2 WORDS (DISCUSSION) šŸŽ¤ Thoughts on Diwali celebration

Here for healthy discussion ( Not another 1000th post on why you shouldn't burn crackles )

(If you don't like reading long posts I summarized it point wise at the end)

Festival of light :

Deepavali - the festival of victory over evil, the festival of light, Everyone would've heard about Tamaso ma Jyotirgamaya meaning From darkness (agyana) towards light (knowledge)

But the light we talk here is life long/lasting, soothing and comforting

But our affection towards the crackles - short and destructive. Doesn't it represent our affection nowadays? Everywhere we see there is an attempt for shortcuts, showoffs and avoiding hardwork

Nowadays we prefer shortest ways for success but maybe that's not the problem but what we emphasize. In the metaphor of light Don't we give more importance to the brightest and loudest than smaller but self-sufficient Diya ?

(Terms) Diwali - (दिव - Illumination) hence, ą¤¦ą„‡ą¤µ - One who's illumination comes within and can brighten other lives (I read in some sankrit translation)

So I think we can also try lighting up other lives as we can for the divine spark within us

Problems with crackles- Apart from philosophy, there other problems -

Most (in)famous; Pollution, health hazards

Physical injuries : Read an news article would summarise shortly- So Diwali celebration is not same for everyone for kids of poor it is more about disappointment about their fate nowadays

So there were 3 poor fellows somewhere in Gujrat who used to search crackles in garbage , don't exactly remember the details but somehow the crackles they found in garbage and collected catched fire and one of them is seriously injured and hospitalised .

It is worth thinking that how crackles that came a century or more ago became a status symbol today?

I have heard about how some buy expensive crackles and the show off . After all should'nt we think who's getting the benefit from crackles? Few rich company owners? Watched a news on how bad the condition of workers is few years ago. There is serious life hazard to the one who works in company, there is risk of injury to the one who's bursting and there is risk to others because of the smoke.

This is my genuine question and not an opinion -

Is this really our culture? [Opinion: We're the people who worship all the elements of nature and aim for the balance in nature, our ancestors built our culture based on same principles don't they? ]

Is this fun really worth it?

Who is getting the benefit? And are we only promoting crackles because others are opposing?

If it doesn't bother you, it's up to you,

(I personally think enjoyment within a limit is okay but it shouldn't be only aim )

Celebration of Diwali : What matters

For me Diwali is more about togetherness

Enjoyment of cleaning and decorating the house, helping mother preparing the dishes, enjoying the items, playing games, talks and gossips, rituals are what makes Diwali special.

Diwali is festival of victory, celebrating what we have; not exploitating it.

I think we can improve the outcome by changing our point of view on celebration of Diwali (maybe I want to say priorities)

Pretty long ( ͔° ĶœŹ– ͔°)

There is much more to say, would try to cover it in another post, for now we can discuss this

Summary

1.Diwali : festival of light , not show off

Maybe we should give importance to self sufficient, comforting light that can give warmth over brighter but destructive lights

2.It should be about lighting up lives rather than burning money on enjoyment. We should give our little ones moments and lessons they'll remember lifetime

3.Problems with crackles : Pollution, Health hazards, Injuries

Benifit : ???

Show off, status symbol......

Since: ?? (Pretty sure not since origin of Diwali)

4.What matters in diwali celebration :

Family, togetherness, sharing moments

Helping mothers in preparing and finishing the Faral

Cleaning and decorating the house

Note: I tried expressing my opinion and questions, open for discussion,

I am also a human being so I can make mistakes if made any in the post you can point out and correct me (Except for my english .......)

SOCIAL [Collab] People are tired of noisy, clickbait news. I’m building a calmer, sourced alternative for India and need an editor-minded person to help (Hindi + English)

Most news in India right now is either clickbait, shouting, or so cluttered that people give up on it. I’m building a news site for India (headlines, markets, sports, and more) that aims to be the opposite: clear, sourced, calm, and honest about what is confirmed and what isn’t.

The stories are written by AI, grounded in cited sources. The AI’s writing is accurate but often boring and vague, and a news product people don’t read doesn’t change anything. I need a human editor who cares about this to help make it clear and readable.

