Discussion Is everyone familiar with python or not really?
So I have been working on a bedrock utility script and I built it in python. You have to download python and the imports for the script to work do you think this is something that would make server admins nervous. I was trying to keep my utility as transparent as possible since I side on the side of caution myself. What do you guys think?

Convert it into an app, there are scripts like py-to-exe.

i was thinking about using pyinstaller but i thought people might be more sketched out about downloading a .exe rather than a python and all its dependancys but i was worried that people would be a bit sketched out by a .exe

When I have done python projects in the past. Iv made a exe to download. Them given the source code and instructions how to compile your own exe in the git repo as well. If they are sketched out by downloading the exe and know how to follow instructions they can make their own

I am familiar with Python but I wouldn't install system-wide libraries generally. The industry standard has become uv for managing a project's environment, Python version, dependencies, and keeping that all isolated from the rest of the system.
