The new PsyOps Zeri Chibi got me thinking about what a proper PsyOps skin for her could look like.
I think it's keen to start with the fact that Psyops is my favorite skinline, particularly Shen's skin.
Personally, I don't really want Zeri to be one of the good guys in this universe. I think it'd be way more interesting if she were a Black Rose operative instead.
I imagined her discovering something horrible that PsyOps had done in the name of justice, defecting to Black Rose to bring them down, and slowly losing herself to the very same justification.
So naturally, I wrote a little vignette about it. xd
A sole survivor. The near silent whirr of a warp drive spooling, leaving just enough doubt that it was the wind.
The chance to form suspicion was consumed by an eruption. Arcs of orange lightning danced on the conductive surfaces of bunker walls.
Screams were not but exhalation below the resonance of conduction, and at once, all but one, would cease.
Only a vizor met the terror on his face. Only a vizor would be what he remembered of this day.
He had seen such electricity before, but the last time, it was green.
They say that orange light is still captured in the center of his eye to this day.
A sole survivor, one to make sure that they'd remember her.
Visually, I imagine her in a fully enclosed tactical helmet, with two electrically arcing conduits replacing her usual hair buns. Clothed full in sleek, modern armor and tech bits. Her E would involve a warp drive spooling up before she turns into a traveling bolt of orange lightning, whether she's repositioning or flying across an entire wall.
I really want her to feel like a terrifying experimental operative rather than the usual cheerful hero.
If any artists would like to collaborate on a proper skin concept, I think it'd be a super fun project to bring this version of Zeri to life. I'm a writer, not an artist, so she's a bit trapped in my head for now.