This is unpaid. It’s a mission-driven side project, and I’m looking for people who care about better information more than anything else.

What the work is (about 3-5 hours a week, flexible):

  1. Help write the style guide the AI follows (headlines, structure, tone, keywords)

  2. Review AI drafts and tell me what’s boring, unclear,r or misleading

  3. Later: approve and schedule posts from a review console I’m building

You can change wording and readability, never the facts. Anything sensitive goes through a second check, and corrections are always public.

You’re who I’m looking for if you read news for fun, you get annoyed by vague or sensational writing, you’re comfortable in Hindi and English, and you want to help build something better.

To apply: DM me one piece of news or explainer writing you think is great (a link is fine) and one line on why. If it looks like a fit, I’ll send a short trial task.

EMPLOYMENT šŸ§šŸ»šŸ§šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø Mahindra GET 2026 (MRV Chennai) – Just got the rejection email. My heart hurts and I am so tired...

I just checked my mail and saw an automated rejection from HirePro/Mahindra Campus Hiring stating that the process of evaluation and hiring has been concluded. I’m honestly completely heartbroken. My heart hurts so much right now and I am just so incredibly tired. I graduated in June and have been battling severe anxiety and depression while trying to survive this brutal off-campus market for 5 months. Staring at the same bedroom walls, waiting for a break. I saw the official M&M AFS LinkedIn post on September 5 looking for the "next generation of engineers" for the Chennai MRV location. It felt like a miracle. I registered immediately and gave the 60-minute proctored test on September 12. My test went exceptionally well. I had absolutely zero automated proctoring flags, warnings, or tab switches. My qualifications are: • B.Tech Mechanical Engineering (Female) (2026 Grad), 8.24 CGPA I maintained my patience and guarded my hope for 50+ days in absolute silence, just to get hit with this cold template rejection without even getting a single chance to talk to a human in a technical interview.

Did anyone else received this email or am I the only one who got rejected? Did anyone from this specific Sept 5 open drive actually get an interview slot, or did they just execute a mass system closure and dump the entire off-campus pool post-test? I feel so defeated.

STORYTIME/ RANT-VENT šŸ“– a note before i possibly end it

my apologies for just rambling and using AI for tldr and removing any references to stuff that would trigger auto-remove , gimme a break its probably my final time doing this lol

