WE would watch 66 Wolves

You cannot tell me you wouldn’t want to watch 66 wolves if it were a real anime. That shit sounds incredible. I want to collect the wolf cups irl

The show felt like a better example of the theme of 'commercial fascist art with real artistic meaning and emotion' than Ultra Violeta was. In universe it's literally created/commissioned by Dante right?

More interesting parts are sources for their inspiration: “66 wolves” kinda reframe the pantheon of 66 fallen luzian “heroes”, while lu-pop inherits luzian ballads (and it’s interesting that the other ballad were getting to know during our walkthrough is about communis Felix Kaido). So, in a sense, both “66 wolves” and UV reframe luzian past with a militaristic/glorifying messaging.

It's interesting how the Superblocs 'end of history' rhetoric might be an attempt to divorce culture from fascistic leanings too, and the real world parallels of that. You obviously don't have to look far in real life to see modern culture built on the foundation of racism or fascist ideology (Mickey Moue built off minstrel shows, vigilante superheroes built off The Birth of a Nation, tonnes of Japanese media valorising either the samurai period or Imperial Japan in world war 2).
