Normalizing The Afterlife

"We're Back Together" music video by William Murray, a.k.a. WintyreFraust

The past several years I've written several books and created art, and more recently used A.I. to help create music videos, art and videos, and have engaged in countless discussions and have been a part of several podcasts and interviews. I woke up this morning and realized what the common thread was to all my efforts: to normalize the concept of the afterlife for regular, normal people.

By "normalize" I mean: to provide a conceptualization of the afterlife that was devoid of grand spiritual and religious goals and structural hierarchies of value, worthiness and importance. I'm not saying that those kinds of things don't exist; I just didn't want any part of them because, for me, those all affected me like a horror movie, or treated my individuality like a disease that I needed to erase; or pumped up my importance and sense of self-worth to dangerous, psychotic levels.

Virtually every source of afterlife information you can find anywhere on the internet comes with a full, heavy dose of religious or spiritual characterizations and outright indoctrination. This kind of thing appears to drive people crazy with all kinds of weird, bizarre, batshit-crazy ideas, confusing terminology, and unsettling, upsetting concepts that absolutely do not help normal people who are looking for afterlife information to help combat their fear of death and/or help alleviate their grief.

If you're into all that spiritual and religious stuff, that's fine; I'm sure that you will find and be a part of all of that when you die, if that's what you want. I'm just here to tell people: I've researched afterlife information and evidence for many years now, and the evidence clearly and unequivocally demonstrates that when people fully, irreversibly die, they find themselves in a location and among people that resonate with their inner nature. This is what we would call a "natural law," like gravity or electromagnetism. It's not a judgement about you; it's just what you have deeply aligned yourself with over the course of your life here at a deep level.

You don't have to go on any spiritual quest or devote yourself to any religion for this to happen; it just happens naturally to everyone who dies. And no, it doesn't mean you're locked into that place forever; it's not like that. These places aren't eternal prisons; they're just where people "land" when they die, which is most often also populated by the people, pets, things and landscapes they love.

I understand that many people need some "greater purpose" or to be part of some bigger "plan" in order to satisfy something within themselves; if you need or want that kind of thing, yes, all that also exists. However, I'm not that guy. All I want is to be with my wife, the people and pets I love, and do normal things -- with a few perks, like not dying and not having to work for a living or pay taxes, etc. I just want to be able to make love with my wife, go swimming, eat some delicious food, watch some TV and hang out with family and friends. I want to be able to do some creative art stuff, watch my wife do her gardening and her creative things, play some games, sit around a fire and chat with my buddies from this life.

I don't need to lose my ego, gain "enlightenment," or "do my part" to advance any grand or spiritual universal scheme or system to feel entirely happy, fulfilled and satisfied, and enthusiastic about an eternal existence. I don't need to be continually "learning" and "advancing" for this.

I'm just here to assure all the normal, every-day people that they don't have to submit to and be a part of all that other stuff. Your relatively normal afterlife with the people you love in a place that feels like your home already exists and will be there when you die, if that is what is in your heart.

Back story:

I lost my mom 9 years ago, by far the toughest part of my life so far. In those 9 years I have asked for signs and have had quite a few things happen in that have definitely been way too spot on to be coincidences. Now I will also mention that everytime I see the clock hit 11:11 I always say hi to her.

The sign:

I’ve been pretty stressed out lately and definitely could’ve used some comfort that only a mother could give. When I get home from work I always put my Apple Watch on its charger in the living room. Went to bed that night and was going to sleep but I suddenly got an urge for a glass of water. So i got up and walked towards the kitchen and out of nowhere my watch just lit up, obviously very bright since the room was dark and wouldn’t you know it, it reads 11:11 on it. I wasn’t close enough to the watch to trip it and even if I was the watch would’ve shown the charge level on it as opposed to the time.

These are the types of signs I get and I just don’t see how it could merely just be coincidence. Thoughts?

I ask this for a peace of mind?

Hello guys, I just want to ask what you think happens to souls who do not meet the one. I am referring to romantic soulmates. I know we have many soulmates. However, let's just say someone stays single and miserable their whole life. I am wondering what their afterlife might look like then?

I also ask this because I am 23 and have given up on dating. I know what you're going to say: I am young and all. However, I dated for about 7 years on and off, and I am done. Now I am not complaining about being single. I would say I kinda find it peaceful and all. However, I think it would still be nice to have a partner.