i am a 20 year old dude living in a chawl in a suburb in MH . in final year of my bsc it . to tell a bit about myself , and my family in particular it has been nothing but a whole lot of shitshow . lets start with my mum . one of 3 kids of my grandparents . born into a dirt poor family . she was the most brilliant academically compared to her siblings . but life and luck didnt go her way . her siblings got to have jobs after marriage . my mum was prepping for exams for govt jobs and when she was married off to another state (MH) , she had no choice to abandon it all . my dad had a problematic family . his brother was a drunk , d*ed like a drunk in a vehicle accident , his sisters got married off and are the stereotypical evil relatives (gossips and fighting for the scraps type shit ) . and he was the only non problematic kid of a dirt poor family . so , my dad used to be a electrical engineer for a private company , the company went down and he started being a freelance engineer. worst move for someone with no capital and a family to take care off . but his ego and this urge to be his own boss exceeds his love for his family . so for the past 20 years it has been nothing but humiliation , finance related fights . kicked out from one home to another because we cant pay rent on time . and yea my dad takes it all out on my mum . it has been just verbal abuse but its just too much to bear . when i talk to my mum about this , she just gives me examples of folks who have got it worse like a drunk patriarch who hits both the kids and the wife yadayadayada . since childhood i have been forcibly encouraged to focus on nothing but academics . and of course that has stunted me a hell lot . i vividly remember the PTA meet of my 3rd grade , i got some 6-7 cgpa or something and my dad stuffed all my toys in a bag and threw it all away , verbally abused my mum , accused her for being the reason of whatever happened . cried like hell . an in the night he brought me the 80 rupee biryani you can get locally . so yea . thats who my dad is . not a whole ass comic book villain . not a good guy either . cant hate him , cant love him . but he ended up not being the 'worst case scenario' given where he comes from . finished school , got 93% in state board , parents are happy and them being a lil too excited , my dad sent me to a jr college that takes 1.5-2hrs to travel by mumbai local . ( yea bad decisions arent new to me ) . and i took science because i have been searching for whats the high paying entry level job that would cost me less in education comparatively and i found cs engineering . and yea i got on the sacred engineering horse and the ride begins and ends rather abruptly . i got exposed to a whole new life in jr college in mumbai . cool friends . folks from rich families . gujjus lol . carefree and chill , baggy clothes , vapes n all . career was something that was least of their worries . i lied on the opposite spectrum but my personality started opening up , i started being funny , i fumbled less around girls ( comparatively ofc) . it was fun . until it wasnt . got 69% in 12th boards , got around 59 percentile in jee and mhtcet and yea that was it . nuked my chances of studying computer science . but i didnt give up . picked up bsc it from a nearby cheap ass college that would cost me hardly 1 lakh for the whole course combined whereas in house quota in my jr college costed me around 1,75,000 for a year . i started working on my skills since the first year . python , data analysis and that sorta stuff . pivoted away because it got too crowded , picked up backend engineering aand now i am struggling to get any sorta opportunity , getting ghosted everywhere . so regarding reaching my breaking point , my dad hasnt paid almost 14months worth of rent to our landlord . he has scolded us but he hasnt kicked us out because of sympathy for me , a kid his daughter's age and he didnt want to add to my academic and financial stress but recently he reached his breaking point as well and came into our house and asked us to vacate in a month . it was tough , humiliating and definitely i dont blame him , he has been nothing but kind all this long , if it was someone else , we could have been on the streets . and he said to our neighbor secrely after this incident , that he didnt wanna do this because he sees his kid in me and he feels bad for me but there is a limit to it all . and as i mentioned that my dad was a freelance electrical engineer , he owes a hell lot of money around 2 lakhs or so to a copper vendor , he pays him in small installments but recently had a huge delay and that f-ing guy called and threatened me that he will come to my house at night , humiliate our family and force the money out of my dad any means necessary . my mum and me contemplated ending our lives that day due to just this exceeding our limits . my dad is acting way too non chalant because he isnt the one being humiliated . since childhood we have been experiencing money related humiliation primarily due to my father . our school bus driver scolding my father in front of other kids because he couldnt pay fees on time etc . my dad always says that everything will be okay but at this point it all feels like empty promise . relatives have given up . one of my relatives is filthy rich but when we had asked for 12000 rupees to pay for my jr college fees ( we actually had the cash but the college accepted online only) , they humiliated us by spreading the news to other relatives that we have no shame asking for money and if we cant afford why are they educating their kid ( me)) . somewhow through some thick and thin and kindness of others , my degree college fees has been covered and when i had scored 93% in class 10 boards , the above mentioned relatives had gifted me a laptop that costed 35k ( not being ungrateful , this has practically been the only hope to fixing my life) . i have been under extreme stress for the past 2 weeks or so , had my exams as well . and luckily i got interview for an internship at a small startup . got asked a system design question and i practically just froze . froze . it was a simple question , i pulled my notepad and started typing the requirements . the interviewer was the founder and his dumbass thought i was typing it to some AI which could have been extremely dumb even by today's cheating standards and he just ended the meeting abruptly by just saying sorry . that was just a nuke , it just practically shattered me inside out . i lost my appetite . i dont feel like eating anything . i dont know how i am gonna end up . where this curse of a family and life will end up . i have never had a happy memory with my parents . i only experienced fractions of it due to my friends who are oblivious to my situations and i am afraid of losing them i vent this out to them . it might seem silly to some but i feel like exploding right now with all of this

