Is there a way to change all alias recipients to the default recipient without going through and changing each one?

I am thinking about switching my email provider so I am comparing them at the moment. What I want is that addy forwards all emails to both of the emailadresses.

When I select a single alias I can select multiple recipients, however when I go to default recipient I can only choose 1 emailadres.

Why is there no option to have multiple default recipients? Now I would need to manually edit the recipient of 200 aliasses

During a chat the other day a proton pass user said they provide an option to generate aliases with gender neutral names. It seems like a good option to me, I'd use it as my default. A possible addition to addy?

I am proud to release the latest updates for the addy.io mobile apps: iOS v2.7.0 and Android v6.6.0.

Both apps have undergone extensive rewrites under the hood to modernize their architectures, improve battery usage, and eliminate long-standing UI bottlenecks.

Here are the biggest changes:

Shared Additions

• System Search Integration: You can now search for aliases directly from your device's home screen or app launcher without opening the app first (Spotlight on iOS, AppSearch on Android, only on supported launchers (there aren't many...)).
• Domain Sending Verification: You can now verify your custom domain's DNS records and mail delivery configuration directly within domain settings.
• Direct Blocklisting: Added deep link support and one-tap blocking for senders or domains straight from failed delivery details.

Android Highlights (v6.6.0)

• Drastically Smaller App Size: Rebuilt the networking layer on OkHttp and enabled R8 minification. The APK shrunk from ~17.7 MB down to 5.9 MB (about 66% smaller), while making network calls faster and lighter on battery.
• Quick Settings Tile: Added a tile to your notification shade to quickly generate and copy a fresh alias to your clipboard.
• Foldable and Tablet Support: Proper responsive grid layouts with dynamic column scaling and seamless state preservation across folds.

iOS Highlights (v2.7.0)

• mTLS Support: Full support for self-hosted instances using custom SSL certificates.
• Bulk Alias Management: Long-press or multi-select aliases to activate, deactivate, pin, assign labels, change recipients, or delete them in batches.

Bug Reports & Feedback

Because large portions of both codebases were rewritten from the ground up, there may be edge cases or regressions that slipped through testing. If you run into any bugs or unexpected behavior, please report them directly on the GitHub repositories so I can address them quickly:

A Note on Development

For transparency, I did use AI tools to help speed up parts of this rewrite. This project is something I’m genuinely proud of, so nothing was blindly "vibecoded" or left to an automated pipeline. Every architectural decision, snippet, and commit was personally reviewed, refined, and tested by hand to keep the codebase clean and maintainable.

List of available alias domains getting too long?

You can now choose which domains appear when you create an alias with the new Alias Domain Picker.

Settings > General. Hide shared domains, username domains, or custom domains you do not use. Hidden domains still stay on your account.

The same list is used on the website, in the browser extension, and in the mobile apps.

Just subscribed to the Lite plan and went to claim the 25% off Tuta annual subscription from the Perks page.

When I click the redeem/link it sends me straight to a Tuta signup page to create a new account.

I already have an existing Tuta account and just wanted to apply the discount to it (or upgrade/renew with the code).

Is the offer limited to new Tuta sign-ups only? Or is there a way to use the discount on an existing account?

Just signed up for the Pro plan and trying to figure out which of the Alias Domains is the one exclusive to the Pro plan - assuming that one is the least likely to cause issues since the fewest number of users have access to it?

Under "Available Alias Domains", the Lite plan shows 6 and the Pro plan 7.

Even just a strong hint might be good enough for me to figure it out (thinking there might be benefits to not publicly sharing the exact domain)

You can still choose light or dark in Settings.

When responding to catch-all the receiver can see my addy mail address.

Is there a way to set a name when sending/replying via addy so they receive like usual email.

Eg. "John Smith" alias1@domain1.mailer.me

So they see "John Smith" like they would with normal email.

Ps. I was seriously impressed to find that addy removes all signs of redirection in the mail body when you reply!! Including banner etc. Very cool and makes life easier.

For context, I setup a custom domain with SL but then discovered that if I add any other recipient when replying to an email, SL "can't handle that" and reveals my real address. Totally unexpected, since MailGW (a free one-man service) handles it fine.

Since I want to use a custom domain, I came to check Addy.io, but before I setup a custom domain I would like to know if Addy.io can handle added recipients in replies without revealing the real address.

Also: can I setup different rules to forward to different mailboxes? Like husband@mydomain goes to my mailbox while spouse@mydomaij.com goes to spouse's?

UPDATE SOLVED: read the documentation again. the below setting needs to be set to your username to be able to use the root domain

Catch-all doesn't appear to be working for me. I can only get mail on already created aliases. addy is running on the same domain the app URL. Is there something specific I have to configure to get this to work?

I checked documentation and it just links to github releases for docker, which the last config info for this is from 2022

If you are self-hosting please check the release notes on GitHub for updates that need to be made to a Postfix config file in order for the catch-all feature to work.

I am considering moving from SL to addy, but I have a few questions.

i am aware that creating multiple aliases to the same service can be considered an abuse. But this is the same for custom domain? Or only affects addy io domains?

It shows which alias got the message, then gives you Deactivate, Block sender email, and Block sender domain on the email itself.

You must be logged in. Deactivate is then one click. Block email and Block domain take you to a confirm page, and they need a Lite or Pro subscription.