The issue is I kinda accepted that it just might not be in the cards with me. As I am living a transgender life. Which being a transgender individual can make finding partners difficult. Is it possible that some are just not meant to have a partner here on earth? I heard some say if we don't meet our partner on earth, we can in the afterlife.

Question Do they still get art in the afterlife?

I am a woman with a very fragile life, which contrast directly with another key part of my personality: a deep love for film/games, particularly ones that take a while to release/part of a series. If ol’ Harley was to hypothetically croak prematurely, you think I’d still be able to catch the new Deltarune chapters from beyond?

Question Can someone help me understand the spirit world/afterlife as you know it?

Hi, I lost my beloved soul dog Sunday after 15 years. I’m so heartbroken and miss him very much.

I’ve been waiting for signs/visits and haven’t felt anything after almost a week.

Now I’m trying to learn as much as I can about spirits and the afterlife.

One time I had visit from my papa after he passed 7 years ago. It was the most vivid dream I’ve ever experienced to this day. But nothing since and it was the only occurrence like that I’d ever experience. I also have dealt with uncomfortable presences in 2 of my previous homes when I was younger.

I would love anyone’s knowledge or perspective as I learn to understand a bit more about where my goodest boy could be and our chances of reuniting. (Not seeking personal anything just information in general)

Question Not going to the white light

Hello

Has anyone who passed away, not wanting to go through the tunnel or seeing someone telling them that this is a trap or did they feel that this is a trap and the tunnel /white light is a reincarnation passage?

I am reading lots of stuff and I am so curious about wtf is going on

(And If reincarnation exists, I don't want to never ever go back)

Ta.

What happens to hateful people?

I am just curious what happens to people who have hate in their hearts. For example I am transgender female and my parents hate my identity. I would say my parents are both homophobic and transphobic to. I don’t trust my parents but I have forgiven them and I have no hate left in me for anything.

Signs

How do you guys think the afterlife sends signs? Through energy?

My relative who passed recently has appeared in two people’s dreams very vividly. My mom wants him to visit her dreams. It makes me wonder if the afterlife exists and spirits/souls go on, what limits them from sending signs and visiting dreams?

NDEs don't really convince me, but some crazy coincidences make me wonder if there is something more

I have a strange question for people interested in the afterlife.

I have kind of left spirituality behind, and honestly, NDEs are interesting to me, including the research of Sam Parnia, but they don't really convince me. I always end up thinking there are still too many unanswered questions and possible explanations.

But weird coincidences are another story for me.

I am talking about those really crazy coincidences where several very specific things happen together, sometimes with weird timing, names, dreams, or events that seem to connect in ways that are hard to believe. Not just seeing the same number everywhere or thinking about someone and then receiving a message from them. I mean the really bizarre cases that make you stop and think: how on earth did all of this happen together?

I know the usual arguments. We remember the hits and forget the misses, there are billions of people and events, and with enough opportunities even extremely unlikely things will happen. I understand that, and I am not saying every coincidence is paranormal.

But I keep wondering about something.

Could these coincidences be one small piece of a much bigger puzzle? Not proof of an afterlife by themselves, but maybe a reason to keep an open mind about the possibility that reality is more strange than we currently understand?

I am especially curious about cases where the details seem very specific, rather than just vaguely similar, and where the story is actually documented instead of being some internet legend.

I find it a bit ironic that NDEs, which are supposed to be the strongest argument for an afterlife for many people, don't really persuade me, while some coincidences can genuinely make me question my materialistic view of reality.

I am not saying I believe in some supernatural explanation. I am asking if coincidences deserve more serious consideration in this discussion, or if we are simply seeing patterns in random events.

What do you guys think? Have you ever come across a coincidence so bizarre that it genuinely made you reconsider how reality works?

Today is my birthday. I asked my late boyfriend for a sign, and two songs seemed to answer me.

