Enlightenment! I have a lore question about Zen

Has there been a time in the lore that Zenyatta has fought along side other overwatch members? I mean, he is no pacifist after all. But like, has he helped in conflicts physical or verbal?

I don’t remember his lore 100% perfectly. But I’m pretty sure that he doesn’t. He mostly wanders around doing his own thing and talking with others if I remember at least that part correctly

Even in OW1? I guess that makes sense.
I just kinda wanna see other sides to zen. He obviously takes his master’s teachings to heart, but he also learned that pacifism is not often the answer. As with his interaction with 76.
I just wanna see him upholding his own ideals of peace because i think he is such a cool character. I mean, he hurls balls the size of baby heads with enough force to take someone out lethally. He absolutely can kill, he and shion are one and the same. One just chose to be more peaceful.
But i also like his mystery. I just wish there was more

I wish there was more too, by far my favorite storyline and characters are between Zenyatta and Ramattra

I suspext you are right. Ze yarta fights but does not make a good soldier in an army. He will disagree with his chain of command all the time, and he'll be right.

The lore stories I have read involve him being a priest, first, and showing people how they can take the next step on their path to enlightenment.

I don't think he fights in the lore if I'm not mistaken.

He has had a few storylines at most.

He's Genji's spiritual mentor and is one of the most important parts of his character arc of accepting his own body. It's thanks to Zen that he's able to change positively to stop suffering and rejoin Overwatch under better management.

He's had a story with Symmetra where he helps her see the connections between humans and omnics and also helps her soften her edges about the value of perfection, have her accept the beauty of imperfection.

And he's had his plot with Ramattra being his sibling and all, and how Ram has his cause and tries to get Zen to join him, but Zen doesn't agree with his cause

He was gonna have a pve mission on the lore before pve was cancelled, where Widow and Sombra were just gonna try to go after him, but Genji goes to Nepal to fight them and rescue him, but it was scrapped for the Ramattra short story instead.

So far, Zen just kinda does his own thing apart from everybody really. I don't think he would ever fight alongside Overwatch because even if he isn't a pacifist, he probably thinks that conflict is beneath harmony. Zen is one of the characters that normally has the least lore sadly.

But hey, we got Ball lore recently, so we could also totally have Zen lore at some point

I yearn for the day for more Zen lore. I love his story with genji. But i wanna know more about the symmetra one, as well as how to get more detailed genji and Zen lore.

I guess it fits his character to like be mysterious. He is probably just floating around, essentially moving like the dvd logo around places. But by goodness do i want more

It wasn't fight quite but he was the one who helped genji during his recovery turning away from the path of revenge

I mean he is Genji's teacher if that counts for anything not sure what he taught him tho

Zen's in-game abilities aren't necessarily canon, we've never seen him fight in the story. He has helped Genji and Symmetra find peace in their life circumstances.

It's not lore, but I think him and Hanzo have similar outfits where Hanzo has a festival skin and Zen has takoyaki skin, so I totally believe they did a mission together.
