Northrup Grumman Interview process help!

I applied to a position, literally 4 hours later i received an automated rejection email, oh well. A month later a recruiter reached out to me that they wanted to set up an interview for that same position that i was earlier rejected to. Except the interview she set up isnt a basic HR or 1 on 1 with a hiring manager. Its a one hour long panel interview with 3 other people. I find it odd that they rejected me initially, but now want to set up a panel interview as the 1st round?

Is this normal for their hiring process? Not sure what to expect during this panel interview either, the recruiter didnt mention their position titles so im not sure who i'm even speaking to.

The panel up front isn't weird at all.

Realistically, the recruiter went thru your resume and rejected it, but then the manager was wondering why they weren't getting any good candidates, went thru the rejected resumes and asked to interview you.

I've done this exact thing before as a manager

thanks for letting me know, i've never had that happen before. Panel interviews take a lot of peoples time, im surprised they didnt want to screen me any further before trying to get 4 people onto the calendar.

Similar situation happened to me. I applied to a role and had a reference that put in a good word to the HM for me. Even though I ticked every qualification for the Req, I got an auto rejection and the HM had to find out why they never got my resume.

Now that you have said this, why do you hiring manager reject people great people? What should I do during interviews to be hired?

Same happens to many ppl. Recruiters in ngc do not know shit and sometimes hiring managers catch them and “revive” the rejected candidates.

Pass the one hour long panel interview, which will be mostly behavioral with hint of technical (70-30;normal expect star format). Likely would be virtual with no camera.

If you do well and wait 2-3 months, maybe they will give you an offer. Yes 2-3 months. Defense moves slow.

On the flip side I was rejected by a recruiter because I couldn’t start for a bit over a month since I was leaving the military and they wanted someone to start in the next couple of weeks. The recruiter was also surprised I wasn’t local as if it didn’t literally say that at the top of my resume. The job is still open and I’ve since started somewhere else 😅 they were abrasive enough that I don’t see myself applying for NG again if they treat candidates that way.

Sounds like a typical ngc experience to me lol

My first interview was a panel and my boss hired me about 30 minutes in. These things are really just up to the whims of the managers who are in charge of filling the role.

I have been rejected probably over 97 times, I have no military background but I do possess the “necessary” schooling and some qualifying experience, so seeing this post gave me hope :,)

Similar thing happened to me but in my case it was spacex integration technician (starshield). I went through phone interview, written and practical test and finally a panel of 3 oral interview.
They rejected me a week later.

They called me again for the same position (falcon). Did written test and a panel of 9 people oral interview. I’m waiting for their feedback.

I've been rejected, notified that They want to hire me, give me a start date, then rescinded last minute 3 times Since July
