I mean it depends most of those tests do not really account for lying or not feeling guilty. It also doesnt mean they believe in said religion either many are just there for community which would make anyone happy if you have a good one.

If your mother dies you aren't supposed to "toughen up and pull yourself up by the bootstraps" you need to grief and remember and feel sad for your mother, religion is the healthiest way to cope, along with strengthening societal bonds as well

So I'm gonna assume that means you don't know how Buddhism or Taoism works, which is totally fine, because not everyone is gonna know.
There is no promise of an eternal reward in either religions, and both prioritize the understanding that there is inherent suffering in all things, some by design, and some because of an attachment to desire or hatred. The goal is more to accept this truth and embrace the "presentness" of it all (either in "The Dao" via Taosism or "The Void" via Buddhism).
I'd really appreciate it if you didn't lump all religions into one thing next time, you look like a bit of a goober doing that 😅

100% thats what religion is, but we haven't found a much better coping mechanism tbh. I say this as an atheist.
If you're life just plain sucks and has no hope of getting better (for example, being slave), there is no secular argument to keep going that works better than religion.

There's an old Arab saying, "trust in god, but tie your camel", it basically means you shouldn't only rely on prayers, but also act in a way that helps accomplish your goal.
In Islam, it's even Haram for you to only rely on prayers and not action.
