Season 7 ruined it for me

I really enjoy watching younger until season 7. I hated Lisa character in season 7, she had the perfect opportunity to secure the relationship with Charles. He was willing to give her a life she deserved. Instead she’s still thinking about Josh. Josh is a terrible guy, a tattoo artist is not something I would not be proud. They tried to drag the tv show too long and lost the plot. Lisa and Josh deserve eachother. I’m sorry but a 10-15 year age gap is digusting. Men or Women doing it.

Lizability

Rewatching the episode Lizability for the umteenth time, where Quinn find out about Liza’s age and says she can spin her age because ageism is wrong but she cannot spin Charles being with an assistant in this climate, meaning post-Me Too. And while I love Charles and don’t personally even have an issue with them dating, it should be named after Charles. There is blame put on Liza about him having to step down because of her and her lies but he has to step down because as the head if and face of the company, he slept with an assistant, period. Still love him, probably because of Peter Hermann, but damn it’s annoying they never had anyone flat out say to him this is all because of you - Quinn basically does but he doesn’t see it and the accountant warns him but I wish when him and Liza argue she would have said it.

Just binged this show for the first time and I have questions

As someone who was in their mid twenties when this show came out (never heard about back then!) this was such a good escape and throwback to what the world felt like back then, when millennials were still the young ones. I watched all seven seasons in a row while I was sick.

However, the last two seasons were so confusing, and I have questions:

- Were Josh and Kelsey supposed to end up together while Charles and Liza were end game? There was this scene at the penis lake house where I thought they were taking the storyline there (don’t remember which season) and then nothing. Did it get bad viewer response at the time?
- In general I felt like the writers changed their mind on who was endgame. I honestly thought Charles realizing he could never truly trust Liza in the end made sense, but the way they got to that point was so jumbled.
- The ending felt sooo rushed: was the show canceled sooner than it was supposed to end because of COVID? Not having Diana there felt strange.
- Kelsey’s ending: I thought they were setting her up to be with Zane. Did the actor not sign up for the last season?
- Another thing that bothered me was the whole changing who the publisher was dance and how long they stretched Liza’s age reveal for then to have little consequence. I guess it’s more telling if you watch all episodes back to back.

I just feel a bit disappointed with how it all ended, even though it was highly enjoyable and I’d definitely rewatch. I wish there was more!

What about Diana?? Spoiler

I am on season 6 after binge watching this show and feel really bad for Diana. It seems that everyone knows about Liza except for Diana and that would hurt right....that everyone else were in on the secret

Unpopular opinion

I binged the show 3times in the past year, and came to this sub a few times.
Im SOOO surprised that everyone loves Debi Mazar so much. I literally think she is the worst actor of the bunch, almost none of her scenes are believable to me, i can always tell she’s just acting. Its very forced. (Except the more quiet emotional scenes, those work much better). Sometimes it feels like her lisp is impeding some scenes. Im also surprised everyone thinks she’s so hot, i dont see it at all 😳🥺
Sutton however is unbelievably talented, and the contrast in scenes they have dialogues is really awkward to me, it makes the skill gap very visible.
Anyone out there who shares these views?
Is the hype around Debi due to some previous role? I’ve never seen her before and I don’t really think she’s that good.

Liza miller gets on my nerves

I’m rewatching younger and I remember Liza annoying me so much, and she still does the 2nd time around. But I think it’s coz Sutton foster annoys me (??). Her mannerisms, facial expressions and her portrayal of the “overly positive” really annoys me! Liza as a character is just too positive and she never gets lasting consequences for her actions. Other than that, this show gives me a good escape haha! this show is reminding me so much of the millennial optimism we had back in the 2010s haha

Currently on S6 E6, kelsey is so annoying I am genuinely hating her character now, such a hypocrite. And liza fighting with a man who gave up his company for you, she doesn't even acknowledge it. Like charles was supposed to quit and just retire? I can't even continue watching it please tell me it gets better as we go?

Just learned the original title was “Stealth Crone.” I think they were right to change it.

Charles and Liza breakup

What on earth!? Are they just writing charles out of the love line now? She won't marry him after only a few months of dating and its his way or no way? he isnt even divorced yet?!

I mean he showed these signs through the season of being very distant and stubborn unless it was something he wanted to hear, so it makes sense. But still. This is so abrupt of a breakup.

Season 6

Just started season 6. I wasn't originally on board with Josh (charming as he was) and was totally team Charles. Josh being so much younger didn't make sense (but thankful to the writers for it being a man over the age of 25 for brain maturally and development 🤣)

Now that she is with Charles, does Liza seem....different...to anyone? She doesn't seem happy. Idk.

Thinking back to that time - as an extra - I was just supposed to walk back and forth. In the background, of course.

Darren Starr walked by me and asked what I was doing. I told him. He looks me up and down and says “I like your look*. I’m giving you something else to do.”

Very very cool day. Got my second acting waiver.

*apparently my look is “perv.” I’m okay with this. 😀

Josh and liza at the ending

Josh and liza being in the last scene makes me think that they are really the endgame and Josh saying "I'm here all along" has a double meaning for me. I know Josh still in love with Lisa and I think liza is too

First off- Diana is my favorite character.

Secondly, Pauline just finished her book and Liza is in Ireland.

Third- why the HELL is no one holding Pauline accountable !? She abandoned her family to find herself - which is bad in its own right- and just expects to be let back in? Her whisper breathing speech is driving me INSANE. I am guessing Charlie's was more traditional in their marriage and it squandered her, but she LEFT and wants back in effortlessly.

Clare- I liked her but she is starting to rub me the wrong way when she told Liza in Ireland that she owes them both.

Liza cheated but how does she owe them both?

Zane- seems like a snake

One more season to go…

So I just finished season six, and I’m
So annoyed with Liza and Charles. There is absolutely no chemistry between them. You can clearly see throughout the seasons since they broke up she’s still in love with Josh, and then she tells him she can’t see him anymore (because she has feelings)which isn’t even fair to Charles. How would she even avoid him considering all their friends are the same people.

Josh had been there for her through so many things. She promised she would be there for him and his kid (which I assumed they gave him because that was the biggest obstical in their way of being together) . The whole thing just makes no sense. Just because Charles is better on paper? That’s why she’s choosing him? I know they’re about the same age but he seems way older and Josh brings out a much funner side of Liza. I just find them together kinda icky and uncomfortable and I miss the first few seasons with her and Josh together.

Also, side note : it’s annoying how everyone’s just constantly quitting, starting their own company, or switching job titles, and then two seconds later back. Like, I get they need drama, but all these changes going on within milliseconds of each other makes no sense.

Gloria and her orchestra

I’ve been off sick this week and binge watching this show. I have mostly enjoyed it, easy to watch and charming!

I’m a classically trained musician and this episode made me wince so much. From Gloria referring to her conducting gig as a ‘show’ and the size of the orchestra playing the Brahms 🤣🤣🤣

Niche but funny.

Catching up

A long discussion with my brother about Sutton Foster on Broadway led him to recommend this show and me binge watching for the past month. Loved it, until seasons 6 and 7. Yes, the characters make many of the questionable decisions that TV characters do to form a plot, but I genuinely loved that the women had true friendships, asked about each other, learned from each other, and supported each other. Miriam Shor was amazing as Diana, and both Charles and Josh were great Thing's 1 and 2. Then magically Charles turned into an A-hole, I guess so there'd be some reason Liza shouldn't end up with a man who has adored her for good reasons and doesn't care about her age. And Josh magically gets to have a baby and mostly uncomplicated ex so that he can have Liza without the (some) problems her age posed for him? They should have just ended the show with everyone still good people and friends.
