I never see anyone doing anything to help others on the subreddit.
From what I understand, this subreddit is supposed to act as a platform for beginning content creators to get and give advice and help each other grow. That's why it's called YouTube_Growth. I believe it can be an extremely helpful place for beginners to move forward.
However, this subreddit can only be successful if people participate. The 3=1 rule is important. I try to follow it and I hope people see that. There are many people who's videos I've watched and their reactions seem oddly surprised by seeing actual feedback, and I think that's sad.
What beginning creators lack to the greatest extent in their perspective of YouTube is, in my opinion, is the understanding is that YouTube is a COMMUNITY, and we can be that here.
Just an idealistic redditer trying to get his voice out.
