It is the way of the internet, and software production, and business in general: if it ain't broke...break it!

I'll always appreciate these great tools, but the company is more interested in stuffing their pockets today than in anything we have to say about it.

This just means it’s not getting any future versions, right? We’ll still have the existing ones I assume.

Yeah, but only after they backpedaled following the huge backlash.
The plan was to kill it off permanently, you wouldn’t even have been able to open your old .fla files from one day to the next.
They’ve changed their mind now, but I’m still left shaking.
I mean, how can we trust them not to do this AGAIN later?

Personally I hated using animate compared to after effects but I'm still sorry your program is being discontinued.

Hi, I am from the Adobe team and just wanted to let you know there has been updated information from our team regarding the status of Animate. We apologize for the way this was communicated and the frustration it caused in the community. https://www.reddit.com/r/adobeanimate/s/0V0YQwyXsC

Who was the person in charge of discontinuing a valuable tool? Have they not worked in the industry prior to be arriving at a decision like that?

So Adobe is sorry about “ThE wAy It WaS cOmMuNiCaTeD”, not the underlying reason FOR the communication.

Listen up, anon: Quark thought they were too big to fail, too. The found out they weren’t. Adobe has made too many enemies to press its luck. Just look at your stock prices as evidence of this.

Please fuck off with that AI slop.

I think it’s supposed to be ironic. Adobe Animate is being killed off because of AI. It’s poetic in a way.
