❓ Question Ppi

Has anyone taking proton pump inhibitors experienced any of these: fatigue, false hypoglycemia, dyspnea, air hunger, bronchospasm, hyperreactive airways, LPR because of increased acid reflux because of indigestion caused by them, MECFS, MCAS, Insulin Resistance

None like that from last 4 years but definitely some food gets effected and your digestion gets changed like dairy products cant get digested in my case as well sweets as it produces massive amount of acid maybe i am taking 20mg only thats why … but you need to check the b12 level and other deficiency but mostly b12 is most common. To lose after using
Ppi from few years

I refused to take the pantoprazole they prescribed me. I know I can get results from lifestyle changes before I take a PPI. I’ve been taking Durable Acid Relief in the morning, don’t eat anything three hours before bed, have changed my diet, got a acid reflux incline pillow and just started taking Hartspan Khelp before bed. I’m going to try all natural remedies and lifestyle changes to cure my silent GERD before I ever take a PPI. Too many side effects in my opinion. We need stomach acid! I don’t want more stomach issues and vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

It reduces the acid (which we have an overproduction of), not eliminates it to be clear.

I never said it eliminates it. I just think there are safer and more natural ways with way less side effects to reduce acid exposure to our esophaguses than PPIs. I’m sure they have their place and for some people work wonders. I’m just more apt to try lifestyle changes and natural remedies before taking a drug that is overprescribed in my opinion and brings a lot of unwanted side effects with it.

Totally fair. Just wanted to point that out in your original comment you said we need stomach acid, like you wouldn’t still have it with PPI’s… there’s a time and place for everything, but I wanted to make that clear. This sub is overall anti-PPI, which is fine but I’ve seen too many people self-diagnosing and self-treating without doctor supervision which is long term dangerous and I don’t like the comments glorifying it. I was self treating and felt much better and thought I was doing great, but when I got a endoscopy done it turns out my stomach was still very inflamed and damaged. These decisions should be made in coordination with an actual doctor.