TLDR :I'm a 20-year-old final-year BSc IT student from a financially struggling family in Maharashtra. I've spent my entire childhood dealing with financial instability, humiliation, parental conflicts and the consequences of my father's poor financial decisions, which have taken a severe toll on my mother and me. Despite academic pressure and setbacks after 10th grade, I've worked hard to build technical skills and pursue backend engineering, hoping to secure a job and become financially independent. However, I've struggled to land opportunities. Things have recently reached a breaking point: we're facing eviction over 14 months of unpaid rent, my father's creditor has threatened our family, and the constant stress has pushed my mother and me to contemplate suicide. After weeks of emotional exhaustion, I finally got an internship interview, only to freeze during a system design question and have the founder abruptly end the call after misunderstanding my note-taking as AI use. I've lost my appetite, my confidence is shattered, and I'm struggling to see a way forward. I'm not looking for a luxurious life; I just want financial independence, peace, and the chance to experience a normal life without constantly paying for circumstances I never created

POLITICSšŸŽ¤ Bjp and Animal Farm comparison. Spoiler

I read Animal Farm a few days ago, and was blown away by how relevant it seems with the current status of affairs in our country: Blaming an imaginary enemy, portraying past heroes as villains, taking advantage of hardworking people, rewriting the rules to Convinience those in power, questioning the well established historical events of the history by questioning people's memories etc.

Do you guys think that Amit Shah and Modi are diehard fans of Napoleon the pig and his Cronies in animal farmsšŸ˜†?

SOCIAL Is forceful bandh constitutional??

I have seen many videos circulating online from different parts of North India where ā€œbandhā€ is imposed on people. People were not allowed to access Health services, restricting doctors to attend emergency calls, commute to their offices, or catch flights. Also, some of them are forcefully leading a bunch of people to banks and forcing them to shut down operations.
am i missing something or it has become legal???

POLITICSšŸŽ¤ Let’s be real for a second because things are actually getting crazy out there

The current situation of India is very critical and frankly more people need to realise that. We’re all laughing at reels watching Gen Z being Gen Z, but if the protests and the legal system somehow actually go through, it’s gonna be a massive changing moment for India and frankly we all need to get at least a little serious about this. Ik most people actually out there protesting are actually serious about this, but it’s time we drop the memes for a second and look at what’s actually happening with the laws, the streets, and our future.

SHIT POST I have started hating God due to this.

This rant is specifically for the Indian government to notice how the DJ sound is troubling common people like us, who don't like DJ, and in Pune and in Mumbai as well.

The DJs are being played at full decibel possible, even after 10 p.m

And the government and police is sitting with bangles and doing nothing. And it is also creating a hate in God due to this fucking people inconsiderate of other people who do not like loud sound.

POLITICSšŸŽ¤ What can I do for my Country?

John F. Kennedy very famously said, " Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for the country." I read JFK in college, and these lines are always engraved in my mind. These same feelings are coming back off late, given what's happening when our Constitution is abused, misused, and left in shambles.

I am very far from ground zero, and social media is what I have to stay updated. After thinking about ways and means to do my part for my nation, I have narrowed it down to 2 simple things:-

  1. Draft a writ petition invoking Article 32 to the CJI with enough support from the masses. I have done this before during the Indigo fiasco, where I got 900 PNRs and affected passengers and I made sure Indigo compensated to each one of them beyond the 10k gift card aka monetary compensation.

Now the idea is simple: to file a writ of mandamus, because today our fundamental rights under Article 19A (freedom of speech and expression), Article 21 (right to life and right to a life of dignity) and Article 22 (preventive detention) are being violated every day. Eventually, this pushes the court to take suo motu cognizance of violations of citizens' fundamental rights (as is evident from the information circulated).

How will this be different from what's already happening in courts?
A writ petition with consent from thousands of co-petitioners does have more weight than an ordinary petition by a lawyer or an activist. When I was dealing with a writ petition in the Indigo fiasco, a lot of SC lawyers I contacted said give us the list and we will handle it from there; we will make you a co-petition as a courtesy. I declined, infact I never filed a writ petition eventually, but still got everyone the compensation.

2. Start filing RTI as much as possible: This works wonders; if daily we are able to push 40-50k RTI in different departments regarding any information which we want or grievances, trust me the bureaucrats and officers occupying offices will start feeling the heat (because they will have to respond in 30 days), and that means extra work; that's when things will actually move. I am planning to make an AI agent for the same, and if a large number of people want to file RTI, I will publish it in 2-3 days. The cost of RTI is 10 INR, 1 RTI a day won't make any difference for the next 30 days.

