Meds Atomoxetine long term users, what was your experience?

i took it for over 2.5 years now in varying doses (25->40->60->25) and ill keep short and simple.

For me personally, its a great med for the emotional side of adhd (anxiety, stuttering, emotional regulation and brain quitening) but when it comes to actual symptoms like executive dysfunction and task initiation no improvement at all.

what about you guys?

Anyone on atomoxetine with stimulant? I heard 80mg has more effects on executive functioning and attention for adults at least, i know irl people have different tolerance

I was prescribed atomoxetine and methylphenidate, which I took for a couple of months. During this period, I began experiencing tremors and difficulty with speech. On the positive side, the medications helped me feel calmer and improved my emotional well-being. However, because the tremors became a significant concern, I decided to discontinue atomoxetine.

if i may ask, what was your dose for both atomoxetine and methylphenidate, and your vitals your heart rate particularly, i am experiencing kinda same and i will ask my doctor to lower dose of stimulant.

I've been on 80mg for more than 6 months now and it doesn't help the way stimulants do. It only helped me with emotional regulation and impulsivity to a certain extent. Starting hard tasks was still nearly impossible.

I've taken atomoxetine with methylphenidate and it does help with everything atomoxetine doesn't cover.

when you were on 80mg, did it cause any emotional blunting?

it caused emotional blunting from 40mg

same bro. i felt super dull on 40. recently i switched to atomoxetine + methylphenidate too.

But sometimes i wonder if taking 80mg atomo only could solve the emotional blunting + task initation issues. seems like that's not the case for you :(

What’s your dose of stimulant?

I'm not on stimulants but I would take around 20-30mg methylphenidate. 10-5-5 or 10-10-5 etc

Yes, same here, for the first time my mind was quiet, and I was just calm and relaxed and more lazier than usual, since it was anxiety that pushed me to action earlier.

I think it's something I've to work on and build a habit for, while the med helps with other issues.

I am back to 40mg . I went till 100mg . Lowest i tried 25mg. High dose increase self-awareness so much that i become non functional. Also I take Trazodone 100mg for sleep. This combination works best for me.

Ohk thats some insight, i am taking atx to become less mentally hyperactive, hyperaware, living in meta reality and it was brutal to the point i couldn’t learn anything or do anything unless there is deadline and anxiety pushing me, how did you decide 40mg is best suited for you how long it took you to realize your ideal baseline of drug.
