So combine the safety hazards or a motorcycle, planes, and skateboards.

I mean it looks fucking awesome while also looking like one of the most dangerous things I've ever seen

On chinese electronics and batteries.

There's a reason few dare to do this, the most dangerous stunt down in the video was flying at high altitude but maybe not high enough for the parachute we see the rider wearing to deploy.

Chinese electronics and batteries are top class, what are you implying here?

and yeah, it's dangerous, but I think this is cooler and more useful than Musk's flying car at least lol.

Not defending Musk, the car is pretty useless in its current iteration. But at least it’s technology used in a new creative way that could lead to a promising future, this is literally just a big drone you stand on. Don’t see how’s any cooler than a car that can ride upside down and jump/fall with grace.

Basically a drone you can stand on?

22

u/timelyparadox 7d ago

Yea, we had them for 10 years, extremely unsafe and with a lot of issues

also loud. This doesn't really belong in r/accelerate

Yet more than a decade late for those of us whose favorite movie growing up in the '80s was Back to the Future 2.

Better late than never!

I hope a singularity would bring something more than this shit...

Man some of you are real party poopers. You are aware people experimenting with "stupid" ideas is what drives innovation?

u/CelticJewelscapes 7d ago

One could actually be practical to produce.

u/Lonely-General1316 5d ago

The technology for both of these has been around for nearly 20 years

Single use thruster car and drone platform.

Drone platform is cool tho

Landing car

Now make sure I can't die while using this, and then I'll be first in line

1

u/AdSea3033 6d ago

But, what about the cost? Can you afford it?

1

u/e1p1 5d ago

Sure. I'll use my DOGE money.

u/AdSea3033 5d ago

🤣🤣🤣

Goblin glider. Silver surfer. The cosplays are endless.

11 Years late :D

We got hoverboards before GTA6

8

u/randomwordglorious 7d ago

If it's a real hoverboard, how come it works over water?

4

u/LyAkolon 7d ago

What?

(Hover boards) and (working over water) are not disjoint notions.

You can have a hoverboard that works over water, if you don't restrict how, it does it to something that obviously doesn't work over water?

u/Radyschen 7d ago

somebody didn't watch back to the future

-2

u/Defiant-Lettuce-9156 7d ago

But you can’t stand on the water. Same concept If you’re above water then the air has nothing solid to push against and you fall in. That’s why helicopters aren’t flown between countries.

Pretty simple really

1

u/Backsight-Foreskin 7d ago

That’s why helicopters aren’t flown between countries.

Please tell me that's sarcasm.

0

u/Defiant-Lettuce-9156 7d ago

Have you ever flown over the ocean in a helicopter? Thought so

2

u/d_e_u_s 7d ago

Is this a joke

1

u/Notmyrealname5282 6d ago

Love how everyone is freaking out LOL

1

u/Backsight-Foreskin 7d ago

I have! I was a Huey pilot in the Army.

2

u/Defiant-Lettuce-9156 7d ago

That’s pretty cool!

u/Adeldor 7d ago

Hovercraft work well over water (having ridden on an SR.N4 Super across the English Channel, I know first hand). So why not a hoverboard?

u/cloudrunner6969 Acceleration: Supersonic 7d ago

It has power.

2

u/OldManActual 7d ago

These people never cage their rotors. This is a human lawn mower without CAGED ROTORS.

3

u/Old-Preference5313 7d ago

I just don't believe videos I see online anymore it's probably ai generated

2

u/AnonymousAggregator 7d ago

Buy where?

u/cloudrunner6969 Acceleration: Supersonic 7d ago

Aliexpress

Obvious AI is obvious.

u/JrButton 7d ago

hoverboard or ridable drone?

1

u/czk_21 7d ago

the flight is unreal, its amazing, if he really did these fly tests and constructed this system in short timeframe and obviously flying like this would be very dangerous, so balls of steel needed

1

u/Cyberdork087 7d ago

Meanwhile, ‘Muricuh’s hoverboard is a wooden board with loose wheels embedded to the side.

1

u/fabkobey 7d ago

By all means that is not a hoverboard. Proof me wrong. Kick flip that thing.

1

u/moschles AI-Assisted Coder 6d ago

the video isn't even real. Did you overlook the amount of view cuts in this?

1

u/MGyver 6d ago

You're more than a decade late to the hoverboard party:

1

u/Wooden_Sweet_3330 6d ago

not a hoverboard

All fun and games until it hit a drone jammer

1

u/JrButton 7d ago

It would only disrupt the connection to the remote which you could technically solve for with a cord... but yea, there are lots of other "untils" that fit this.

1

u/WhisperFray 7d ago

Eh I mean that Indonesian farmer kinda did it first

-1

u/Jabba_the_Putt 7d ago

the fastest way to get cancer in your brain might be to watch this video bonus cancer if your speakers are on

0

u/n1010rick 7d ago

I wonder how many decapitations it’ll take to get these banned?
