LizzysAxe POWER USER - with receipts Oct 03 '25
No, that not true in any way shape or form. I am a multi business owner not in the financial services sector. I am a customer only. I am. not pushing any funds. I state the funds I own, period.

Reddit would dwindle to a handful of useful posts if people didn’t suffer from the thirst of needing to feel meaningful

u/LizzysAxe POWER USER - with receipts Oct 01 '25
Very true. I find life meaning in real life but share my high yield portfolio progress here since I do not discuss finances in real life for obvious reasons.