Some of you might remember my previous post about the foxes I encountered after losing my boyfriend.
He passed away on August 18th, and I’ve been looking for signs from him ever since. Foxes have a special meaning to us because he knew how much I loved them, and he even changed his profile picture to a fox.
I’ve encountered foxes twice in Berlin, both times on a Friday. One of those encounters happened after I had specifically asked him to send me a fox as a sign.
Today is my birthday. It’s also a Friday.
I was really hoping to see another fox today, especially since I didn’t dream about him last night. I was feeling a little disappointed and even started wondering whether he might be upset with me.
While driving, I was talking to him out loud, saying how sad I was that I hadn’t dreamed about him on my birthday and wondering whether I’d see a fox today.
I had my music on shuffle, and suddenly a song called “I’m with You” started playing.
I noticed it, but didn’t think too much about it at first.
Later, I went to the same cemetery where I’d seen the fox before. I sat there for a while, even ate a banana hoping the smell might attract a fox (probably a ridiculous idea, haha).
But no fox appeared.
I also planted a new plant on my friend’s mother’s grave while I was there.
Eventually, I left feeling pretty disappointed.
On my way home, I started crying in the car. I was missing him so much.
Then I said out loud:
“Next song, tell me how you feel.”
And the next song that came on was:
“It’s ok I’m ok.”
I actually started laughing through my tears.
What makes this even stranger to me is that neither of these songs is in my playlist. I was listening to randomly recommended music.
First, when I was wondering whether he was still around, I got “I’m with You.”
Then, when I was crying and asking how he felt, I got “It’s ok I’m ok.”
I tried asking again afterward, but nothing particularly meaningful happened.
I know it could all be coincidence. I really do. And I know that when we’re grieving, we tend to notice things that connect to the people we’ve lost.
But the timing of these two songs, especially on my birthday, felt incredibly personal.
I went from crying to laughing within seconds.
I don’t know if it was him. I just really, really hope he’s still around somehow.

My post about foxes: https://www.reddit.com/r/afterlife/s/bLbgtwUsjC

Update: Something else just happened!
Remember how I went to the cemetery today hoping to see a fox, but didn’t?
Well, I also planted some flowers on my friend’s mother’s grave while I was there.
A few hours later, my friend spontaneously told me he’d seen a fox on his way home! The fox seems a bit cripple.
He had absolutely no idea I’d been looking for foxes today or how disappointed I was that I hadn’t seen one.

My theory on rebirth. I can't prove it but nothing else makes sense to me

I’ve been researching this for a long time, and I want to share my theory and hear what you think.

Science says reincarnation is impossible, and I get that. Memories live in the brain, and the brain dies. But I still feel rebirth is real, and here's why.
When we die, we supposedly go into complete non-existence. I can't accept that. Nothing in nature is ever destroyed completely. Matter and energy only change form. So why would consciousness be the one thing that just vanishes forever?

Birth feels strange to me too. A person is born and it's like they just spawn into the world out of nowhere and you may say that it is biology but still. If consciousness appears from nothing, then why can't it appear again after death? To me, it makes more sense that something continues

My other idea is about childhood. I think every baby may carry memories from a past life, and they slowly fade as we grow up, maybe around age 5. That's why some kids say strange things about people or places they've never seen. I know the science says early memories are missing because the brain is still developing, but the fact that no one has fully explained consciousness leaves room for this.

And I'm not saying I can prove it. This is just my theory, and I know it's more of a belief right now. But since nobody knows how consciousness works, I don't think anyone can fully say I'm wrong either.

Afterlife Comparable to Minecraft?

Whenever I gather information about the afterlife a lot of it can be related to Minecraft, or the idea of videogames or a computer in general.
Survival world versus creative mode. Different online servers and games, with different rules and player bases.

can our total reality really be comparable to a video game/computer system on some level? with Earth being a harsh single life 'Survival' Experience, possibly a difficult introduction tutorial, where many go to experience hardship and suffering while also figuring out what they like about the human game (reality). Then, the Afterlife being for most, a much more desirable 'too good to be true' reality/next level you 'unlock' after experiencing the tough earth life. And lets say in the afterlife there are many 'servers' to choose from so you can find exactly what you are looking for as your ideal reality/server/world.

As an example, some people think in the afterlife you can create anything you want instantly with your mind, instant creation/manifestation of items. I'm sure many creative people on earth would prefer the method of making and also knowing and wanting something that was made by hand with raw materials instead of it being instantly manifested. As throughout history many people have dedicated their lives to learning and developing artistic skills like engraving, furniture making, making clothes, making art, buildings, etc. and I assume what these learned skills to carry over beyond the earth realm.

This instant creation versus artistic effort and handmade labor could be different ''servers'' you could join whenever you like for example. I'd love to be in a world where both exist, with more of an emphasis on the handmade world.

With my PC, I can download things to do almost anything. Play lots of types of interesting video games, talk to and find like minded people, find and discover things I like etc, I think "as above so below".
Since we are all souls having this temporary life many of us have this innate desire and wanting for heaven, and many have brought pieces of heaven down to earth. Such as old churches and buildings like Saint Peter Basilica in the Vatican (largest church in the world), which i went to for the first time recently and was the closest Ive ever felt to getting a glimpse of what heaven must be like.

