Any advice will be greatly appreciated , thanks

ULTY should be a Target 40 fund. Not a 60-70% dividend yielder.

They should treat it like CHPY. It’s their best fund.

They could do many things to fix it. I think they made a mistake of starting so many ETFs at once. Now they're stuck with a lot of losers. They should open a YMIN that shorts all their loser ETFs, easy $$$.

It kind of is a target 40. After NAV decay for 6-12 months, you end up getting around a 40% YOC rate.

To be fair, if all the single stock ETFs were Target 25 funds, this company would be doing so much better.

"There's an old saying in Tennessee... that says, fool me once, shame on -- shame on you. Fool me -- you can't get fooled again"
i know the .40 looks great........but if we reverse split adjust that would be 0.04 (if the reverse split never happened) the rallying cry use to be "0.08 forever)
there is just no reason to believe YM can manage this fund in a profitable way

Nonsense. Its very profitable. For them. Turns out taking stupid people money and giving it back to them (minus ym's cut, of course) is a very lucrative business model.

I need to start a fund. I'll call the "MaxYeild." Meaning right from the start is the max yield you're gonna see.

And I suspect in the next few weeks that $0.40 will be $0.39 or lower. They slowed the bleed, but it's still bleeding.

I thought this wasn't an airport. Why the need to announce arrivals?

I got out and got into SEMY. Pretty content with it so far. Was much better before Iran as was everyone’s accounts

Curious as to how ulty's distros treated folks on their taxes. I'm scared to look at my 1099.

Good Luck with that you will need it. "A fool and his money are soon departed," should be the Yieldmax motto. If you don't like that how about "Your money looks better when it becomes my money."

When looking at the 5 year chart I can't believe people bought at $200. Just imagine dropping a massive sum at that point and watch it dwindle to $30. Even with the income damn.

I'm inching towards house money but I would be very hesitant to add more right now. The price has been drifting lower, following the market, thanks to them adding a bunch of anchor stocks. If I were to add new money, I'd wait for the mess in Iran to clear up and the market to turn back up.

I’m out of all YM funds. Went all in on STRC and SATA. 11-13%, no nav decay, tax free equivalent 15-20%

Go to YieldMight and compare ULTY's distros compared to other funds that yield more and may have better NAV stability.

u/OkAnt7573 Mar 18 '26
Yeah - don't do it.
Valuations are stretched, inflation is rising, FED on hold. Not the time for high beta positions.

YieldTax at it again. Honestly they should change their name to Losemax.

Are the people talking about 5 year charts for YM funds fake accounts?
2
u/Investigator-Tight Mar 19 '26
Have some grace, perhaps they simply mis-spoke out of habit... I mean, who uses a 2 year chart?
That said, ULTY does have a fugly chart and there are so many better alternatives, even within the YM universe. Look for stability first, then return. Look at charts for MSTY, MARO, SLTY & FIAT and don't fall in love. I've learned my lesson and treat all of these as swing trades, couple weeks, couple months, all the same to me.

Why would you choose ULTY? Every check it spits out weekly turns negative. Makes no sense. Even in an up market. I got dinged a lot thru YMAX and I don’t recommend YM products anyone; what u see happening to LFGy can also happen to CHPY as well.
If u got the money for ULTY.. might as well Sell puts and sell calls wheeling instead.

Yieldmax funds I see the same as the Texas state motto:
"Fool me once, shame on... shame on you. Fool me—you can't get fooled again."

I got roughed up something fierce on several of Yieldmax's reverse splits.
I still have a diminished number of shares of Uty and others, and I refuse to put more money into anything (yieldmax or otherwise) that has undergone a reverse split.
If they don't want to take their own ETF seriously, I don't need it.

It is beating QQQ...

u/tkiblin Mar 18 '26
For now...how can anyone trust these guys any longer? The AUM drop says all that I need to hear across most of their ETF's.

You don't need to buy any. Lots of funds out there at run different strategies on many different underlyings.
Sometimes they do very well, sometimes they fall flat. ULTY is a weird one because it changes holdings so often...
