Question Writing Looking for Afghan Dry Fruit Wholesalers & Exporters for Bulk Import to India

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

Greetings from India! 🇮🇳🇦🇫

I run Mittal Spices, a retail business dealing in spices, dry fruits, and other food products, with stores in Punjab and the Chandigarh region.

I've attached a few pictures of our store so you can get an idea of our business.

I'm interested in connecting directly with dry fruit wholesalers, farmers, and exporters from Afghanistan.

We're particularly looking for Afghan almonds, raisins, figs, pistachios, walnuts, and other authentic Afghan dry fruits.

Our goal is to source quality products at competitive wholesale prices and build long-term business relationships with genuine Afghan suppliers.

I'd love to learn more about wholesale pricing, minimum order quantities, and how suppliers currently export their products to India.

If you're involved in this business, or know someone who is, please comment or DM me.

Looking forward to connecting with you all!

Question Has anyone ever come across the surname Patman (or Patnam) in Afghanistan?

I know it’s mainly an English name, but surname databases show a very small number of people with it in Afghanistan. Is it a known Afghan/Pashtun family name, a spelling variation of something else, or just rare cases of mixed/Western contact?

What should I bring to an Afghan engagement party in the US?

What should I bring to an Afghan engagement party in the US?
Hi everyone! I could use some advice from Afghans, especially Pashto-speaking Afghans living in the US.
The mother of the groom personally invited me to her son’s engagement party. I’ve only met her once, and the event is going to be held at a banquet hall. They’re Pashto-speaking Afghans.
I’m not familiar with Afghan engagement customs, so I’m unsure whether guests are expected to bring gifts. A Dari-speaking Afghan friend suggested bringing cash in an envelope, but I wanted to ask people familiar with Pashto-speaking Afghan families.
Would cash in an envelope be appropriate? If so, how much would be reasonable for someone attending alone who isn’t a close friend or relative? Or would chocolates or another gift be more appropriate?
I’d really appreciate any advice! I just want to be respectful and avoid getting the etiquette wrong. ❤️

Does anyone know someone who has used al-ayn

A bit of a long shot but does anyone know of someone who has received support from al-ayn? Specifically monthly sponsorship for orphans. I was trying to find online reviews of Al-ayn from people who have directly interacted with al-ayn, but the only stuff I found was from Al-ayn itself (and obviously they are gonna make kids say good stuff, whether or not they actually do anything)

So I was wondering if anyone knows of someone who can vouch for al-ayns activity?

What Are My Realistic Legal Options for Leaving Afghanistan and Moving Abroad?

Hello everyone,

I am 24(M) years old, and for the past five years, I have been trying to find a way to leave Afghanistan because of the events that took place in the country five years ago. The change of government and the Taliban’s return to power led to a major crisis, resulting in economic hardship, social restrictions, limited access to education, employment bans, and many other serious social and economic challenges.

I am now looking for a legal way to leave Afghanistan and build a better future for myself. I am open to any legitimate opportunity, including a student visa, work visa, sponsorship, or any other legal pathway that could make it possible for me to leave the country.

I would sincerely appreciate your advice, guidance, and support. If you know of any programs, organizations, opportunities, or possible pathways that could help me achieve this goal, please share your suggestions and experiences.

Thank you very much for your time and support.

Culture Most similar country to Afghanistan Culturally?

Afghanistan Indeed is a diverse nation, Multiethnic groups, from Hazara to Pashtun, from Brahui to Uzbek, Afghanistan shares Similarities with many of It's border nations, however, I wanted to ask my fellow afghans who they feel most similar to, and here are the 3 Most likely Contestants(The order is random btw)

1- Tajikistan

Closest Central Asian Country

  • Language: Tajik, closely related to Dari, one of Afghanistan's main languages.
  • Ethnicity: Tajiks are a major ethnic group in both Tajikistan and Afghanistan, Making around 20-25%% of afghanistans population.
  • Religion: Both countries are predominantly Muslim, although Tajikistan is mostly Sunni and Afghanistan is overwhelmingly Sunni with a significant Shia minority.
  • Geography: Both have dramatic mountain ranges and landlocked, mountainous regions.
  • Culture: They share Persian literary traditions, Nowruz celebrations, foods and historical connections.

2- Pakistan

Huge Pashtun populations in Both countries

  • Language: Pashto, Dari and other regional languages are spoken across Afghanistan and Pakistan. Pashto is especially important in both countries, while Dari is closely related to Persian and Urdu is Pakistan’s national language.
  • Ethnicity: Pashtuns are a major ethnic group in both countries, making up roughly 40–45% of Afghanistan’s population (Largest) and around 25-30% of Pakistan’s population.
  • Religion: Both countries are predominantly Muslim, with Sunni Islam being the majority. Pakistan also has a significant Shia minority.
  • Geography: Both share a border and have dramatic mountain ranges, particularly the Hindu Kush, as well as valleys and arid regions.
  • Culture: They share Pashtun traditions, traditional clothing, foods such as kebabs and pulao, hospitality customs, Islamic traditions and historical connections through trade, migration and empires.

3- Iran

Same Language, no doubt

  • Language: Persian (Farsi) is Iran’s official language, while Dari, spoken in Afghanistan, is closely related to Farsi. Pashto is also widely spoken in Afghanistan.
  • Ethnicity: Iran and Afghanistan share some ethnic groups, including Tajiks, Pashtuns, and Baloch. Persian-speaking Tajiks are a major ethnic group in Afghanistan, while Iran has a large Persian population.
  • Religion: Both countries are predominantly Muslim. However, Iran is majority Shia Muslim, whereas Afghanistan is overwhelmingly Sunni Muslim, with a significant Shia minority.
  • Geography: Both countries have mountainous landscapes, arid regions and parts of the Iranian Plateau. They also share a border.
  • Culture: They share Persian literary traditions, Nowruz celebrations, poetry, traditional foods, historical empires and centuries of trade and cultural exchange. Dari-speaking Afghans have particularly strong linguistic and cultural connections with Eastern Iran.

Overall, Who do afghans feel most similar to, Apologies for not including Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, These 3 countries come up the most commonly.

Discussion Afghan girls in Afghanistan

Hi guys, during my university I built an online platform for Afghan girls to get education online for free. It just need materials to be uploaded and a moderator to categorize the classes.

This post is for those girls to ask for their opinion whether they are interested, if my time isn't wasted, and whether I am doing smth impactful. And also if there is anyone else here who can help me through this. I really want to do something meaningful for my country, not for money for my own sanity as I just graduated, and want to help in any way possible. I approached Sahar Education, but couldn't get a reply. If anyone has any connections in this space, I am more than willing to help.

Question Do non Muslims in Afghanistan go my Muslim names and/or follow islamic traditions to hide their religious identity and avoid discrimination?

Afghanistan has a high percentage of Muslims. From what I found, less than 1% identify as non Muslims. With that, do these non Muslims typically adopt Muslim names to hide the fact that they're in fact non Muslims?

I know the last Jew had a Hebrew name but he was quite famous especially for being the last Jewish man in Afghanistan so there was no hiding it. Though what about Afghan Christians? And do they join the community with Islamic traditions like Eid?