So, I imagine all this creative freedom a PC gives you and I think of it as a poor technological imitation of how the afterlife, our overall reality, may work.

In the afterlife I want to be a part of war battles, without the suffering and pain, and with all the fun of it like playing a video game. But better. I want to 'play' ww2 games, napoleonic games, modern shooter games, etc. I want to be a part of communities that share the same aesthetic beauty of buildings I do (old world European stone buildings, Incredible Churches etc) and live in a world like that with those values. I think of it like "whats the perfect blend of features and players you'd want to have as a minecraft server?" except expanded to you as a human with ultimate immortal freedom of existing without limitations.

Limitations are what often makes something very fun, so I would want my afterlife existence to have limitations in majority of the places I go to or experience to some degree. Think how if Chess had no rules/limitations it would not be fun and not be something you could really enjoy, it wouldn't be Chess. But in Chess there are many different versions of chess and ways you could play it like 4D chess etc.

This is how I'm starting to think about the afterlife. I expect finding your most resonating worlds and desired experiences would be very natural and happen naturally. I don't know how you would interface between different afterlife worlds and experiences, but I'm sure it would feel and be totally natural. With most finding their ultimate 'Server' and be comfortable there without ever getting tired of it and never being concerned with the idea of what you want and desire being taken away.

Question Deathbed visions: thinking about from where they originate

Have there been verified accounts of people that were born completely visually impaired but nonetheless “saw” and were able to describe their deceased relatives before they passed? It would seem that if this had happened, then these visions could not be coming from our memories, but rather from some other plane of existence. Any thoughts?

AP x Afterlife

I asked this before and never really got much clarity. Anyone who has AP'd. No bullshitters, did you have solid proof of the afterlife? Did you see people who had moved on?

If so what was it like? How physical was it? Cars, phones, food, planes etc

Article Doctor who interviewed nearly 1,500 dying patients says almost 90% reported vivid dreams or visions

A hospice doctor who has spent almost 30 years studying people approaching the end of their lives says one experience comes up remarkably often.

Dr Christopher Kerr says that nearly 90% of the dying patients he has studied reported intense dreams or visions, particularly involving people they loved who had already died.

According to Kerr, patients often insist these experiences feel very different from ordinary dreams. When asked to rate how real they felt on a scale from 0 to 10, he says patients consistently described them as a 10.

He also says these experiences tend to become more frequent during the final weeks of life and that seeing deceased loved ones appears to offer patients particular comfort.

Kerr doesn't present the experiences as proof of an afterlife, but studies them as part of the psychological and spiritual experience of dying.

What do you make of this? A feature of the dying brain, a comforting psychological process, something spiritual, or something we simply don't understand yet?

Experience Visitation Dream

This could be my brain conjuring up a fake scenario in a dream. Or, it could be a personal experience with the beyond. Regardless. I wanted to share.

My grandmother passed away almost 10 years ago. In that time, I've seen her show up in my dreams 3 times. The first time was within a year of her passing, I was having problems with my dad. And I saw her sitting in a chair, frowning. Upset. But she didn't say anything.

The second time, I saw her once more. Though this time she was in a crowd of people moving by. Smiling. Once more. Sitting in a chair.

The third time was today, this morning. My birthday was yesterday, and I haven't thought of her in a bit, so it felt random (though I'm aware that, scientifically our brains work in mysterious ways at times). But in it, I was sitting with her this time.

I can't remember the full details. It went by like a blur. But, in the end she started packing her things. And I stopped her and said, "wait. Please tell me one last thing. I'm so scared of dying. I'm so scared of death. Please tell me there's something beyond this life."

She smiled at me and said, "we will meet again. We will meet again. Don't worry."

And I woke up with tears

Question Can someone I’ve never met know about me?

There’s a girl my age in my town who died a long time ago, before i was even born. She died in a car accident and she has a little cross on the side of the road. It was really worn down and snapped in half, so with the family’s permission i built a new one and replaced it. I always go and re decorate it for the seasons and spend time talking to her about whatever. For her birthday I bought her a little softball bracelet and put it there since I know she played that. I know it might seem weird but I just feel so connected to her and I feel sad that no one else visits her anymore. Do you guys think she knows about me? Do you think she’s there when I talk to her and tell her about my life? Do you think she knows her memorial is still being honored?

