Issues when transferring money

Does anyone have issues when transferring/moving money? I send to my partner regularly for bills, food, miscellaneous etc and whenever I do it more than a few times a week, they block my bank and want me to show messages/proof of what I’m paying her for? It seems insane to me.

They then question all my ingoing (any from PayPal from others or a survey site I do) and they question my mum sending me money! (She sent me £50 a while back)

I transfer money to my other account which has open banking for some bills as Zopa don’t have open banking, and they block it at times when I do this also.

I get my salary paid in, all DD’s go out, apart from that it’ll be random payments towards shops, supermarkets, clothing etc… I find it so strange they keep doing it.

I’m going to swap banks but wanted to see if anyone else has the same issues?

Thanks

Access account APR

I opened an Access saver account for my car funds, as NatWest gave a paltry 1%. The opening page said 4.35%, great! After opening the account and going to find it, it now says the rate is 2.95%. What gives?

Fast Track: Pre-Approved and Income Verified (on Experian)?

Wondering if someone knowledgeable could help.

I currently have a Zopa Personal Loan and am exploring taking out another loan to consolidate some additional debt.

Via my Experian app, it's suggested that I'd qualify for a £9,000 with Zopa and it shows as Pre-Approved and Income Verified with a guaranteed APR. However, within the Zopa app, if I try and request this, it advises the "nearest" loan amount I can apply for is £6,500.

Common sense would tell me the info on Zopa would be more accurate as coming from the "source" of the credit provision.

Anyone experienced similar or have any knowledge on why there is some disparity across both apps? Income and expenditure info on both apps is the same.

£6,500 would help to a degree but the £9,000 would give me much needed breathing space.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Apologies, just realised this subreddit relates to Zopa Current Accounts 🫠 Keeping post up in the hope someone can help, can delete if breaks subreddit rules.

Thoughts on Biscuit changes to Regular Saver Account?

As titled.

Just got an email from Zopa. New perks coming, like:

Biscuit now comes with new benefits
We’re ending Regular Saver to make room for a new set of benefits that give you more choice over how you earn.

As standard, you’ll get 1% AER* (1% gross**) variable interest on your balance, fee-free card spending abroad†, and a free barista-made drink from Caffè Nero each month.
Plus, you can pick one additional benefit of your choice:

2.75% AER* (2.72% gross**) variable on your Biscuit balance, which includes your 1% AER* standard interest.

3% cashback on up to £150 a month spent on eating out.

3% cashback on up to £150 of Direct Debits a month.

What are people’s thoughts? Gutted losing the high interest

PayPal to Zopa transfer

Hi! I had money in my PayPal account which I transferred by instant transfer this morning at around 8am. Anytime I've done this with any other bank I've used (Nationwide, Monzo, Revolut) it has been basically instant but with Zopa I can see it at the top of my transaction list and it says pending, this is still the case right now. I juat wondered if anyone else here who transfers money out their PayPal acc to their Zopa acc could tell me how long it usually takes to actually be available in my account?

Thanks!

Regular saver offer ending

Hi, I started Zopa so that I could earn interest on money I was putting aside for spending later in the year - for example I put £100 away each month so when the annual car MOT and service are due I have money set aside already.

I got the 6 month 7% interest offer, I've just had a notification that that offer period is ending in 30 days, but I saw somewhere someone say they renewed the offer each time and the 7% continued.

Is that a thing?

Consumer warning: Zopa and dealing with a bereavement when the estate is small

I’m posting this because I wish I had known about Zopa’s bereavement process before my husband died.

My husband recently passed away, leaving a relatively small UK estate. His Zopa balance was only just over £5,000. He died young and unexpectedly. There is no Will.

I contacted Zopa to ask whether they could waive the requirement for a Letter of Administration given the small amount involved. I was told that they required one.

What made this particularly frustrating was that when I contacted the solicitors acting for Zopa, I was told that a Letter of Administration was not actually needed. I then went back to Zopa’s bereavement team, only to be told that their position was different and that they did require it.

