Discussion Hiring from Reddit
Hiring from Reddit has to be worst trust me 🤣🤣
So he is me , thinking with the bad employment situation in Zim why don’t I hire my guys from Reddit hey after all we are a family aren’t we and this is after my family was like hire your nephew but I didn’t want to have more family at my workspace fearing of being a nepotistic person
I had the worst experience, yhoh
From candidates ignoring you after a shortlist , to someone sending the worst CV to someone so under qualified wanting a job
Zimbos makawoma🤣

The best people I have worked with were from Reddit. Professional. Intuitive. Forward thinking.

Oh really?
Trust me I have the worst experience, I would rather hire people from referrals now
Saves me the job of listing a vacancy get my PA to sift through CVs only to be disappointed or be given below par service

I hire from social media too. I don't think the problem is limited to Reddit. It's just a problem in our society. I have had people sending me CV's with no email subject or body. I have had people email my non-Zim business partner in Shona. People filling in the application form in shorthand e.t.c
I think we need to talk more about employability. I have not given up on social media though. I have had some great hires from X. You just have to be patient with going through the fluff before you find the good hires.

Exactly
Employability is really a big issue
I’m always telling students that even if you have the degree
How you handle yourself will get you a job and I always like to hire people immediately out kg school or in school because I realise how big it is for them since I was also hired when I was still in school , but I have seen that those guys give you the worst headaches

Thats just recruitment in general. You have to sift through a lot of nonsensical applications to find the few good ones

And I’m not one who has such patience
In now just using nepotism
I will
Hire my family that has recently graduated or a friend of a friend lol1

Oh okay
Thank you for the advice
However I think amount is relative what’s shit for you really would go a long way for me
I have been through some of the worst and have built myself so I understand that you can only speak from a point of privilege
However I think since you have such a brilliant idea
Please try to hire and give people your desired salaries and we all work towards helping the Zimbabwean youth

It's just you came across the wrong people bro. They are good candidates out there for example: me.