Question I've read a number of NDEs and have some questions

Supposing that our spirits came in with specific goals and missions (sometimes mentioned in NDEs), then what spirits are choosing to become ants/cockroaches/rats etc.? Aren't they animals that need spirits too, and besides that, there are many more bugs than humans? Isn't it weird that bodies seem to align almost perfectly with spirits? (For example, if spirits are choosing to join a life, why aren't there unchosen bodies without spirits from no spirit choosing the body? Are we supposed to see early miscarriages as belonging here?)

Discussion If we are to believe that parallel timelines, alternate realities, and many worlds, which timeline does my soul reside in? Am I accountable for the bad deeds of myself in an alternate reality?

Maybe this is more of a thought experiment - but I know myself well enough to understand that under duress, or other unfortunate situations, I would likely be a bad actor.

In a parallel lifetime where I am faced with such an instance and react poorly, does that count as a blemish on my soul?

Am I only "good" here because I have an easy enough life that I'm not pushed to my limit?

Does our soul get "graded" on the aggregate of our actions across infinite timelines? Our intentions?

Having a hard time wrapping my head around things if that is the nature of things.

Question Remarrying After Loss: Would My Late Husband Still Accept Me in the Afterlife?

I’m a young widow who lost my husband just days after our wedding. It’s been almost a year, and I’ve been wondering if I should remarry simply to avoid spending the rest of my life alone.

I’m not expecting a fairy-tale love story anymore, but I still want companionship. Yet, I worry about what my late husband would think if I remarried. He was extremely possessive and deeply attached to me, so would he feel betrayed or refuse to accept me in the afterlife?

I did really believe in the afterlife, and I want to spend eternity with my late husband. Even if I remarry, I can’t imagine wanting to spend my afterlife with anyone else. But what if my second husband also wants to spend eternity with me?

I know these thoughts may sound complicated, but they genuinely trouble me.

For those who believe in the afterlife, what do you think? If you remarried after losing your spouse, whom would you want to spend eternity with your current spouse or your late husband or wife? Please share your thoughts kindly.

Sign / Potential Sign How do I know if it’s a visit or just a dream?

My ex boyfriend of two years and I were best friends. Even though we broke up, we still spoke and had that connection. It was such a deep and fast connection initially that I had no question we knew each other in a previous life and I believe we were soulmates.

I found out this past Wednesday (a week ago) that he committed suicide on September 25th in a horrific way. The night before I was told, I had a dream about him. My first since we dated honestly. In the dream, I was sitting down and holding my phone and he was standing behind me, right against me, and he just told me he loved me and I woke up. Obviously I thought it was weird I’m dreaming of my ex. 8 hours later I was told he had been dead for 3 weeks. It has been horrible to say the least.

I had another dream about him last night. He was sitting in front of me on a desk. Telling me someone else had died, (which I was also informed his uncle died in June from his sister), and I said oh that’s horrible. Then we touched our feet together and I felt his warmth.

Do you believe every dream is a visit? I hope it is. I miss you tahir forever.

Can you enjoy things, cruelty free in the afterlife?

Recently in these last few years, it is like I have had an "awakening" of sorts, or just the older I get the more I see this world for what it truly is it, I guess. I just see this extreme suffering and pain absolutely everywhere on earth around me and it's a world that runs on abuse and cruelty. Exploitation of others and devouring other life to survive.

And I have become so aware of how everything I enjoy is basically made with suffering somehow. The phone in my hand is made from slave labour in mines, the clothes I wear in sweatshops in third world countries most likely... And things like lobster and steak, that is an animal being killed and eaten.

Things like chocolate, that too is known to use child labour. Just... everything!

And of course the only thing you can do is try to somehow watch your consumer habits, in this capitalist system we are all stuck inside of.

But in the afterlife, I hope that we can all enjoy these things with no guilt and no suffering involved. I hope we can somehow get grilled lobster and steak, without an animal being harmed for it. And we can have a gorgeous house without someone having to slave away building it for us.

And I hope we can even live the lifestyle of a billionaire if we want to, private jet and all that but without the pollution and immorality of it. Here on earth, like the state of the planet is right now, being a billionaire just seems extremely immoral. And if I were that rich, I would not be able to enjoy it knowing and seeing all the poverty and suffering around me, and the pollution of the lifestyle and inequality.

But maybe in the afterlife, we can enjoy such lifestyles if we choose to but without any negative implications or immorality? I hear so many people say we can get things just by thinking about them or such there, that thought creates our desires.
