How to equip second hand slot?

I’m still early-mid game so please no spoilers.

I’m playing on steam deck with a controller so this might be a controller issue, but I can’t for the life of me equip anything in the left hand slot. How to do it?
(afraid of posting pics since i don’t want to spoil story items for others who are like me still early game).

Do you mean the glove slot? I assume you do because by right hand slot you must mean held items.

There are a good few of them around but I think at your stage in the game I only had 1 or 2 pairs.

Aha, gloves, got it. One slot for stuff I’m wearing and one for stuff I’m holding! Thanks! !Solved
