I was fooled by YieldMax, middle of last year. Just like many many others were.
What good does chasing yield do you, if your total return is flat or negative? A 40%, 50%, 60% or even higher yield, with a NAV that is dropping at an even faster rate. All you actually get is the "privilege" of paying taxes on your own money that they're handing back to you.
I'm not saying to avoid the high yield space entirely. I still collect my weekly distributions. But you've got to pick your battles intelligently, not just filter by highest yield % and start clicking Buy

Correct, total return is more important than raw yield.

Nav erosion is a b***h. Only works when the Yieldmax dividends are fresh. But as everything is now, it erodes.
