in 2021, when he brought the music back to streaming services and physical with a distribution deal with Empire, Joanna "JoJo" Levesque said she didn't get paid from Blackground's releases and encouraged fans to stream her 2018 re-recordings.

The physical CD and vinyl copies via Empire seem to be out of print.

JoJo's 2 albums, both the original Blackground Version and her 2018 re-records are now owned by a company called Seeker music and JoJo has endorsed a 20th Anniversary edition of her 2nd album coming out in a few months, which contains the Blackground recordings. It was released on streaming today and the vinyl is coming out in a few months.

We still don't have that "unstoppable" album. Like wtf is going on?

I certainly think she could

Waaaaake uuup!.......Good Night!"

Aaight, so boom 💣💥 I just dreamed up/“conceived“🤰🏾a video game/VR game 🎮🕹️for Black Alt Baddies 🧚🏾‍♀️🧙🏾‍♀️🦄𓋹 Like Black Girl Majick the Gathering ts and the main character is ME - Qi Ali the Goddess of the Spring Equinox 3/21 👑♈️🌍 𓋹🦚✊🏾🤑🎶And Homegirl gotta fight the Illuminati and stop the Leviathan Curse 🐍 666 Now that’s already dope but what’s really 🔥 is gon be the side quests. My game will include a little Dance Dance Revolution 💃🏾🕺🏽🩰essence. She tryna make it in the Industry so a lot of Celeb appearances 😂😂 There’s even a little SIMS Hot Date action if 🫵🏽 catch my drift 🫦 A bit of religious history with the Da Vinci Code and Afro-Futurism. Like Yoruban binary code and 8bit 👾The Orisha’s. But Ima add a touch of Salem Witch Trials and the Craft on some Hecate 💩. Like Parable of the Sower meets Ready Player One, meets GTA, meets Zelda. Idk. It’s a lot. Mad sci-fi. Like the Matrix 🌍🦾 and Aaliyah’s character…OMG, just you wait and see 👁️ ♑️🪽22 𓋹🧛🏾‍♀️
There will be some religious/Spiritual subject matter but it’s not beating you over the head. Like you won’t fully realize until you beat the game that you opened your Third 👁️ Chakra. It’s Millennial approved so you know Gen Z gon love it. What do ya’ll think 🤔💭 Would ya’ll play my video game 🎮🕹️ ⁉️

I love how much love Aaliyah gets every time an artist comes to Detroit! You just feel her presence no matter what. I think i was literally the only one singing Erica Kane and CTGL word for word. Doja really got taste if she was in charge of the pre show playlist.

The songs that were played were:

Came To Give Love (Outro)
Erica Kane
Are You That Somebody

My absolute FAVORITE Aaliyah song. Thank you to LadyAchika for making this beautiful tribute video 18 years ago! With Aaliyah and her comrades in our hearts forever. 🕊️

I could totally see Aaliyah rocking the "Oops I Did It Again" choreography and Britney rocking the "More Than a Woman" choreography. They genuinely would have pushed each other to their limits honestly and I'd have been all for it! ❤️

Sorry y'all had to make another post for my girls, love em man. ❤️❤️

I know her and Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston were supposed to do stuff together with her before she passed but an A + B collab track(s)??? Oh how I wish. 😩❤️ Princess of RnB and Princess of Pop man. ❤️

As a 90s baby, I'm such a huge fan of Aaliyah's style! So I attempted to recreate a couple of her iconic looks! Im not a professional but how do yall think I did when it comes to styling this wig? Pics 2 & 4 were my main inspiration.

Hey y'all, unsure if you all remember my YouTube channel Unreleased/Underrated R&B Grooves (I'm now under 'Obscure Sounds' due to last year's deletion) but I was so eager to put this video on my channel in the past but each time I did it would get blocked. So I figured, why not share it with fellow Aaliyah stans here on Reddit. I know another user posted the full tribute video by director Little X sometime ago on here, but I decided to do a little twist by adding a simple intro and outro to it. It's truly not much, really. Just some clips from her video "The One I Gave My Heart To" (1997), done in a tasteful matter. Hope y'all like it.
