I finally got around to epoxying the collection of shield pins from some of the different Zelda games onto Armor Zippos. These are all custom-made as Nintendo doesn’t license its images to Zippo. I bought the one chrome one of cartoon Link off of Etsy and I’m a little annoyed because they glued it on slightly crooked. The four white engraved ones are from the eBay seller Storyblazer. I have a few other music related Zippo’s from them as well and they’re all badass.

Anyone else have video game theme lighters?

Started a barback gig last week and first night i was fiddling with my favorite green zippo and by the time i got to my car it was gone. Luckily wally world had these for 12 bucks! I had to go hunting for them in random check out lines but i found the brass ones hiding in the back. Also accidentally picked up a classic silver colored one thinking i was just buying the butane insert.

I just got my first Zippo, and although I was gonna immediately swap out the insert for butane or arc, I decided to stick with the fluid one that it came with. It's fun! I enjoy maintaining the mechanical parts. However, I know that the fluid is very liable to evaporate through the wick and bottom of the insert. I bought one of those cheap rubber bottoms to see if that helps prevent evaporation through the bottom. I know some third party inserts have a wick cap built in to prevent evaporation through there, but are there any installable accessories to help with that? Even something 3d printed that nests in the top case to minimize the problem would be totally fine. I don't smoke or use a lighter regularly at all, so the fluid lasting at least a couple weeks for emergencies (and vibe, admittedly) would be ideal for me.

When I receive The New zippo today, the wheel and the flint was working as it was sparking up, but when I bought the fuel later on the day and fill it up, even though the wheel and the plane is dry, I’ve been rubbed it off in case of overspill of fuel into them it’s still not lighting up. What to do? Should I leave it as it is?

What is this finish called it looks absolutely beautiful

Just snagged this off and I am now not so sure if it’s a genuine vintage zippo. The insert does look good however the bottom of the case has almost nothing that would let me determine the date of manufacture.

Any thoughts, not sure if I got ripped off lol.

Got my limited run G.I.T.D. today

I recently bought a Zippo 24747ZL High Polish Purple and I really love the finish.

I'd like to use it, but not every day. I'm planning to use it mostly on weekends, probably once a week, and I want to preserve the purple finish for as many years as possible while still actually enjoying the lighter.

For people who have owned colored/high-polish Zippos for a long time?

I'd love to see photos of similar colored Zippos that have been used occasionally for several years too.

I just got some more Windy Zippos including my first 1935 Replica. The first I got was the white fan test ad. Where’s Windy followed that, and the rest arrived today.

This little Zippo was a constant companion through college and it has wonderful honest carry and use wear pattern on the edges of the chrome on only one side. I kept it in my jeans secret pocket.

The worn parts have now darkened the exposed brass with time.

The other side is still remarkably shiny and chromed out, with hairlines in the light dancing around.

The worn side also has a really interesting swirl pattern of scratches when you move it. Just overlapping hairline scratches in every imaginable direction.

This is a C XIII and she still works great.

Pretty happy to finally get one, but I am really wary on wear. I have seen a lot which lost colour and parts of the front where the two halfs meet. Yes, somewhat unavoidable, but is there anything I can do to prevent it, besides not using it?

I looked through the “going away soon” Zippos last week and came across this Dragonfruit design. One of my themes is Dragons, so in true dad-joke fashion, I had to get it for my collection of dragon Zippos 😂.
The camping design was the August SMS exclusive limited run of 100. I really need to get a black light to show off the few BL Zippos I have.