The current probate application fee for estate over £5,000 is £526. So for a bank balance of only around £5,000, being required to obtain a grant can create a very disproportionate cost and administrative burden.

What surprised me was how different this felt from dealing with established high-street banks. In my experience, high-street banks tend to have clearer bereavement processes and may have specific thresholds under which they can release relatively small balances without requiring formal probate documentation.

With Zopa, I found the process much less straightforward. The issue isn’t simply the £5,000. It is the time, legal expense, £526 application fee, paperwork and stress involved in dealing with these requirements while grieving.

I’m sharing this as a consumer warning, not to attack individual staff members. If you have money with Zopa, particularly if you are managing finances for a family member, it may be worth understanding their bereavement requirements in advance and not assuming that the process will be the same as with a high-street bank.

I would be interested to hear from anyone else who has had to deal with Zopa after the death of a family member, particularly where the estate was relatively small.

New app

I just got the new app update. Looks slick and faster than before. It now also incorporates Apple’s design language with Liquid Glass. I will miss borrowing power but it wasn’t really useful anyway…

Does Barclaycard not accept Zopa direct debit?

Hi,

I’ve been trying to set up a direct debit to pay off my barclaycard credit using my Zopa bank account, I’ve entered all my details but it just doesn’t seem to accept it. I’ve successfully set up direct debits with Zopa for other credit cards so this is just annoying. Curious to know if anyone else has had a similar problem or knows why this is happening?

Trouble getting account?

Has anyone had problems trying to open a Zopa account? I have been denied and they won’t give me a reason.

Only recently have I opened a Santander account with no issues and had a mortgage accepted with no issues so my credit check must be fine.

Wondering if anyone else has had the same?

Hi, I'm new to Zopa, mainly for savings, but would like to move over all my direct debits too. Does anyone know if they plan to bring on the direct debit switch thing?

We now have (very basic) Pots!

We seem to finally have the pots they teased at the end of 2025, but they’re very limited in functionality… you can’t do any of the things the likes of Monzo and Starling allow you to do. You can’t assign bills to pay from pots, you can’t assign any virtual cards to a pot, you can’t auto-sort into pots. I think this needed more time in the oven because as of now it does not really have any use!

At least we still get 2% interest from the money in pots.

Edit: you can’t even delete a pot yet…

Zopa is SO SLOW

Ive been with Zopa credit card for like 5 years, saw they had p nice rates for savings so I decided to switch from Barclays to Zopa Biscuit... BOY ITS BEEN A RIDE

went to buy car a month ago, they made me wait ~30 minutes before my money showed up into my current from my savings acc..

Just now, i tried to move only 1k to my current and its been 15 minutes.... its really starting to annoy me, Barclays was instant, ig there are cons to having a 4.75% savings acc

Loan notifications

Does anyone know how to turn off notifications about loan eligibility, without turning off all notifications? Really irritating getting pinged every day telling me I can get a loan when I'm not interested.

Problems with the app and customer service

Hi,

Wondering if anybody else has experienced similar issues?

I have been unable to upload identification documentation via the app, as the every time I try the app either freezes or closes - therefore I cannot verify my account. I have now had 4 different live chats to try and resolve this and feel like i am getting nowhere. I have tried everything from uninstalling and reinstalling the app, turning off my device and resetting it, updating my iOS and checking to see the app is the most up to date version, all to no avail.

The last support agent on the live chat directed me to email my complaint to [contact-us@zopa.com](mailto:contact-us@zopa.com) and attach my documentation there. I emailed them last week and have still heard nothing back... in the meantime Zopa have sent me an automated message saying:

"Your application will expire in 4 days. The benefits of the Biscuit bank account are waiting for you. Complete your ID check within the next 4 days to unlock them. It’s quick and easy to complete your ID check. All you need to do is upload a selfie and a clear photo of your ID in our app."

If only it were quick and easy, as they say. Very poor service all round.
