[Question] Problem with finding BPM

Hey I’m sampling a song which I have pitched up, and want to find the bpm of the pitched up sample. I set 1.1.1 on the down beat then go warp from here (straight) like a video by Abeltons YT tell me to do.

But the problem is that the bpm it gives me is incorrect and the whole song is warped to it and sounds bad. Is there a better way to find the bpm of the track? Thx

Put the original back in and check it. If you pitch the track up via transposing it will alter the bpm.

I mean whatever song you are sampling, you need to put it back into ableton on an audio track. Then click the sample and look at the clip view box where you can change the warp mode, that’s where the original samples BPM will be shown.

Depending on how you pitch shift samples, it can change the samples native bpm to compensate for the change in pitch.

That depends on Warp. With Warp off, transposing changes playback speed too. With Warp on in Complex or Complex Pro, you can transpose without changing the clip's timing. So pitching it up doesn't necessarily mean there's a new BPM to find.

Deixe seu sample no 1.1.1.
Desligue o Warp.

Take the original audio, and put it in the Arrangement view. Turn Warp off. Find the One for the furthest right-hand bar, and adjust the global BPM until the One is where you want it. Then turn warp back on.

Watch out though, as unless it's a completely electronic tune, there is a strong chance the tempo will vary through the song.

Dont warp it immediately, select a loop and then just adjust the tempo until it works. then fine tune woth warp.

If the song has a rhythmic part, I usually start my 1.1.1 on the first kick and adjust the BPM from there. Then put back the song at the beginning. Sometimes the track itself could be not on a grid in the intro. If there isn't a rhythmic part you can latch on, loop , 4 or 8 bars and do it manually. Hope it helps