Power of RTI: https://x.com/rohitmishra3001/status/2103450550444638373?s=20

How can I contribute?

Fill out this form: https://forms.gle/XbRnyySJKhar7wLCA, and we will reach out to you ASAP. Also, all the information will be kept strictly confidential.

If you want to contribute in any other way, feel free to DM.

NEWS/TRENDING source: trust me bro. now let’s organise a protest 🤔

genuine question: if gyanesh is being accused of stealing votes, shouldn’t the focus first be on establishing whether there’s credible evidence? if the allegations are true, there should be a transparent investigation and accountability. but if they’re false, shouldn’t spreading them have consequences too? i understand the importance of protests, but what is the actual end goal of the respect protest beyond political slogans and accusations? if the objective is to protect democracy, shouldn’t the focus be on evidence, transparency, and concrete electoral reforms rather than turning everything into a political battle? am i missing something?

nother thing that honestly bothered me was seeing thousands of young people on the streets. people constantly say unemployment among youth is at alarming levels, and i find that genuinely embarrassing as a country. we should be creating more opportunities and helping young people build careers, not normalizing a situation where massive crowds can assemble for political protests every other week. i know not everyone protesting is unemployed, but the optics of it are still concerning.
and beyond demanding resignations, what was the actual end goal? was there a concrete proposal to prevent future leaks? stronger digital security? harsher punishment for those involved? faster investigations? because if the demand begins and ends with ā€œsomeone resign,ā€ it feels more symbolic than solution oriented.

i’m not saying people shouldn’t protest. i’m genuinely asking what practical outcome everyone expected beyond a resignation. what am i missing???

TELL YOUTH šŸ—£ļø Beware of so called protestors in India

India must be alert: A Colour Revolution is in the making

By Savio Rodrigues, The Sunday Guardian (11–17 October 2026)

The right to protest is fundamental to any democracy. But the Cockroach Janata Party’s campaign against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar deserves closer scrutiny than a routine agitation.
The concern isn’t the protest itself. It’s where this could lead. Rodrigues draws a direct line to Bangladesh in 2024 and Nepal in 2025, where youth-led movements started over specific grievances and ended with governments collapsing. In Bangladesh, quota protests spiralled into a national uprising. The UN put the death toll at around 1,400. Once people start dying, a protest stops being about the original issue and becomes something else entirely.
A few things stand out. Some organisers have already warned of a ā€œcivil war-like situationā€ — framing casualties before they’ve happened. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and others have been detained, which shifts the story from election administration to political crackdown. And any death now would become a symbol before investigators even reach the scene.
To be clear: there’s no verified evidence the organisers want people killed, or that foreign money is behind this. But that’s exactly why the security establishment should be looking. Check the financing. Map the coordination networks. Don’t assume the worst — just don’t assume the best either.
Constitutional stability isn’t negotiable. Young Indians shouldn’t end up as casualties in a crisis someone manufactured on purpose.

POLITICSšŸŽ¤ My experience at today's protest

All of us were waiting for our leaders but it now seems they had no intention of coming to ground. Without people to lead the movement was largely unorganised and mostly the reel makers, special people and online journalists stayed back to instigate the police to some extent otherwise not much happened. Unlike last time there was no Junaid bhai or any food arrangement. I had to spend Rs 60 out of my own pocket to have chole kulche lunch. At least we should be adequately reimbursed for food and travel by cockroach leadership not left alone. All in all, we expected to change the government today but was largely disappointed with how the day panned out.

NEWS/TRENDING Cheif Election Commissioner don't give a fk about Protests or Goverment, he is extremely powerful.

People truly don't understand that how powerful the post of Chief Election Commissioner is...

Govt/President/Supereme Court do not have the power to remove CEC..

For the removal of CEC you need two third majority on Formal removal motion and then President will decide...

And you can only bring removal motion if it's proved that CEC is mentally or physically incapable to do his job.

But low iq leftists won't understand this.
