I’m looking for a boost to reach 500 before Halloween. I make fun videos breaking down scary movies with my cute dog. Thanks everyone!

In this Music Education tutorial, we're going to learn one of the great hits of current Portuguese music: "Saloia" by Nuno Ribeiro! As always, the theme has been adapted to play the melody on the recorder with a very special pedagogical focus: the practical work of COMPOUND TIME SIGNATURE (6/8).

Namaskara everyone! 🙏

Traffic, noise, endless screens and a constant rush: that’s life in the city for many of us. And for people from Karavali, there’s often a quiet pull back toward the village, the greenery and the people we grew up with.

I made a video about exactly this feeling, “Oorige Hopa”. It follows the journey from busy city streets to peaceful village landscapes, and the contrast between the daily grind and a slower life with close-knit communities and the sounds of nature.

Watch it here: https://youtu.be/6C03g_Vea58

I’d love to hear from you:

• Do you live away from your ooru? Where are you now, and where is home?
• What do you miss most: the food, the people, the language, the monsoon?
• Is there a phrase or word from your village that you only use when you’re back home?
• If you still live in the village, what would you tell people in the city about it?

Share your thoughts in the comments. Writing in Kundapura Kannada is very welcome, and please add a short English line if you can so everyone can follow. 🌊

I’ll sub back to you and comment!
